Festive Noel Christmas Blog Blitz
by Tina Wilstrup

Hello Poppy fans! The Christmas/Winter Blog Blitz is in full swing and I'm here to show you some inspiration using the gorgeous Festive Noel die.
Watermark1.56926563398E12

I wanted to use "sort-of" untraditional colors so I started by loosely ink blending a panel of watercolor cardstock with Mermaid lagoon, Blueprint sketch and Wilted violet Distress inks. Ireally wasn't careful with the blending. I spritzed the cardstock with water and dapped off the excess with a paper towel. Then I diluted a tiny drop of silver acrylic paint with water and splattered it over the panel. I even spritzed it with Sheer shimmer spritz for extra sparkle because - Christmas...

I also die cut the Festive Noel 4 times and the Pumpkin Patch Sidekick frame once. With my scissors I cut out all the pumpkins from the frame.

The frame and the one Noel cuts I covered in silver sparkle embossing powder. I then layered the Noel cuts and adhered the frame and Noel to the card. I inlayed a single layer of the Noel negative cuts to make the word stand out more.

I inlayed all 4 layers of the berries and topped them with white Nuvo drops and also added a little shimmer to the inlayed letters.

I love all the colors of the winter holidays, but this Festive Noel die has a traditional holiday vibe for me, so I decided to use traditional holiday colors, red and green foil paper! I cut the Festive Noel twice, once in red and once in silver. I then cut the Holly Vine Sidekick Frame out of green foil, then carefully pieced everything together against a light silvery white glitter background. I must have tried a dozen different background papers until I found the one that was just right for this project. This color combination works for me, and all that shiny foil reminds me of vintage holiday ornaments and decorations. The Festive Noel fits perfectly in the frame of the Holly Vine.

Now it's your chance to win this amazing Festive Noel die to add to your holiday collection. Simply leave a comment on THIS post before midnight on October 2, and you might be selected to receive a special gift from your Poppystamps Secret Santa! Winners will be announced October 4th.

Challenge Reminder
by Jeanne Jachna

Bloom
Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I'm interrupting the Fall / Halloween blog blitz to bring you this important message :P   HAHA!  I want to remind you that if you love to craft you should be playing along with our monthly challenge!
Bloom-Three
I'm playing along with this clean and simple card featuring the FUN FLORAL SIDEKICK Frame!

09-19

The challenge this month is ANYTHING GOES so there is no excuse for not playing along.  If you've never played before it couldn't be easier.  All you need to do is make a project... it could be a card, tag, home decor project etc. take a photo of it and upload it to a gallery like Splitcoaststampers, Flickr, or Instagram.  Just copy the url link where your photo is located and add it to the challenge links.  We select two winners every month.  The project we like best receives our blog badge, and one random winner chosen by random number generator receives a gift certificate for $20 to our on line store.

Bloom-One
My card starts with a distress ink panel in Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron.  I topped the panel with the FUN FLORAL SIDEKICK frame cut from white card stock.

Bloom-Two

The sentiment is from the Blooming Greetings stamp set, and is stamped on the window cut out.   I embellished the frame with die cut flowers and leaves that are included in the set.  I inked scraps of white paper with distress ink and used that instead of card stock.  The flowers have gem centers for a little bit of bling!

Bloom-Four

Now it's your turn!  I sure hope you'll play along!  We love to see what you make!   And YES!  Our blog blitz will be back in full swing tomorrow! We've got lots more projects to share featuring the new release!

Have a great day!

Holiday Blog Blitz: Hello Autumn
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0047

It's Halloween/Fall Release time at Poppystamps, and I'm showcasing the beautiful Autumn Leaves Sidekick Frame and Stencil. This sidekick frame can give your seasonal cards instant 'oohs and aahs'. It's so easy to add my sentiment to the framed area. And the stencil allows for color placement on the leaves.

DSC_0046_wm

Do you live in a place where the seasons stage a show of color? Time to bring out the sweaters. And to reflect the season on our cards too. Here's what I did to my card.

DSC_0029

I started by inking my watercolor Cardstock with Distress Oxide Inks: Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.

DSC_0032

Then sprayed the inked panel with water droplets. And then added a coppery spray and white to the inked panel, letting each layer dry before adding the next. If you ink a larger panel you can cut selectively to your A2 sized card.

DSC_0035

With the same inks I used on the watercolor panel, I carefully applied ink to just the edges of the leaves. Remember to tape down your stencil. It really helps to keep the ink where you want it.

DSC_0043

There are a couple of new Autumn Leaf die sets new this release that I love with the Sidekick frame. I cut them first in vellum then in white cardstock. After die cutting them, I added a bit of Rose Gold Embossing Powder to the edges of the vellum die cuts. I glued only the middle of the leaf to the white die cut base, and bent up the edges as if fluttering in the breeze.

Autumn is the perfect time to play with our embossing powders and sequins, isn't it? It's time to add the bling!

Would you like to win the Autumn Leaves Sidekick Frame and Stencil? All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post. The Blog Blitz is 20 days of  inspiration. Check back each day to see how the designers use the new holiday stamps and dies. First for Halloween/Fall and then for Christmas/Winter. Lots to see, and you could win! And, now there's a second chance to win. Visit our instagram, like, and tag a friend. You and a friend could win! Remember, comment for a chance to win. Last day to comment is Sept. 23. Peony Bouquet
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0399

Hi! Nancy here, and I'm bringing you some inspiration using the new Peony Bouquet stamp set, and a few of the new dies just released.

DSC_0401 2_wm

If you love adding your favorite coloring medium to stamped images, this set is for you! I used copics, for this card, and below I explain my steps.

DSC_0378

Stamped first in Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored with copics, I also stamped the bouquet's 2 outside blooms, and fussy cut them.

DSC_0380

The die cut Double Scallop Oval frame seemed a perfect match for my colored bouquet. I added the outside of the Beautiful Butterflies Sidekick Frame before adding the foam tape. The detail of the pinpoint adds a finished edge to the composition.

The closeup shows how I added the 2 fussy cut buds through 2 of the scallops.

Hope you have a wonderful week! And I hope it's full of crafty goodness!

Jungle party
by Tina Wilstrup

Jungle1

Hello everyone, and welcome! Today I'm showing you just how much of a jungle party you can have with the gorgeous summer release products!
Jungle1

First I cut an A2 panel from watercolor cardstock, spritzed it with water and added Nuvo shimmer powder in Green parade. I kept adding more water and powder until I was happy with the look. It's hard to show on a photo but I love the shimmery look these powders give in real life.
Jungle1

I then used the Fun floral sidekick frame die to cut 4 frames. I wanted my top layer light and "floating", so I cut off all the fern leaves with my scissors.
Jungle1

For my top layer I used yupo paper and Ranger alcohol ink in Limeade, Patina and Gold mixative. Again i kept adding color until I liked it. I was going for a dense dark jungle in the back with a lighter front.

You'll notice that I didn't add my sentiment before attaching the frames. The sentiment from Whittle everyday stamp set I stamped fine with my stamping tool, but be aware that the yupo paper does not handle heat very well. I had to heat set the WOW! Gold pearl embossing powder very carefully.
Jungle1

I cut a bunch of the cute Whittles - monkey, koala, lion, tiger and turtle, all part of the summer release! I colored them with my Copics and popped them up with foam squares. Now, I know they don't naturally live together, so let's just pretend they came from near and far to celebrate.
Jungle1

The finishing touch was Nuvo drops in pale gold.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to create!
