A Flower Shoppe Thank You!
by Rachel Duong

IMG_5171

Hi everyone! It's Rachel here to share a thank you card I made. I used the Poppystamps "Corner Shoppe Flower Pot Shelves" and "Flower and Leaf Sprinkles" die sets. I had the best time watercoloring these awesome plants and pots.

IMG_5146

I die cut the shelves, plants and pots out of watercolor paper. Using distress inks in shades of green, teal, browns, reds and yellow, I loosely painted the pieces allowing colors to run into one another. What a delight!

Next I die cut the larget circle from the "Simple Rings" die in a nice peach cardstock Memory Box "Sunny Orange" cardstock pad. I die cut it again in a heavy vellum for the outline it automatically cuts with the circle. I die cut the "Snowglove Bases" set in kraft and I decided to used the smaller base. I blended brown distress ink over the base.

IMG_5173

Then I picked out a soft plaid paper for the background. It is so pretty and the dark lines are purple. I adhered the patterned paper to a white card base leaving a thin white border. I adhered the globe over the plaid paper.

IMG_5149

I spent quite a bit of time arranging the plants and pots on the shelves. I moved the pots around and a tip is to take pictures of the final arrangement to look at for reference. It comes in handy when gluing the pieces down.

Then I glued the foil tab on the base and added coordinating purple Fairy Jewels.  Finally I wrapped burlap twind at the fold of the card. That's it and so many sentiments can go on this card!

This card was such a joy to create. I love gardening so working with paper plants just makes me happy! Yay! Please take a look at Poppystamps latest release. The dies are amazing and the pieces work together perfectly.

Have a great day and see you very soon!

It's Cake Time!
by Rachel Duong

IMG_5126 (1)

Hi crafty friends! It's Rachel here to share a delicious and yummy birthday gift card holder using the Poppystamps " Corner Shoppe Birthday Treats and Birthday Celebrations" die sets. They are festive and perfect for that special day. I paired it with the "Basic Junk Journal Set", it has a great inside pocket for a gift card. How sweet it is!

IMG_5101

The front cover is decorated with oh so many balloons in shades of pinks, mauves and lavender. The glitter balloons add an extra special touch. A cake over a ribbon wrapped vellum envelope and a silver embossed sentiment adorn the cover. Fairy drops in the lower left corner add interest and fun.

IMG_5111

Open the card and a pocket is waiting to be filled with a gift card for the recipient. Pink streames add to the festivity. On the right is space to write a message and a cupcake, nom nom!

IMG_5112

And under the message is a secret little vellum envelope holding balloons and an ice cream cone on top. Do you see the balloon that is getting away?!

IMG_5113

Finally, the back is decorated with three double scoop ice cream cones!

Flower Cart
by Tricia Barber

IMG_4603

Hello! Tricia here with you today sharing a card that I made with the Corner Shoppe release.  I used the new Corner Shoppe Wooden Cart die set along with Flower and Leaf Sprinkles die set.  I love this vintage inspired flower cart.  The Flower and Leaf Sprinkle die set is so adorable with the cute tiny flowers.  So much fun to create! I used the die to die cut several different colors of cardstock.  Now I have plenty to use for future cards!

IMG_4604

I created a focal point with the Scallop Pinpoint Rings. I layered this onto a panel of light orange vellum.  I love using vellum on my cards.  It softens the look of the cardstock and I layered a lacy panel underneath.  It is hard to see in the photo but in real life it adds just a little extra to the card panel!

IMG_4605

I finished off the card panel with some fairy jewels.  I added a foiled sentiment using the Modest Greetings 1 Hot Foil Plate and Die.  I hope you have a wonderful and crafty day!

Amazing Whittle Giraffe!
by Birgit Norton

IMG_6331
Howdy~ho Poppystamps friends!  I have the cuuuuutest card to share with you today, featuring the fun Whittle Racing Giraffe Kit.  Do you see a little sneak peek behind the scenes?  Lets jump right in and I'll give you all the details.

