For Somebunny Special
By Meghan Kennihan

Hi Crafty Friends,
I have a sweet bunny card for you today featuring Poppy Stamps Nordic Bundle Bunny Die & Nordic Bunny Die. Bunnies don't have to be just for Easter, they are perfect for spring too.

Make Crafty Friends:
Q: Which bunny below is your favorite?
A: Me? I like the regular Nordic Bunny

Step #1: I started my card by creating my Nordic Bunnies in shades of purple from the Poppy Stamps Twilight Purple Paper Pad. I also die cut the Poppy Stamps "For Some Bunny Special" sentiment in the darkest shade of purple.

Step #2: I chose a beautiful white and purple foliage pattern paper from the Memory Box Glimmering Gladiola for my background.

Step #3: I wanted to add more texture to my design so I added the Nordic Heart Die in white to my background.

Step #4: I added my sentiment to the bottom right corner. I put the Nordic Bundled Bunny on top of the sentiment and the Nordic Bunny to the left of the sentiment. I finished my card by added three gems to the top right and three gems to the bottom left of my card.

by Sphoorti

Hello, crafty friends! Sphoorti here with a monochromatic holiday card that features a lovely green ombre effect and a touch of gilded elegance. This card was a real game-changer for me, as it brought my crafty mojo back to life after a little creative lull. The addition of gold foil details really takes the design to the next level and adds that special festive touch!

Dry Embossing the Background with the Nordic Lacy Plate

To begin this card, I used the beautiful 2615 Nordic Lacy Plate craft die for the background. This intricate design really sets the stage for the entire card, giving it a textured, lacy feel that feels both modern and timeless. The details in the die cut allow for the ink and foil to really shine through!

Creating the Ombre Effect

Once I had the background die cut, I used a combination of Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn, and Twisted Citron distress inks to create a smooth ombre effect.

Adding Gilded Foil Details with Sakura Quickie Glue Pen

This panel had been sitting on my desk for a few months, but one day, as I was searching for a way to bring it to life, I spotted my Sakura Quickie Glue pen. I decided to get a little creative and started dotting the dots and filling in the little ovals of the design with the glue. Once the glue was dry, I used some gold DecoFoil to foil those spots, which added a gorgeous gilded effect. It was this small decision that ended up bringing me my mojo back, and I’m so happy I gave it that extra shine! The gold foil really makes the details pop and truly was worth the meticulous effort. Here's the panel with the gilding in action!

Sentiment & Frame

For the sentiment, I used the Merry Christmas Moonlight Script die, which unfortunately is no longer available. However, there are still other holiday-themed moonlight script dies available that work just as well. I recommend the 2598 Happy Holidays Moonlight Script craft die as a great alternative.

The frame in the middle of the card was created using the Scalloped Stitch Frames Die Set, which was also discontinued. But no worries! You can substitute with any frame dies you have on hand. I used this frame to highlight the sentiment and give the design a bit of structure without overwhelming the delicate background.

Would You Try It?

If you’ve been looking for an easy way to add gilded elements to your designs, I highly recommend using a glue pen and foil to create custom accents. It’s a simple technique that adds so much personality and shine to any project. Let me know if you’ve ever tried foiling or creating ombre effects, and I’d love to hear how it worked for you!

Happy crafting, and I hope this card brings some inspiration for your holiday projects!

Love,

Sphoorti

The Candles Are Lit
by Rachel Duong

IMG_7721The candles are lit and we're ready to eat! Hello, it's Rachel here with a birthday card featuring Poppystamps latest release "Basic Birthday Candles" and "Happy Birthday Streamer Script" die sets. You might wonder where the cake is-- thats for another day. IMG_7715

To create this card I chose three coordinating papers in shades of green from the "Birthday Fun Pack" printed paper for the Poppystamps "Basic Birthday Candles".  I die cut the flames with 2 shades of gold glitter.  (The paper is listed below.) I reinforced each piece with another layer underneath.

Next I die cut the "Scallop Pinpoint Rings" in a heavy vellum and white cardstock. Then I trimmed the patterned green paper slightly smaller than an A2 size and glued it onto a white cardbase.

I arranged the candles to look as if i just set them down. I glued the flames to the candles.  I die cut the birthday sentiment out of white paper and then the outline in heavy vellum. I used dimensionals under the sentiment to pop it up.IMG_7713I adhered the sentiment covering the lower portion of the candles.

Finally I placed Fairy drops randomly on the card. They look like bubbles! The clear embellishments enhance the design without competition.

This card is somewhat of a monochromatic style. The various shades of green and the neutral white makes it fit into the category minus the flames on the candles.

IMG_7730Birthday cards are the most popular cards to make, and such a happy occasion too! It's fun to experiment with color and unplanned, slightly scattered arrangements. Until next time, have a fantastic day with all the things you love to do! Don't forget to check out the Poppystamps birthday release full of sweet treats and goodies.

White on White!
by Sphoorti

Hello Poppy Peeps!

It's Sphoorti again! With December's snow and wintery vibes, I decided to create a white-on-white card. It involved quite a bit of die cutting, but I had a blast putting it together! And the best part is - you can use any die set you have that can cut flowers!

IMG_4218

I began by die cutting a bunch of flowers from white cardstock using the 2622 Flower and Leaf Sprinkles die. I also used some of the floral dies from the 2469 Floral Vase Popup Die Set. It helped speed up the flower die-cutting process. Next, I cut out some rings with the 2613 Nordic Pattern Ring die set. To make it easier, I added double-sided adhesive to the back of the rings, which allowed me to stick the flowers down without needing liquid glue.

IMG_4216

To give the flowers some dimension, I used a blunt-ended pointy tool and gently pressed on the centers of the flowers while they were resting on a mouse pad. This helped them "pop" a little more. After that, I adhered the flowers to the Nordic rings and added pearls to some of the flower centers for a bit of extra elegance.

Once the rings were attached to my card base, I felt like the white space needed a bit more texture. So, I turned to the 2609 Scallop Pinpoint Rings die set and cut out a few additional rings from the same white card stock. These went into some of the open areas to balance out the design.

Finally, I added a leftover sentiment from the PSF808 Modest Greetings 2 Hot Foil Plate and Die, which I had foiled in gold on plain white card stock. And that was it!

It’s got a bit of a wedding card feel, don’t you think? While I don’t have any weddings coming up, I kept the sentiment general. What do you think of the finished look?

Hope you liked the card! Thank you for visiting! Please be sure to post a comment, we love seeing them!

Love,

Sphoorti
