Foil & Cut Sentiments
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0269 3_wm

Good Sunday morning to you! I have a two-fer set of cards for you, showcasing the fabulous new Foil & Cut sentiments in the shop now.

DSC_0263_wm

Clearly the star of my card, the Big Bold sentiment, foiled and perfectly die cut, framed by posies and scallop frame.

DSC_0262 2_wm

I foiled the sentiment in red foil onto pink cardstock, then positioned my die over the words and voila! Perfectly cut. I added foam to the back before adding it to my heart foiled background panel.

Posies were sponge inked on the edges, and glued to vellum cuts. So many new layered flower dies out now, fun to add, and great to combine on cards.

The red, Big Hugs card is a valentine and already in the mail!

Foiling is so hot right now, and clearly makes a bright happy statement on a card. Hope this gave you some ideas for your next foiled card!

Be well, sweet friends!

For You

Hello and welcome. It's the season of love, and I'm here reminding you Poppy has some love-ly new dies to grace your cards and tags.

DSC_0266

The centerpiece of my card features a striking white and red heart, with layered blooms and die cut sentiment. My blooms are from the new Floral Vase Pop Up.

DSC_0259

I started by foiling shimmer cardstock, and die cutting all my elements. I stuck to mostly Valentine colors: red, pink and white.

And I used shimmery and glittered cardstock.

I hope the recipient feels the love when he/she receives this card! And I hope you are inspired to put some bling on your Valentines!

Happy Valentines!

Need a little inspiration?  Here are some samples from our design team.  Want a closer look?   No worries.. we'll be featuring these projects on Wednesdays throughout the month, so you can see how each project was created.

Meet our February guest designer selected and introduced by Nancy on our Design Team.  Colleen became a friend during a stay at the Craft house in Kansas.  I came to love her joy for crafting and her faith in our Lord! She is so talented, and introduced me to some wonderful products (I know, dangerous crafty friends!), and we have kept in touch ever since. I know you'll enjoy her beautiful card, and be sure to send her some love!

Hi, I am Colleen and I live in Oregon with my husband of 51 years! I have two daughters, one lives next door to me with 4 children (21-19-15–2 years!) and the other daughter lives 1 ½ miles from me with 3 children (23-15-13) I love making cards and mailing them to family and friends. I sell the cards to my bible study ladies and donate all the money to good causes. This year I was able to purchase 21 winter coats for children ages 3 – 14 along with knitted hats and gloves for them. I am so thankful I can provide the cards and then give back to others. I am blessed and I have met so many wonderful friends through this community of card makers. It has enriched my life and blessed me more than I ever imagined!

A Thank You from the Heart
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0263
Have you seen the new Foil Plates in the Poppystamps store? Hi and welcome to my post today. I'm smitten with the Leaf and Tendril Foil Craft Plate. Keep reading and you'll see why.

DSC_0259_wmI made a thank you card with a panel done with the foil plate, using a silvery foil onto Memory Box's pink cardstock, (By the way, if you haven't checked out the 110 lb. cardstock color packs, when you're done reading this post, run right over to MB and shop!)

DSC_0264

I paired my bright and blingy card base with glitter and mirror cardstock die cuts. And added a vellum heart behind the sentiment.

DSC_0260_wm

I love how the foil plays with any color it's near!

DSC_0293

I added a contrasting teal shimmer cardstock to the leaves and paper pieced my framed heart.

DSC_0294 3

While  my foil machine was out, I played with foiling on other colors as well. Wanted you to see how beautiful they all turned out. Love having them on hand for future projects!

Take care my friends. Hope you enjoyed today's post, and hope you'll check out all the foil plates in the Poppystamps shop!

Sending Love.
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0252

Happy New Year, and welcome. A new year brings new holidays and Poppystamps has some new sets in the shop for Valentines.

DSC_0241_wm

One of my  favorites is the new Vintage Scalloped Heart die set. A lovely 2 piece set that resembles a sweet box of chocolates when put together.

DSC_0247

The sentiment 'Sending Love' is another of the new dies, and. look how perfect it fit within the heart.

DSC_0255

I didn't want my background to compete with the gorgeous heart, so I stenciled a panel is pale pinks, and to dull it even more, edged and added more pink with my ink blending brush.

DSC_0258

This is a technique I love to do. It adds textural interest but doesn't overpower the main focal point.

DSC_0245_wm

I'd love to know what you think of the newest heart die set. Let me know in the comment section.

Hope you enjoyed today's post, and hope your New Year is off to a great crafty start!

Joy
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0251

Christmas Greetings to all!  Do you need a fun last minute holiday card? I have a shaker for you today.

DSC_0243

The new Stacked Joy die cuts all 3 letters of the word Joy together. I die cut once in gold and 5 times in black. Be sure and keep the center of the letter 'O'. You won't need the black.

DSC_0245

I used the top gold die cut and glued it to clear card stock before fussy cutting around each letter.

DSC_0257_wm

The finished shaker is filled with tiny sequins, and the gold with the clear cardstock is glued over the frame.

DSC_0248_wm

I hope you enjoyed today's simpler card. I think any shaker is a joy for the recipient, don't you? Have a great holiday week!
