It's A Celebration!
by Rachel Duong

IMG_4825

It's a birthday celebration! Hi, I am Rachel, back with a card using the latest Poppystamps release. I cannot express how much fun these party goods are to create with. The dies have happy, joy and yum written all over them. So I can't wait any longer, let me tell you how I made this card!

IMG_4814

I began my card with the background. I die cut the Poppystamps "Scallop Pinpoint Rings" using three shades of purplish pinks. After I decided which colors go where, I glued them down to a light grey cardbase.

IMG_4782

Next I die cut tons of pieces from the "Corner Shoppe Birthday Treats", the "Corner Shoppe Birthday Celebrations", and the "Corner Shoppe Dessert Stand". I used many colors, glitters and pearlized papers. Fun was putting the color combinations together!IMG_4772

I used pearlized silver for the display stands and pearlized gold for the coverings on them. Then I heat embossed the sentiment in silver. The die comes with the stamp set. For an accent, I cut a fine strip of silver glitter to add over the top of the sentiment.

The candles on the cake are die cut in pearlized white. I embellished the flames with Stickles yellow and orange glitter glue. The banners are cut in many papers, I also die cut two in the purplish pink papers and left in one layer to act as a background. I added jewels on the pearlized green streamer!IMG_4759

I arranged the cupcakes so that each base was a different color. I mixed up the sizes but kept them symmetrical. I added cupcakes at the bottom to fill in empty space and two jewels for balance.

The sparkle and shine of these amazing papers add so much dimension to this awesome card.  I had the happiest time putting these desserts together. And it made me hungry!

IMG_4816

I hope you grab a few of these die sets. I can think of so many fun ideas to try! Also, there are more pieces I can't wait to play with. The cake comes with another layer and balloons too! Oh, did I mention there are ice cream cones too?!

Have a great day. Celebrate something fun today. I am celebrating spring!

PSC#112 Challenge Reminder - Sparkling New Year!
by Sphoorti

IMG_5436

Hello Poppy Peeps!

It's Sphoorti with a gentle reminder of this month's challenge - PSC#112 - Sparkling New Year! This month we're looking for some SPARKLE! We hope that gets you thinking of fireworks, a little confetti, or maybe some bubbly! Even if you're ringing in the new year comfy cozy at home, and watching the snow fall and sparkle in the sun, we want you to capture the magic. Just add some glitter, gems or foil to your design so we can watch you shine this year!

Projects can be for any occasion, and you're not limited to making cards. We welcome home décor, page layouts, tags and everything in between! It's your choice, just be sure to use at least one Poppystamps die on your project! You must use a Poppystamps product to be eligible to win.

This was my take on the challenge, and such a quick and easy one - it's another that you can totally mass produce this for the holidays! It's actually even faster than the one I had in my previous challenge post, check it out here!

Hope you like it!

Did you know you can use dies to hot foil? I absolutely love the design of the 2574 Scandinavian Snowflake Plate craft die and thought I'd try to see how it would look hot foiled. It turned out even better than I'd imagined! I've said it before, and I'll say it again - this die is SO beautiful!

Using some silver mirror cardstock from the FP1003 Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6 pack, I die cut a strip to adhere a sentiment on. I took a piece of vellum and adhered it to the back of the strip and foam mounted it for some dimension.

Then I used the CB513 Christmas Banners clear stamp and die set to emboss the Happy New Year sentiment and die cut it. I adhered the sentiment to the foiled band and adhered it towards the bottom of the card.

And actually, that was it! So easy-peasy!

I actually have a bonus card for you too! It came together even quicker than the one above! For this one, I hot foiled the 2574 Scandinavian Snowflake Plate craft die plate the same way, but for the sentiment, I used the die cuts from the and old JOY sentiment die that is no longer available, unfortunately. But the Snowflake Plate still is, so be sure to get one before it's gone!

Now it's your turn to take on the Sparkling New Year challenge! Need a little more motivation? How about a prize? The winner of this challenge (chosen at random) will receive a $20 Gift Certificate to spend on their favorites from the store! Remember - projects can be for any occasion, and you're not limited to making cards. We welcome home décor, page layouts, tags and everything in between! It's your choice, just be sure to use at least one Poppystamps die on your project!

