If The Shoe Fits Part Deux
by Nancy Penir

Fall Greetings, Poppy friends, and welcome to my second post using the fabulously vampy Witch's Shoe. This. time perched as a cake topper. Still plenty of bling of course, and using every bit of a slimline length.

The card is 3 1/2 x 8" and I added strips of background color just a wee bit smaller so I'd have a white frame.

My pumpkin  is first backed by yellow, then again in dark green. I then gave it a coat of Glossy Accents.

If you're looking for glitter paper cardstock, head on over to Memory Box and check out all the paper pads they have for you.

I suggest you get as many as you can, the holidays are right around the corner! (No pressure, LOL)

The flowers got a spray of shimmer for added sparkle.

Couldn't resist creating a matching envelope for my slimline Halloween card.

Hope you enjoyed this post today, and are inspired to play with some of fun new die sets in the Poppystamps store!

You Are the Sweetest
by Nancy Penir

Hello and welcome! Nancy here, and I have one last summer card for you, before pumpkin season takes over.

I have geraniums in my garden, do you? Our extreme dry heat takes them out in late summer, so I couldn't find one plant blooming, to post a picture of their beauty for you. Their thick lush leaves grow together blanketing the soil, and the flowers grow high on sturdy stems. I wanted to capture that for my card.

All pieces were cut from white cardstock and sponge inked. That way I could assemble the blooms from deeply inked to pale.

The sentiment is black embossed onto clear cardstock. Be sure to use heat resistant clear cardstock so the heat doesn't warp it.

Layered and dimensional, I will certainly handmake a custom envelope.

Are your cards taking a turn toward autumn? Sometimes saying goodby to summers bright colors is bittersweet. At least my cards are still blooming! Have a wonderful week!

If The Shoe Fits...
by Nancy Penir

With Fall right around the corner, and Halloween sneaking in too, Poppystamps has some new dies in the shop to, well, to die for!

The new 'Witches Shoe' can be dressed up, filled up or glammed up just about any way you like! I've paired my glittered shoe with some other new dies from the shop, and this new Jack O Lantern Frame, that I altered to fit my Mini slimline card.

First I cut the frame out twice from orange glitter card stock.

Then I positioned the corners of the cut up frame where I wanted them on the card. Notice the edges of the cut from are cut on a

diagonal, which fits seamlessly together. Then I added the piece cut to size all fitted around the card.

I've already  created another shoe card with this die, and I'll post it next time for you. It's just too cute! All product used is listed below for you, and is ready for purchase in the shop. Have a wonderful weekend!

Christmas in August? Why Not!
by Nancy Penir

Well, it's official... I've finally started my Holiday cards! What's that you say? Shouldn't July be the kickoff for all things holiday?

It's Christmas in August today with my Poppystamps snow globe card. Here's how I did it...

I die cut all my pieces from Poppystamps card stock, and inked the round snow globe sky blue.

The little scene I created is a pop up easel, so festive with the glitter trees and snowfolk! See the snow on the rooftop? Here's how I created it.

When I die cut the fir trees, a scallop edge was left on either side. I just used that negative piece, cut it down to fit the roof of my townhome, and voila! Snow on the roof!

Here's a closeup of the snowglobe scene, with the snowy roof. See the wreath on the door? When you cut out the holly and berries, use one of the berries, and choose a hole punch, small one of course, to cut out the center. A perfect door wreath!

I love to create my own envelopes to match my cards, and that's what you see here, behind the card. I use Christmas wrapping paper, with the pattern on the inside, and lines on the outside. Pretty cool, huh?

The reverse side of the envelope, has a few of the snow globes die cuts glued onto a corner.

Well that's my Christmas card kickoff. This was so quick and easy with Poppystamps' papers. Think I'll do a few more!

Hope you got some holiday card inspiration. Have a great week!

Hi! Have you seen the beautiful cards the designers have made with the large Stained Glass Butterfly?

I couldn't wait to give it a try. It's a 3 piece die set, with butterfly wings that give you several decorating options. Here's what I did.

After cutting my wings, top and bottom, I distress oxide inked the solid piece with Uncharted Mariner, and gave it a quick light spray with shimmer. The top was inked with Spun Sugar, versa marked, and clear embossed. Then I lightly added Nuvo Glimmer Paste, for further shimmer.

The sentiment and butterfly body cut from glitter paper. The flowers were cut twice, once from blue vellum, and again from white vellum, before assembling.

Such a fun card to make and receive, don't you think? Be sure to check out some other ways to use this beautiful butterfly die by scrolling through the blog. I think the designers really rocked this one! Have a wonderful week!

Happy 4th!
by Nancy Penir

Hi and welcome! It's time to celebrate in the USA, and I've 'baked' a cake card for all to share!

DSC_0197 2_wm

Poppy's fabulous Floral Cake Pop Up Easel Set is so much fun to use, but it's also fabulously versatile.

All the pieces for this card (with the exception of the sentiments) are included in the set. No stamping necessary (unless you want to of course!). The designers have been knocking this set out of the park! Be sure to scroll through the blog for more fabulous ideas.

I love the bright red, white and blue all die cut and shinning bright on this card!

I won't keep you, don't let those burgers and hot dogs burn on the grill!

Happy 4th of July, my American friends! And all you out there too! Who needs an excuse to celebrate!
