Foil and Cut Die Sets from Poppystamps
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0211

Hello, Poppystamps friends! Are you a fan of foiling? Well you're going to love today's post. I want to introduce one of Poppystamps' newest: Foil and Cut Die sets.

The Foil and Cut sets let you foil the image onto cardstock, and then die them perfectly.

Birthday Wishes set has 3 foil and Cut sentiments.

Nothing else captures the professional look of foiling, and Poppystamps Poe Script is both elegant and decorative.

I've paired my foiled die cut with the new Brilliant Geraniums. One of my favorite spring flowers.

DSC_0194

I have geraniums in all colors and shapes in my garden. The new die set allows you to add petals and pop them up with layering... so many creative possibilities!

DSC_0219

First die cut in white cardstock, I sponge inked the leaves and petals, and then added some depth with colored pencils. I bent up the top layers of petals, and then added colored dewdrops in the centers.

If you enjoy foiling, see this and other new Foil and Cut Die Sets in the Poppystamps store. Be warned, you won't want to stop with one set!

Hanging Basket
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0209

Greetings all my Poppystamps friends! Nancy here, and I have a card to share with you, that gives the illusion of a hanging basket.

DSC_0205_wm

All of us have dies in our collection that can do double duty, right? I came across a card on Pinterest (one of my favorite spots for inspiration), and decided to give it a try. Poppystamps has so many sweet floral dies, and many leafy ones too. I went through my stash and gathered all the supplies I thought would be fun in a hanging basket. Note: All supplies listed below.

DSC_0191

Have you seen all the wonderful paper packs in our sister store, Memory Box? So many colors and hues to play with! I chose 2 greens from the Lush Green Collection.

DSC_0197

Like my chain? Let me tell you how I made it. DSC_0193

I found a border die, that looked like a chain, but was straight on one edge. Turing it around, and carefully lining up the scallop and holes, I ran it through the die cutter again to create my chain.

DSC_0195

What do you think? Looks like a chain, right? Maybe just a straight strip would also do the trick.

DSC_0205_wm

I had a need for a sympathy card, something I didn't seem to have handy. Hopefully this will bring cheer!

Take care, and see how you can give double duty to those dies!

Challenge Reminder #91: Add Texture
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0013

Greetings Poppy Peeps! Hope your spring is full of sunshine and bright with color. Nancy here and I'm posting to remind you of our Challenge this month, 'Add Texture'.

6a01157003623c970c02788073fb60200d

There are so many ways to add texture to your projects and cards, and I'm going to show you one of favorites. I'm sure you're all familiar with this, but just in case, here's a reminder.

DSC_0009

The Memory Box family has several deep pocket embossing folders, which add great impressions when run through your machines. I love to roll on further texture with a brayer and ink pads. It's a rather a reverse emboss, and the color is applied onto the standup portions of the folder.

DSC_0017_wm

Lots of depth as well as texture on the background. But I didn't stop there. Layers, glitter paper, lifting die cut petals, and rhinestones also add texture.

DSC_0020

A closeup of the flowers lets you see detailed copic shading, and the addition of glitter drops and rhinestones.

DSC_0018

The unicorn's crown wreath is also added texture, built from tiny posies, and leaves.

DSC_0011

What's your favorite texture to use? We'd love to see it!

Want to play?

The rules are simple - just create a project following the theme, use at least one Poppystamps image or die, and link it up here. The design we love best will receive our winner badge to proudly display on their blog, and one lucky random winner will receive a prize. You don't have to have a blog to play.  You can link to any online gallery. Easter Bunny Basket tags
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0014

Hello, Peeps! Are you enjoying spring break? With all the kiddies home, and Easter a few days away, I made some Easter basket tags I hope you'll enjoy.

DSC_0024_wm

These are large, and assemble rather quickly with the pieces die cut and ready to go.

DSC_0017

I began by die cutting Whittle Cutie Rabbit in several of the plaid papers. These would be doubled with coordinating solid colors.

DSC_0027

Rather than a tag die, I used the Basic Ovals to create my own die. That way it accommodated the elements in my design. Also

the grass was extended and shaped on the bottom like the shape of an egg.

DSC_0005 2_wm

It really stands out on the basket handle. My eggs are from my home grown chickens that lay Easter eggs! Blues and greens, browns and whites. They all taste the same, just the shells are different, and such a treat to gather each morning!

DSC_0030

All my supplies are listed below, and the links take you to the shop. With lots of pieces already die cut, the tags go quickly. One note: The floral piece on the bottom right was first cut from white cardstock, then the 2 purples and green. The colored pieces were then cut and added to the base white.

Hope you were inspired to create some tags for your Easter baskets. Have a wonderful, happy, Blessed Easter!

Spring Flower Basket
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0019

Happy Spring to all of you! Nancy here and I have a spring card to share using some of the new dies from Poppystamps and some of the oldies too.

DSC_0015_wm

Poppystamps' Woven Basket Pop Up die set can also be a focal point for a regular size A2 card. For my card I used a white die cut of the basket, and shaded it with pink distress ink. All the elements for this card can be found below and link directly to the shop for purchase.

DSC_0016

I used lots of layers, but no foam tape. The sweet little posies are from the new Potpourri Flower Set.

DSC_0017

The new flower dies are so versatile, and can be doubled or tripled for layered impact.

DSC_0011_wm

Look through you older sets and see for yourself how great combining sets can be!

Happy crafting!

Hello, I am a transplanter from Hong Kong, have been living in Canada for over 40 years. I am retired from being programmer analyst and spend most of my time paper crafting. I am addicted, I know!! LOL I also like making travel album and lately venturing into mix-media projects. I find my inspirations from challenge blogs, and Pinterest. But sometimes, when I am really stumped, I picked a product and start from there.
