Hello Christmas
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Christmas! Ho Ho Ho! Everybody's waiting for the man with the bag, so I just had to add him to this fun holiday shaker card! Isn't it jolly?

This holly jolly shaker was so much fun to make! I started out by cutting out the Holly Frame and Stencil in holiday green, and the Whittle Santa Face in red, white, and beige.

I traced and cut the background paper from this beautiful new cardstock from Memory Box, which features these tiny little holly and berry images! Adorable!

I lined up the shaker circle and used the Double Stitch Circle Frames to create the shaker card opening on my holly and berry background panel.

New this year from Memory Box are super sticky and wide washi tapes! I taped the snowflake washi over a piece of light grey cardstock, then cut a square to fit behind my shaker window.

Then I loaded up my shaker with a sparkly holiday sequin mix, using snowflakes, red, green, blue, and pink sequins. It really looks festive against the light grey and the snowflakes of the washi tape.

I added a little pink blush to Santa's cheeks with a cotton swab and my favorite ink, stacked up three mustaches, and topped off Santa's hat with a tiny white pom pon. Ho Ho Ho!

Adhere Santa to the front of your acetate window, add the Hello Outline and a few sequins and you are ready to say Hello Christmas!

Thanks so much for joining us today!

A Purrrrfect Holiday Blog Blitz
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Friends!

We are all so happy to hear how much you are all enjoying our Holiday Blog Blitz! Today, I am sharing a purrrrrrfectly delightful holiday card made with my favorite die from the new release, Whittle Jumping Kitty! Take a look!

You all know how much I love kitties, and the new Whittle Jumping Kitty is extra special. The die set includes both the front and the back view of the kitty, along with that fuzzy tail. I created a super clean and layered look for a modern holiday design.

I started by cutting all the teeny tiny pieces I needed for my card, which included two kitties, the tail, the Whittle Stocking pieces, the tiny trees from the Mountain Background, and all the components of the Whittle Fireplace, all enclosed in the Pointed Rectangle Frames.

I cut the Whittle Jumping Kitty in grey, added the tiny tail, and then put him on the white brick fireplace. Would you believe I had a cat that used to LOVE climbing up the brick fireplace just like that? Then I cut the front of the kitty, also in grey, and then trimmed off the legs so he would fit inside the bright pink stocking.

Now you've got two kitties, one a bit naughty, and one a bit nice!

I assembled all the fireplace components, and added the tiny tree trio on the mantle! Too cute! What could that little naughty kitty be jumping for? That little Christmas mouse that comes with the Whittle Fireplace set!

Surprise! Today's prize is The Whittle Jumping Kitty! The Holiday Blog Blitz runs from November 2-14. We are giving away some very sweet holiday blog candy on every blog blitz post during this time. Hello Crafty Friends!

We are so happy that you stopped by today! I have a super cute little Halloween scene to share with you. I just fell in love with the Surprise Skeleton, and thought he would look adorable if he were surprised by a few of his spooky friends. Take a look!

Our Surprise Skeleton takes a peek out the window and sees the Whittle Ghost! The Whittle Pumpkins join in on the fun!

To create this card, start with a background panel embossed with your favorite brick wall pattern, then line up the Cottage Window die right in the center.

After the window is cut, then stack up all of your card pieces. I used two different sheets of vellum, one yellow and one a pretty grey diamond pattern. The vellum sheets are glued onto your card base, then the embossed wall piece. Trim the Surprise Skeleton from the circle and add him behind the windows.

Cut out the Whittle Ghost, the Whittle Pumpkins, Winter Berries, and Autumn Leaf Set, and arrange them on your card, creating a fun little Halloween scene.

Even my cat, Omar Kitty, decided to join in on the fun!

Thanks so much for joining us today! Happy Halloween!

Enchanted Challenge with Poppystamps
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Friends!

Are you playing along with our Poppystamps October Challenge! This month, the theme is Enchanted, and today, I am sharing my sweet little Enchanted Kitty card! Take a look!

