Holiday Blog Blitz! Trio of Joy
by Nancy Penir

Hello! And welcome back to Poppy's holiday release Blog Blitz. Nancy here, and I'm featuring a new die called, 'Mountain Hills Plate'. And if you're looking for a holiday die that does it all, and delivers easy breezy, this one's a must have!

The die measures an A2 size card, and cuts in 3 sections plus a frame. I chose to do my winter scene in shimmery shades of cardstock.

Perfectly easy to do 3 cards, with all the sections lined up with the 3 colors of cardstock.

Here's a tip for doing the 'joy' sentiment. I cut out the word from poppy's new Joy die, & ombred the die cut before stamping it with it's coordinated stamp from Tidings of Joy. I used my Misti to line up the word with the stamp, and simply inserted each

die cut before stamping. Once you do the first one, the others line up perfectly and easily.

A few snowflakes and a sprinkling of sequins, and my trio of Joy is done! Already planning to do more in other colors, maybe with glitter paper?

Want to win this fabulous Mountain Hills Plate die? Just leave a comment. Winners will be announced on the 6th. Hope you win! And don't forget to comment each day of the blitz!

Winter Haven
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Everyone!

I've got a fun card to share with you today! I've never really made anything quite like this before, and it turned out great! It was easy to make too! I created a bright, crisp, all-white shaker card and I only used ONE die! Take a look!

The card was created like any usual shaker card, with a base, front panel, foam stick tape, acetate, and a background piece. But I only used one die to make it, House in the Woods, from the latest Poppystamps release. It is such a beautiful die, I knew I wanted to create a shaker the very moment I laid eyes on it.

I made the entire card out of bright white card stock, and used white glitter background paper to make the sky sparkle behind the acetate. I filled the shaker with a handful of very tiny clear seed beads. I wish you could see how it sparkles in the light!

I added one tiny piece of green paper to light the windows in the house, to shine a light for a Veteran! It's a tiny safe winter haven in the snow!

I love how the House in the Woods die cuts such a detailed, intricate pattern with only one cut! You have got to try this!

While you're here, check out our Poppystamps challenge, Plaid is Rad! There's still time to play, and you might be a winner!

Thanks for joining me today!

It's A Banner Birthday

I can keep quiet no longer......I am loving the new Poppystamps Dies and today I can finally share the first card I made for this blog blitz.

I'm always struggling to make cards for the males in my life.  When I saw the Happy Birthday Banner Flags (1144), my head was spinning with ideas.  I was excited when my new dies arrived and I couldn't wait to get started.  The card base is 6x6 inches, this will give you an idea of the size of the banner pieces.  Poppystamps always think of everything and they didn't disapoint this time either.... See how the letters on the banner pieces fall away.  Well, if you look at the dies, you will see there are 5 banner pieces without letters.  These pieces can be cut in a coordinating color and placed behind the lettered pieces.  I cut some in blue and placed them behind the red, and some in red and placed them behind the blue.

The Hearts and Stars Wrap (1143) can be used in so many ways.  Today it holds the birthday Banner and adds another layer to this celebration.

I love that there are both hearts and stars on this banner.  I'm thinking not only birthdays, but also Valentine's Day, and 4th of July.  Isn't it great when one die can be used for so much more.  I cut this Wrap in both red and blue because I couldn't decide which to use.  I'll use the blue one later. Do you see the stars?  Can you guess where these came from?

I love balloons and these are the cutest balloons I think I've ever seen.  The Heart Balloons (1124) would be perfect in many colors and I think boys wouldn't mind getting a card with these sweet balloons.

02-BalloonsYou'll see them again on the inside.  I'll tell you what I did for the balloons on the front of this card.  I backed the dotted and the striped ballons with glittery card stock, and for the solid balloons, I pieced cut hearts from the balloons inside.  I really like how well these balloons turned out and when I added the black string they became quite a balloon boquet.

I needed a base for all these dies and I used embossing paste to stencil the new Memory Box Texture Tiny Dots stencil (88589).  Just enough to add interest and pull everything together.  A little ribbon and the front of this card is ready to assemble.

And now on to the inside.

I added some more balloons.  This time I didn't back them, but rather let the card stock show through. A little pencil work for string and some stars and more ribbons and the inside is complete.  There is plenty of room for a rubber stamped sentiment or a hand written note.

I'm looking forward to making several more and it will be fun playing with lots of colors.

This is a blog blitz, and I almost forgot to mention.  The prize to one lucky winner will be the Happy Birthday Banner Flags.  It's easy to win, all you have to do is leave a comment by January 31st.  Trust me, you're going to love this die.  Good luck!  Be sure to comment on any of the blog blitz posts for a chance to win what the girls have picked.  Winners will be announced on February 2nd.  Again....good luck!
