Autumn in the Forest
by Lisa Elton

24 0930 001 copyWouldn't it be a wonder to see this pretty little bunny in the autumn forest? I've dressed her to the nines and given her an abundance of autumn sprigs to munch on!

My Nordic Winter Rabbit was cut from gray cardstock. She's dressed using snippets from the MB Blush Solid Core pad with the trim cut from gold paper in the Vintage Pastel Mirror pad. It's hard to see in the photo, but her little pink nose matches her ear. The sweet  flowers and pine sprigs are in the new Simple Floral Bundle.

24 0930 002 copyShe's sitting on the new Forest Stump. I cut it from a lighter shade of brown cardstock then added Copic markers for some shading and depth. More floral sprigs and branches along with some cutie little toadstools were tucked in on the opposite side. Everything was grounded on one of the Nordic Delicate Borders and a snippet of PP by MB.

I like using ivory as a base and accents on my autumn cards. It seems cozier, to me, than white. Imagine meeting this cozy little rabbit on a walk through the forest. What a treat that would be!

Happy Fall!
by Rachel Duong

Hi there! The jack-o-lanters are lit and my fall card is a decorated wreath with beautiful multicolored leaves. I used the Poppystamps "Perky Pumpkins" for the main feature  with a shiny, mirrored paper. Are you ready for the holidays?!

IMG_6716

To create this card I began by choosing a gorgeous patterned paper from the Memory Box "Nutmeg Forest" paper pad. The rich hues were a wonderful starting point. Next I die cut the "Nordic Delicate Border Set" in a medium lavender tone and adhered it to a deeper purple. I trimmed it down so more of the patterned paper could be seen.

I die cut the pumpkins in metallic and glitter oranges. Strips of yellow are glued to the back to add glow. The curved pieces are from the "Nordic Wreath and Bow". I also die cut the leaves in mirrored and glitter green paper. The fun part is deciding how I was going to arrange all the pieces.

I cut the wreath pieces in fall colors. As it turns out, not much of the wreath can be seen once I compiled all the piecea. I decorated the wreath and then adhered it to the purple square. I die cut the leaves in purple and tan papers. I loosely watercolored them. Then I die cut the bow in plaid patterned paper. I love this Nutmeg Plaid paper pack so much. The fine lines of metallic gold is awesome. The Poppystamps "Happy Fall Moonlight Script" sentiment is cut in the mirrored green and bordered in purple. Finally I added the Open Studio "Treasure Chest Fairy Gemstones" to balance the card. I love the iridescent quality of these gemstones.

I love the texture and specialty papers in this card. They add so much character. The mood is so festive.

I had many extra pieces left over, I decided to make another card. This time I used a solid background and a brighter, more vivid color scheme.

IMG_6723 I hope your day is fantastic and that these cards might have inspired you to begin holiday card making. The supplies I used are listed below in case you want to make them. The Poppystamps dies are amazing and the Nordic dies are a series of many dies that coordinate together. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Crafty Friend,
This is my second Christmas card this month to inspire you to get a jump start on your Holiday Cards! Poppy Stamps Nordic Wonderland Collection makes it easy to create elegant and whimsical cards. My card today features the Nordic Snowmen.

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: Which snowman do you like better Poppy Stamp Sweet Nordic Snowman (left) or Happy Nordic Snowman (right)?
A: Me? I like the Sweet Nordic Snowman

Step 1: I started my card by putting together the snowman dies with Poppy Stamp Gladiola 6x6 Paper Pad for the pattern pieces and Poppy Stamps Twilight Purple Paper Pad. Then I die cut the Poppy Stamps Nordic Wispy Trees to match the snowman's outfits.

Step 2: Next, I used purple and gold plaid paper from Memory Box Gladiola Plaid 6x6 Paper Pad for my background and Poppy Stamps Nordic Lavish Border Dies as my snow.

Step 3: I arranged the snowmen and trees across the bottom of the card and added the Poppy Stamps Happy Holidays Moonlight Script Die at the top.

These stockings are just so elegant and sweet with their ruffled tops and patterned bottoms.

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:

A: Me? Yes! I have one with my name on it at my house and my parents still stuff my childhood stocking

Step 1: I used white embossing paste to stencil my background with Poppy Stamps Nordic Motif Stencil. Then I added the Nordic Wintertide borders across the center of my card

Blue Poinsettias and Nordic Pattern Rings!
by Sphoorti

IMG_2270 (2)

Hello Poppy Peeps!

It's Sphoorti! I'm thrilled to unveil the first card from another new series I'm developing. Currently, there are only two cards in this collection, so I hesitate to call it a full series just yet. However, I'm excited to announce that I'll definitely be expanding this set with more designs before Christmas this year—leftovers are always a win!

IMG_2268

To start, I began by cutting out poinsettias from plain white Neenah Solar White cardstock. Using some of my favorite distress inks in colors like Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet, I distressed the petals and leaves. Additionally, I die cut more poinsettias from silver glitter cardstock. I alternated between the silver and distress-inked layers to create depth and texture.

Next, utilizing the Nordic Pattern Rings die set, I cut out three rings of various sizes and affixed them to my cardbase. I wanted to foam mount them, so I put some tape behind the rings so that the little circles in the rings don't fall out. I then arranged the assembled poinsettias around two of the rings for a balanced composition. For the sentiment, I opted for the Merry and Bright greeting tab from the ST018 Holiday Wishes Foil Greetings White Tabs set, distress inking it with the same colors used for the poinsettias. To add a final touch, I scattered pearls in matching hues, bringing the entire card together harmoniously.

Oh, also, I had a few extra poinsettias, so I adhered them inside the card too!

Spooky Cats
by Tricia Barber

IMG_5748

Hello! Tricia here with you today to share a cute Halloween card using the new Ghostly Cats die set.  These are so adorable!  I die cut from black and white cardstock.  I know this card will be perfect for my mother in law.   The sentiment is from the Bugs and Hisses sentiment set. I white heat embossed on black cardstock and trimmed it down.

IMG_5751

I love to create the look of lace under vellum. I have used this technique before and it pairs so well with colored vellum.   I used the Nordic Fancy Background die from dark purple cardstock. I then overlayed this with a dark purple vellum.  I added the cats and sentiment and then I was able to strategically place my adhesive to add this to the card panel.  I had a 3/4 inch hinge so that I could adhere the vellum to the back of the card base. It looks like lacy in the background.

IMG_5749

I used a white card base to really show off the  Nordic Fancy Background die cut.  To finish off the card, I added some Fairy Jewels to the card to add a little sparkle.
