Wishing You Brighter Days
by Candice Crawford

Poppy Stamps Blog Post 4.30

Hello crafty friends, Candice here, sharing with you another design team project showcasing products from our Spring release.                                    Today's card is bright and cheerful with a playful Spring theme full of colorful umbrellas.

April 30 Blog Post Supplies

To make this card, you will need the new Raining Frame Die set, along with the Whittle Cloud Border die and the Birch Press Designs Blooming Spring stamp set. You will also need card stock scraps in the colors blue, yellow, orange, green, light pink, white and fuchsia.

Begin by die cutting the cloud borders from a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of white card stock.

Next take your yellow, orange, green, light pink and fuchsia card stock and die cut the umbrella from the Raining Frame Die set with each color. No need to use your larger pieces of colored card stock; small scraps will work the best for to die cutting the tiny umbrellas.

Next, die cut the raining background from a piece of a piece of blue card stock. The Raining Frame die creates the perfect 4.0 x 5.25 inch background layer for the card. Assemble the card by first adhering the Raining background layer to a 4.25 x 5.5 inch white card base using adhesive of choice. I prefer liquid adhesive.

Next add your stitched cloud borders to both the top and bottom of the raining background layer. Then paper piece the light pink umbrella directly into the umbrella opening of the raining background layer with some liquid adhesive.

Now add the remaining umbrellas to the card with 3M foam tape arranging them in a staggering design around the light pink umbrella. April 30th Post 3.3
Finish the card by stamping the sentiment "wishing you brighter days" in VersaFine Black Onyx ink using a combination of sentiments from the Birch Press Blooming Spring stamp set.

Today's card is full of color and dimension and came together rather quickly. I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial and will try this design out for yourself.

Thank you for joining me today. Until next time...stay safe and happy crafting!

04-20 copyPSC#67 Puddle Jumping - April Showers bring May Flowers!  Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness hasn't danced in the rain.  Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass it's about learning to find the beauty in all things.   There has to be a rainbow somewhere behind the storm clouds!  As most of us are confined to our homes at the moment, it's about reconnecting with loved ones and making the most of our time together.  It's time to dig out the board games and family movie classics, have more family nights and appreciate the good things that  we have.

This month we're puddle jumping.. pulling out the boots and umbrellas, watching the flowers begin to sprout from the ground and laughing at the ducks making the most of the smallest pool of water.   Want to make a splash?  pull out the watercolors!   Cards, tags, treats, page layouts and home decor are all welcome just be sure to include at least one Poppystamps image (die cut, stencil, or stamp) on your project.

Need a little inspiration?  Here are some samples from our design team.  Want a closer look?   No worries.. we'll be featuring these projects on Wednesdays throughout the month, so you can see how each project was created.
