A Fine and Delicate Christmas
by Rachel Duong

IMG_3747

Just a few more sleeps and Christmas is here!  Hi, it's Rachel and I am here to share one more card with you before the special day arrives. I used the Poppystamps "Nordic Border Set" and the "Layered Holly Branch" dies for this soft and pretty creation.

IMG_3654

I love the intricate detail of the background. It is just gorgeous with white on a white cardbase. I painted the holly in a mixed palette of green distress inks to give them depth and character.

Another look at the entire card before we go on.

The Poppystamps "Lavish Merry Christmas" sentiment is a beautiful font and pairs perfectly with the delicate lace. It also comes with a shadow but I chose not to use it on this card. I wanted each piece to be light and airy! A soft red cardstock was just the right fit from the Memory Box "Berry Red Collection".

IMG_3653

For the finishing touch, I adhered Open Studio "Fairy Jewels" in a precious mauve hue!

IMG_3749

I hope you love this card as much as I do.  The Poppystamps "Nordic Border Set" is so stunning,  it pretty much sets the stage for something magical to happen!

Wishing you peace and joy during  and throughout the season....

This was my take on the challenge, and such a quick and easy one - you can totally mass produce this for the holidays! Hope you like it!

I cut a panel of white card stock using the 2574 Scandinavian Snowflake Plate craft die. I took some perfect pearls in the gold and perfect pearl color and made a solution out of them with water and sprinkled it all over the panel. Honestly, you don't even need to do this - the die is SO beautiful, it can be used fully clean and still make a huge impact. I just love the extra sparkle and shine.

I cut out a panel of glitter card stock from the GP1006 Festive Glitter Pad and adhered it behind the 2574 Scandinavian Snowflake Plate craft die cut panel.

Using some silver mirror cardstock from the FP1003 Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6 pack, I die cut the innermost scalloped frame from the 2474 Double Scalloped Stitched Frames craft die. I took a piece of vellum and adhered it to the back of the frame.

Then I used the 2475 Small Freestyle Merry Christmas craft die to cut a few merry die cuts out of white card stock. I adhered them all together for dimension and the chip-board like feel. I topped the layered merry with another merry that I cut out of the same glitter card stock I used behind the 2574 Scandinavian Snowflake Plate craft die cut panel from the GP1006 Festive Glitter Pad. I absolutely LOVE this color, don't you?!

Hello Poppy Peeps!

Remember the card I made a few weeks ago? The Delicate Lace Card using the Nordic Border die set? Well, as usual - since I had the supplies out already, I cut out a lot more than I actually needed. And I figured, since these have the wedding vibe, why not make a wedding card? So, here I am with two wedding easel cards using the lacy goodness from the Nordic Border die set!

The prep work for this was pretty much the exact same as the Delicate Lace Card. The only difference is, once I had a panel with a number of rows of the border die cuts, I ran them through the die cutting machine again using the top tier and bottom tier cake dies from the 2469 Floral Cake Pop Up Easel craft die. The panel I had was very long enough for me to squeeze two top tiers and one bottom tier, so I figured I'd make two cake cards. I used some pattern paper with flock on it for the bottom tier of the gold cake card.

I couldn't make up my mind on the gold glitter card stock and the silver, so I figured I'd make one of each. I cut the glitter card stock from the GP1006 Festive Glitter Pad using the 2466 Layer Cake Drip Icing craft die for the icing on the cakes.

For the sentiment, I utilized the 2555 Sending Love Poe Script craft die. I cut some with the same glitter card stock that I used for the icing. However, to add a splash of color, I also cut some from festive green and festive red glitter card stock from the same pad. These colors happen to be the favorites and/or birthstone colors of my cousins and their fiancés, so it seemed like the perfect choice!

The rest of the card came together pretty much the same way as the other easel cards that the design team has made in the past. I had the hearts left over from the sentiment die cuts, so I used those on the inside as stoppers.

I couldn't help but take a whole bunch of pictures of these, so enjoy these scrolling gallery of pictures!
