Leafy Snowflake Frame.
by Candice Crawford

Poppy Stamps Blog Post 12.30 copy

Hi there Crafty Friends,

Candice here from Papercrafting Elegance, back to share another holiday card.           Today's card although is holiday themed, has a lot of versatility and can also be used as a winter themed birthday or thank you card, by simply changing the sentiment and patterned paper.

Blog Post 12.30.19.2

The products I used for my project are the Leafy Snowflake Frame and the Double Stitched Rectangle Frames die sets. This card came together quickly and was a breeze to make. Clean and simple is one of my favorite styles to use when mass producing holiday cards.

To create this card, I first cut the Leafy Snowflake die twice from a piece of white cardstock and then again from a piece of red cardstock.  I snipped both sets of snowflakes from their frames, then separated the snowflakes into outlines and inlaid pieces.

Next I inlaid the white snowflake piece into the red snowflake outline to create a red and white inlaid snowflake. These red and white snowflake pieces are held together with scotch tape on the reverse side.

Next I took a piece of 6x6 pattern paper from the Dashing Holiday Paper Pad by Memory Box and cut it to 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 for the background on my card. I then die cut the largest frame from the Double Stitched Rectangle Frames die set from a piece of red cardstock and added the fame to the patterned paper with some liquid glue.

I then adhered the inlaid snowflake to the card using some 3M foam tape. Lastly I added some silver rhinestones to each of the six points on the snowflake points and one rhinestone to the center for a bit of shimmer and shine.

To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment "warmest wishes" from the Flower Garden stamp set in Versamark onyx black ink onto a 1/2 inch strip of white cardstock and adhered the sentiment just below the snowflake with foam tape. I think this card is absolutely stunning.

I hope you all enjoyed today's project and found a bit of inspiration. Thank you all for joining me today. I wish you all a Happy New Year! and look forward to sharing more projects with you in 2020.

Poppystamps Sponsoring Time Out Challenges
By Jeanne Jachna

Believe-Five

I know you love to make, but do you like to play card challenges on line?  I do!  Especially when I'm not feeling so crafty.  They're a great place for inspiration.  I like to see what other folks who like to craft are making, what's trendy, and get ideas for new techniques to try.
Time Out Challenge 135.1png
Poppystamps is sponsoring the latest Time Out Challenges Blog that begins today.  That means if you make something and link it up you'll be entered to win a $20 gift certificate to the store.    The inspiration this time is  a quote that got me thinking about looking up at the stars and making a wish.
Believe-One
Here's what I made!
Believe-Two
I started with a Distress Ink background of Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, and Blueprint Sketch.   I applied the inks with a make up brush.  I bought a set by Yoseng on Amazon and I wouldn't trade them for any other brush I've ever tried.  They make soft inky backgrounds FAST!  I splattered the panel with water, and then some watered down Salty Ocean ink.
Believe-Three
Next I cut the panel with the All Star Collage and layered it over a second panel that I inked with Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers.  I cut the All Star Collage a second time with a piece of gold scrap paper and used the stars as embellishments for a bit of bling.
Believe-Four
I double cut the Believe Fresh Script word die from white and gold card stock and then adhered them together offset so the gold glitter paper peeks out from the white cardstock.
The sentiment is from the Donut What I'd Do clear stamp set.  I put some tape over the "forget" on the sentiment before I inked it.  Next I removed the tape and stamped the sentiment so only the words I wanted "you are awesome" got inked.
Believe
Now it's your turn!  I hope you find some time to play along!   You can find the Time Out Challenges Blog here.   For a second chance to win link up your project on the Poppystamps challenge too.  Our theme this month is Wishi Washi!  We're looking for (make a wish) Birthday cards, and / or cards that include some washi tape.

Take a look at how I was inspired by a Starry Night!

IMG_5932-wm

I created a cozy home, right after Christmas, nestled in the snowy north woods! I even created a background using a brand new technique (at least for me)!

IMG_5909-wm

I have been creating cards using alcohol inks for a while, which is so much fun, and would work nicely with this Starry Night card too. The background panel on the left was created with alcohol inks dripped and then blended on YUPO paper. The panel on the right was created with copic markers! Just select your favorite shades and scribble them across the YUPO, then blend with a little alcohol blending solution and a sponge in a swirly motion. I used the darker blue panel as the night sky for my Starry Night card.

We'd love to see what you'll create, and how you will be inspired by a Starry Night!

Thanks so much for dropping by today, and be sure to come back again tomorrow!

Night Sky
by Marybeth Lopez

Fullsizeoutput_1079

Hello and Happy New Year to all of you! I made this card with a few dies from Poppystamps . I used Winter Cabin ,Whittle Trees and Pointed Circle Frames.

IMG_8795 2

I love watercoloring with Peerless  Watercolor sheets from Birch Press Design. The color is so vibrant and can easily be toned down with water .

IMG_8797 3

This is how my night sky started out. I dried it with my heat gun then added more watercolor until I was happy with the results.

I loaded my brush with white shimmer paint then made splatters by rubbing my fingernail over the tip of the brush.

This card could be for anyone but I also think its a great masculine card!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and many blessings to you and your families in 2019!

Northern Holiday
by Michele K. Henderson

IMG_5861-wm

Hello Everyone!

We are so happy you could drop by for a visit! Snowy December is certainly here, so today I am sharing a snowy winter scene! Take a look at this Northern Holiday!

IMG_5859-wm

I started by creating a background of blended distress oxide inks spritzed with water for a soft, fuzzy look. I have fallen in love with our collection of whittle animals, so I used this adorable Whittle Fox against the soft white of thicker watercolor paper. I think he really stands out. Add a few stars from the All Star Collage and you have a sweet winter scene.