Have a great rest of your week, and good luck!

Love,

Sphoorti

PSC Challenge #112 Reminder Sparkling New Year
by Jyoti Adhikari

Hello crafty peeps! Jyoti here with a reminder for all of the crafty enthusiasts to join us with the PSC #112.

Ring in the new year with glitter, sparkle, and crafting joy. I'm excited to share my latest creation for the Poppystamps Challenge #112, where we're celebrating the theme of "Sparkling New Year." Join me on this crafting adventure and be sure to check out the inspiring designs from our guest designer, Cari Scharping, and other talented crafters on the Poppystamps.

Creating the Nordic Crown Flowers:

The focal point of my card is the enchanting Nordic Crown Flower Craft Die from the January 2024 release. Using three different shades of light blue card-stock, I crafted beautiful blooms, varying their appearance for added charm. Die cutting and assembling these flowers was intensely therapeutic. The stems and leaves were also cut with the same shades of blue. This step set the stage for a dazzling floral display. And who says New Year's card has to be stars or starbursts? If you love flowers you love floral New Year's card.

Designing the Sparkling Background:

To enhance the sparkling theme, I carefully selected a pattern paper from the Anemone Grove 6 by 6 paper pad by Memory Box in shade that matched my blue. Adding a touch of festive glimmer, I incorporated a strip of white glitter paper from the Festive Glitter Pad, creating a vibrant contrast. A slim matting of the darkest blue cardstock added definition, accentuating the separation between the pattern paper and the glitter strip.

Sparkling new year.2

Arranging the Blooms and Sentiment:

First, I adhered the pattern paper on my card-base using glue. Placing the matted glitter strip at the center of the card with the help of foam tape, I arranged the Nordic Crown Flowers with one turned up and the other down, creating a captivating mirror effect.

For a New Year's greeting, I utilized the Christmas Banners Clear Stamp, embossing the sentiment "Happy New Year" on a medium blue card-stock strip with gold embossing powder. The gold foiling of the sentiment complemented the glitter paper, tying the elements together seamlessly. Matted with a darker blue card-stock, the sentiment found its perfect spot at the heart of the card.

Adding Sparkle and Final Touches:

To continue the sparkling theme, I adorned the flower petals with blue jewels, creating a mesmerizing embellishment. Two additional jewels on either side of the sentiment strip added balance and a touch of glamour.

Winter Greetings
by Lisa Elton

23 1002 006 copy

Hello and Happy New Year! I'm here today with a pair of winter cards just perfect for sending warm winter wishes to family or friends. They feature the wonderful Nordic Bears. I die cut a pair of bears and dressed them up in colors to coordinate with paper I picked from the Memory Box Poinsettia Garland paper pad.

23 1002 010 copy

The first little lady was tucked into a Scalloped Stitched Frame that was backed with the Scandinavian Snowflake background. This panel was popped onto a card base covered with more pretty paper from the same 6x6 pad. I like that she seems to be nodding to the sentiment banner!

23 1002 005 copy

Okay, lets take a look at where her twin sister ended up, shall we! More of that pretty paper was cut with the large Scalloped Stitched Frame. Not wanting one bit of that fabulous paper to be left out, I used all of the pieces from the die cuts.

23 1002 007 copy

For this one, I placed her into a glittery snow globe! I grounded the globe with one of the lovely Nordic Borders and added a banner sentiment to wish the recipient a Happy New Year.

23 1002 008 copy

The background in the globe was made using The Scandinavian Snowflake Plate and glitter paper. The shadow portion of the polar bear was cut with vellum. I think it adds just a touch of softness to the card. This twin is dressed up for her New Year's celebration. She's in a fancy snow globe so she needed a little glitz!

23 1002 013 copy

Aren't they a sweet pair? Both of the pretty little sentiments are included in the Christmas Banners clear stamps and die set. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. We love it when you do!
