2023-06PSC#105 Just Add Foil!  This month we're asking you to add a little foil bling to your designs.  Hot foil dies are awfully popular now, but there are still lots of other ways to add foil glamor to your design.  You can die cut foil cardstock, use patterned paper that already has foil applied, adhesive applied foil and even pieces of gold flake that look like foil.

Projects can be for any occasion, and you're not limited to making cards.  We welcome home décor, page layouts, tags and everything in between!  It's your choice, just be sure to use at least one Poppystamps die on your project!  You must use a Poppystamps product to be eligible to win!

Need a little inspiration?  Here are some samples from our design team.  Want a closer look?   No worries.. we'll be featuring these projects on Wednesdays throughout the month, so you can see how each project was created.

Meet our June guest selected and introduced by Marybeth from our Design Team!  I met Lisa on Instagram. I loved her kindness , cards and crafty things she makes.   Lisa is a happy kind person who loves creating cards and making lots of wonderful gifts. I really enjoy all the crochet projects she makes and gives away as gifts, always with a beautiful card too.

I live in the Midwest with my amazing husband, two awesome college age children, and also two of the most adorable dogs you have ever seen, and my daughter’s cat - I called her Miss Kitty. I work as a communications specialist. I have always been a creative being, and I started making cards when my kids were very young and I couldn’t just run out to the card store every time I needed a card. I fell madly in love with cardmaking!  When I’m not working or creating, I enjoy making special treats for people (like caramels or cookies) going to the movies, and going on family hikes!  I love to read and crochet too! I am so thrilled to be a guest designer at Poppystamps!!!

Hello, Marybeth Lopez  here with you today. I am sharing, what I think is a simple yet elegant card. It is simply created ( once you get your idea:) and simply stated.

9AE1B96E-C73A-4BEF-9CB4-B97BB280EB59_1_201_a

I used :Perfect Posies Bouquet from Poppystamps  and Modest Greetings 1 Hot Foil Plate and Die.

As you can see in the photo below I added the bouquet a bit to the left off the panel then cut the extra off.

This bouquet die is so pretty and has so many options.

I used foam tape under the hot foil greetings so it would pop off the panel a bit as the card was pretty flat.

I hope you have a wonderful week. Thank you so much for stopping by today. Hope you get some happy craft time.

Embossed Floral
by Marybeth Lopez

5C68E3A8-F085-499B-8578-3249D9833E38_1_201_a

Hello and Happy May to you all. I had so much fun creating this card. I used the new memory box Gracious Floral 3D Embossing Folder and Cutting Die, along with memory box Art Stencil Set called Gracious Floral.

9CEFB325-EE61-4961-A419-E8FF7CFD9429_1_201_a

I only colored some of the booms , you can detail it as much or as little as you want. I love the softness of this card .

I die-cut the single flower then placed it in the embossing folder, as in the photo above.  ( just line it up ) the detail after it is embossed is beautiful.

The sentiment is from Poppystamps called Modest Greetings 1 I popped up the cut flower with some foam tape.

Be careful with your panel when you are blending the colors using the stencil ( I got some on my panel) I was able to cut  most of it down. The ink that remained was easily erased with the sand eraser, pictured two photos below. It dose a beautiful job without messing up the paper. Just a little tip .

I used a few different shades of green  but when I did the other colors I used the same color and it just got darker as I kept layering with the new stencils.

I ended up not using the dark gray as pictured above and went wit a soft yellow center same color as the bloom. (Below)

Thank you so much for the visit, I hope I have inspired you to get some time in the craft room .

I also want to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

God bless you all.

Just a Note

Hello, I hope you are all happy and well.  Marybeth Lopez  here with you today with a soft yellow butterfly card. I used Poppystamps Teardrop Butterflies , they are so cute and just the right size to flutter out of the envelope.

0287A370-20D0-47CD-8904-7CA9F70065BF_1_201_a

The sentiment is from Poppystamps Modest Greetings . Modest Greetings hot foil set, comes with 8 sentiments, that's a lot of choices .

085AC296-8983-4EE0-954C-4675107F0263_1_201_a

I used watercolor cardstock for the main panel for some added texture. I think this one is from memory box . I have lots cut up and ready to go so I cant be sure.

E5273988-3424-4484-AE0A-E9096323F99E_1_201_a

For some of the layers on the butterfly I used a thick vellum cardstock, I cut many pieces out in a few shades of yellow then picked what I wanted as I created the panel.

The small vellum envelope is from Poppystamps Basic Junk Journal Set. So many die cuts out of that set to be used for things other than a junk journal.

Thank you for taking time to stop by . I hope you can find some simple inspiration from this card. Crafting is a true blessing.

God  Bless you.

Foiled Birthday Card
by Marybeth Lopez

22883958-6AE4-471E-A731-88537A5463F2

Hello, Marybeth Lopez   here with you today. I am sharing a clean and simple hot foiled birthday card with you today . Some of you may know I love quilting and working with fabric. Well, it seems hearts are all the rage in fabric this year (not just for Valentine's Day anymore) So I thought I would continue the hearts in card making as well.

6B216628-547F-45EB-ABDD-1286FDFA87C5_1_201_a

I used the Poppystamps Hot Foil Plate called: Criss Cross Heart. As you can see the plate worked perfectly when foiled and didn't need much more than a simple greeting sentiment.

I used the Poppystamps Hot Foil and Cut Die Set called: Birthday Wishes Poe Script.

69ABF023-89A3-40C0-9BC5-A9390C1E0C12_1_201_a

Sorry about the bad color in this photo. I wanted to show how I cut two layers of the outline die for the Birthday greeting . I adhered two layers for just a bit of a pop off the heart background .

26F2A4C8-494D-4071-8E01-E23A5F6E3B69_1_201_a

When I take my hot foil machine out I foil many things in many colors all at once. I do quilt a lot at one time. Then when I go to make a card I have many choices and I just add them to my card.

D21B1081-C9EA-4FB0-A298-7F97BF3EB328

I hope you are all doing well . May God bless you all in the light of His peace.

I also hope you find some time to get crafty. I will be back again in a few days with a new card.

Hello again. Marybeth Lopez  here with you, two days in a row. I used the same colors again today. I love soft pinks.

I used Poppystamps Craft Stencil for my( frame) background ,  Open Studio Watercolor Paper ,Poppystamps Thank You Moonlight Script and Layered Tulips.

53BBC670-2114-4117-A478-1F7E3330471A_1_201_a

I just grabbed one of the stencils softly ink blended it then grabbed another one and went over it with the same color. I was not following any order.

B938B353-D4AB-47B2-8EF1-3889A0009579_1_201_a

As you can see above it was a random use of the stencils and worked beautifully for the frame edge that showed up behind the main panel.

07EFAB7F-9C7F-44D5-A6EC-0EA38CAE355A_1_201_a

This picture captures the gorgeous texture of the water color paper. The warm off-white is nice and muted as well.

The thank you is layered and ink blended as well as the flower and leaves. All white paper again today, colored by ink blending with brushes.

0D957342-67E8-479C-9DE7-9B23FF878EFF_1_201_aC044ECDB-139B-451E-926D-09F6CA9223AE_4_5005_c

Hope I have inspired you to enjoy some time in your craft room and or do a little shopping for some Poppystamps dies.

As you can see I used the Tulip die to look more like an ordinary bloom and not so much as a tulip.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week .