I created this Enchanted Kitty card with just a few new dies and my favorite Distress Oxide Inks. Blending oxide inks are easy and fun too! I started with the center, and worked my way out toward the outside edges using greens, blues, and some purple. When the inks were dry, I splashed them with a few water drops off a paintbrush, causing the inks to react and blend. That's the fun part.

I then inked and splashed a second piece out of yellows and oranges to cut out the full moon, using the center of the Stitchwork Circle Frames.

While the ink and water were drying, I cut out the pumpkin pieces from the Pumpkin patch Sidekick Frame and Stencil. I cut different pumpkins in shades of orange, vines and leaves in green, then inked the edges of both the pumpkins and the leaves.

After all the pieces were cut out and inked, I assembled and glued the row of pumpkins, the vines and leaf bits, and the Peek a Boo Kitty in one long line, then glued that onto my background panel.

Add your big cheesy moon and a few sequins, and voila! Let the magic happen!

Now it's your turn! We can't wait to see what you will create! Make a card using at least one Poppystamps die or stamp, link it up here with our Challenge Badge, and your project might be randomly selected to win some marvelous blog candy!

Thanks so much for joining us today!

2019 CLH Badge1

I have created a fun Poppystamps Cat Lovers card to cheer our favorite feline friends! Take a look!

These sweet little Whittle Jumping Kitties have something to get excited about! National Cat Day is October 29, and these kitties have started the celebration early! I created a fun shaker card using the new Cottage Window, the Whittle Jumping Kitty, Autumn Leaf Set, and Whittle Maple Leaf.

If you are brand new to shaker cards, the concept is easy to grasp. On the left, you can see my card base, my yellow vellum background piece, and a small sprinkling of sequins with one kitty glued in place. On the right, you can seem cut foam pieces glued on to the back of my front panel, with the clear plastic piece for the window, and another kitty glues to the front. Add glue to the green foam, adhere the cards together, and you have a shaker card! I like how it looks like one kitty is in the front, and one kitty is in the back.

I used the Cottage Window on the front of the shaker element, and added a few colorful leaves from the Autumn Leaf Set and the Whittle Maple Leaf.

When it is all assembled, it looks like the kitties are jumping after all the colorful sequins floating through the air! It makes a noise my kitties are curious about every time I shake it too!

But that's not all! We promised some purrrrfectly wonderful blog candy too! Poppystamps is giving away the Happy Halloween Cat and the Friendly Cat, beautiful steel craft dies you will use again and again!

Leave a comment here on the Poppystamps blog, then head over to Her Peaceful Garden for all the details on how you can win more fun feline prizes!

Thanks so much for joining us today!

UPDATE:   Congratulations..  And the winner is...

How cute is your kitty looking in the window! Fabulous fall shaker card! Thank you too Poppystamps for being a sponsor at the Cat Lovers 2019 Hop. I look forward to it each year! :)

Pumpkin Moon
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Friends!

We are thrilled you have dropped by today! Today, I am sharing a delightfully spooky little card perfect for Halloween! I love the brand new Village Houses, and I thought they would look a little bit spooky under a big, bright, pumpkin moon, created with the Smiling Jack o Lantern. Take a look!

I used a few of my favorite tips and tricks to create this colorful card. I love the idea of the great pumpkin visible in the glitzy moon, rising above the tiny village. To create this card, you will need the Double Stitch Square Frames, Smiling Jack o Lantern, Autumn Leaf Set, and Village Houses. You will also need your favorite Halloween yardstick, and your alcohol inks. I used shades of green, blue, yellow, red, and a touch of purple.

I'm not sure what I was thinking when I made this background panel out of alcohol inks and YUPO paper. This large scrap was actually tucked away in a little box where I keep the YUPO paper and pieces, and when I saw that shiny blend of greens and blues, I thought it would make a weirdly wonderful Halloween sky. I cut a piece large enough to fit behind a black cardstock Double Stitch Square Frame.