IMG_6327I knew I wanted to use the Whittle Racing Giraffe Kit, so I cut the giraffes out of a piece of pale yellow cardstock from the 6x6 Sunrise Solid Core Cardstock pad.  I cut the tree pieces and the clouds out of a piece of white cardstock that had been previously embossed with a large polka dot pattern, which I found in my box of scraps.  I added color to each of the pieces using Copic markers on the giraffes and tree trunk and Distress Oxide inks on the clouds and tree canopies.  (I had cut two of the canopies).  Now what to do with the background??

IMG_6326I was a bit perplexed on what to do for a background until I came across the Nordic Flower Heads from the spring release.  I cut them out three times using soft yellow and soft orange from the same 6x6 Sunrise Solid Core Cardstock pad, and a piece of cream colored cardstock from my scrap box.  I commenced to laying the flowers out in a random pattern, trying to mix up the colors as much as I could, while covering the front of an A2 sized card.  I snipped off the flower pieces that were overhanging the sides and cut a piece of vellum that measured 4"x5 1/4" and glued it to the top of the flowery background.

IMG_6329

Next, I glued the scenery pieces onto the front of the card, over the vellum layer.  I cut both the wavy and straight banners from the Sentimental Banners set out of white cardstock and had to decide which of the wonderful sentiments I was going to use.

IMG_6332

I finally setting on "You are Amazing".

I think this card turned out so fun!

A Bird Bunch Birthday
by Rachel Duong

IMG_4643

Hello there! It's Rachel, and I am excited to share a birthday card with a bunch of birds! I also want to remind you to join in our April Poppystamps Challenge. The theme is "Look Out The Window!" Create a card with a window or something that resembles a window on it. You can also create a scene as if you were looking out a window.

IMG_4637

My window card features fancy birds with so much pizazz! I used the Poppystamps "Nordic Bird Bunch" die, it comes with six birds. I die cut the birds using pearlescent white and aqua, navy and white glitter paper, and a periwinkle shade of blue. Paper comes from Memory Box paper packs listed below. I assembled the birds and I used a fine point black Sharpie marker to color the area for the eye. Also don't forget the orange beaks!

IMG_4643

Next I die cut the "Arched Gothic Cathedral Window" in white cardstock for the top piece and Memory Box "Anemone Grove" patterned paper for the accent. Using the negative shape of the window, I traced it on a piece of vellum, cut it out and glued it under the window.

IMG_4625

I die cut the "Nordic Lacy Plate" in a heavy white cardstock. This is a beautiful backdrop for any card occasion. Then I adhered the window to the background and adhered it to a white cardbase.
IMG_4634

I arranged the birds on the card. I glued them down when I felt it looked just right. A Happy Birthday sentiment strip fit perfectly on the window trim. Finally I added a beautiful embellishment at the top of the window.

IMG_4641

I had a blast creating this card, it is just too "tweet!" I love the shades of blue and the fancy papers with glitter and shine. The birds are so handsome in their sweaters!

That's all for today. Please join the challenge. Link up your photo and two winners will be selected. Good luck to you! See you very soon.

Nordic Butterfly Wishes
by Birgit Norton

IMG_5554

Hello Poppystamps fans!  Are you enjoying the spring release?  These Nordic dies are all so beautiful.

Today's card is light and lacy.  Here's what I did.

IMG_5549

I started by cutting the Nordic Flourish Background out of white cardstock.  I cut the frame out of vellum.  I love how the vellum softens the flourish background.  I mounted them onto an A2 sized white cardstock base.

IMG_5547

Next, I cut all the pieces of the Nordic Spectacular Butterfly out of teal, aqua and Delicate Pastel Glitter cardstock and layered them up using foam squares.

IMG_5552

I glued one of the butterflies onto the card front.  Just look at the lovely layers and all that dimension.

IMG_5550

I stamped a sentiment from Christmas Banners and cut it out using the coordinating die.  I tucked it in under the butterfly with a little dab of liquid glue.