On a project with a lot of tiny cuts, I usually cut everything out before I start gluing. Sometimes, I may even cut two or three versions in different colors, just to make sure I have the right color combination. If you look closely, you'll see I originally planned on a shiny Bazzil cardstock for the Smiling Jack o Lantern, then changed it to orange glitter paper for the finished look.

To create the look of lights in the Village Houses, I cut tiny squares of yellow big enough to cover the window openings, yet small enough not to extend beyond the edges of the houses. Be careful not to get any glue in the window!

The Smiling Jack o Lantern is a unique die. It cuts out the moon and the facial features from the pumpkin, but the pumpkin is still attached in two points, creating a cool effect. So I made the cut directly onto my YUPO paper background panel. Then I cut the Jack o Lantern again in glitter yellow paper, then a third time in glitter orange paper. I adhered the YUPO paper onto my card base, then added the yellow moon. Once they were in place, I added the glitter orange pumpkin directly on top of the alcohol inked pumpkin with tiny pieces of foam pop dots. The result is a shiny Jack o Lantern face floating in front of a glittery moon.

Add your tiny village underneath the moon, along with a few leaves from the Autumn leaf Set, cut in shades of purple and maroon. A few purple sequins and Hocus Pocus! Let the spooky fun begin!

Thanks so much for joining us today! Keep it spooky!

Shiny Noel
by Michele K. Henderson

Happy Holidays! Our amazing double holiday blog blitz is sparkling along, and today, I am sharing a beautiful, easy breezy card with a traditional holiday feel. Our Holiday Blog Blitz began September 19, and just like our Fall/Halloween Blog Blitz, we are offering amazing blog candy and giveaways every day! All you need to do is leave a comment and you could win the die or stamp set featured that day! That's MY idea of a Holiday treat!

I love all the colors of the winter holidays, but this Festive Noel die has a traditional holiday vibe for me, so I decided to use traditional holiday colors, red and green foil paper! I cut the Festive Noel twice, once in red and once in silver. I then cut the Holly Vine Sidekick Frame out of green foil, then carefully pieced everything together against a light silvery white glitter background. I must have tried a dozen different background papers until I found the one that was just right for this project. This color combination works for me, and all that shiny foil reminds me of vintage holiday ornaments and decorations. The Festive Noel fits perfectly in the frame of the Holly Vine.

Now it's your chance to win this amazing Festive Noel die to add to your holiday collection. Simply leave a comment on THIS post before midnight on October 2, and you might be selected to receive a special gift from your Poppystamps Secret Santa! Winners will be announced October 4th.

Bright and Beautiful Halloween
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am so glad that you have stopped by today to participate in our Fall/Halloween Poppystamps Blog Blitz! Today, my card features the brand new Friendly Cat! I love her adorable feline face and the soft, closed eyes. Isn't she darling?

You might win the Friendly Cat simply by leaving a comment on today's blog post! One winner will be randomly selected from every blog post to win the featured die, so be sure to leave a comment on every blog post with a prize that you'd like to win! Take a look at Friendly Cat!

I cut Friendly Cat out of black cardstock, and cut the Magical Cauldron out of shiny black foil paper, which gives it a great look and feel, like a shiny new cauldron. I wanted the Cat and the Cauldron to stand out against my bright, saturated background. Can you take a magical guess on how it was created? Alcohol Ink on YUPO paper!

I used shades of orange, purple, and green to create a dizzying, bubbling look, and inserted bright lime green paper behind the bubble holes from Magical Cauldron. I inserted black paper behind the Cauldron, then added the shiny cauldron on top with a round pop dot, and placed Friendly Cat right where I wanted her, adhered with foam pop dots as well. I finished the look with clear "sprinkles," which are acrylic beads with flat bottoms that are perfect for card making. Easy Breezy and unique! No two cards will ever look exactly alike!

The fun doesn't stop with just ONE chance at a giveaway! For a SECOND chance to win Friendly Cat AND ONE FOR A FRIEND . . .
