Sweet Celebrations: A Birthday Card

Creating handmade cards is always a delightful experience, and using new products from the Poppystamps Corner Shop Collection made it even more exciting. Today, I'm sharing a charming birthday card that’s perfect for celebrating in style. Let's dive into the process of creating this colorful and fun card.

Choosing the Perfect Products

For this card, I used several fantastic products from the new Corner Shop Collection released on May 24, including the Corner Shop Birthday Treats Craft Die, Corner Shop Birthday Celebrations Craft Die, Corner Shop Dessert Stand Craft Die, Birthday Banners Clear Stamp Set, and Scallop Pinpoint Rings Craft Die.

Crafting the Card Base

I started by cutting an orange patterned paper with gold foiling from Memory Box to fit an A2 card front. For a focal point, I used the Scallop Pinpoint Rings Craft Die to cut a blue cardstock circle.

Assembling the Card

I adhered the orange patterned paper to the A2 card base and positioned the blue scalloped circle on the right-hand side, trimming any excess. Then, I arranged the die-cut cakes, cupcakes, and banner on the circle, centering the cake stand.

Adding the Sentiment

I stamped “It’s cake time” from the Birthday Banners Clear Stamp Set on a blue cardstock strip and placed it along the bottom of the card, aligning it under the circle.

To add sparkle, I die-cut tiny circles from rose gold glitter paper and scattered them around the card.

Creating this birthday card with the Poppystamps Corner Shop Collection was a fun and rewarding process. The vibrant colors, detailed die cuts, and elegant accents resulted in a card that's sure to bring joy to anyone celebrating their special day. I hope this inspires you to explore the new Poppystamps products and create your own beautiful cards. Happy crafting!

A Charming Flower Shop Card
by Jyoti Adhikari

The latest release from Poppystamps is here, and it's brimming with creativity and charm! Among the exciting new products, the Corner Shop Pop Up Easel Set craft die stands out as a versatile and delightful addition to any cardmaker's collection. This set, along with the Flower and Leaf Sprinkles craft die and the Corner Shoppe Flower Pot Shelves craft die, offers endless possibilities for creating intricate and beautiful scenes that are sure to impress.

For this card, I decided to use the Corner Shop Pop Up Easel Set in a non-traditional way. Instead of making a pop-up card, I designed an A2 card with the corner flower shop as the central focus. The idea was to create a charming, cozy scene that would stand out and captivate the viewer's attention. Using a soft palette of muted pinks and beige along with mirror gold linings giving it a cozy and inviting look.

The flower pots, cut from the Corner Shoppe Flower Pot Shelves die, added an extra layer of detail. These pots, arranged strategically around the shop, help to create a sense of dimension and realism. To add vibrancy, I incorporated pops of pink in the flowers, which were created using the Flower and Leaf Sprinkles die. These tiny blooms were carefully placed to add a touch of brightness and life to the scene, contrasting beautifully with the muted tones of the shop.

One of the great things about this card is its versatility. By not adding a sentiment, it can be tailored for any occasion – whether it's a birthday, a thank you, or just a note to brighten someone's day.

I hope you find inspiration in this charming corner flower shop card. The latest products from Poppystamps make it easy to create beautiful, detailed scenes that are perfect for any occasion. Stay tuned for more creative projects and ideas as we continue to explore the endless possibilities of these fantastic new releases. Happy crafting!

PSC #115 Reminder Look Out The Window
by Jyoti Adhikari

Hey, crafty friends! It's time for another exciting reminder about our ongoing challenge here at Poppystamps. This time, we're inviting you to embrace the beauty of window cards with our "Look Out the Window" challenge!

Window cards offer endless possibilities for creativity, allowing you to peek into a world of your own making. Whether you're gazing out onto a serene landscape, a bustling cityscape, or a whimsical scene, the choice is yours.

Majestic Bloom Trifold Delight

For this challenge, I decided to think outside the box and create a trifold card that offers a unique twist on the traditional window card design.

First, I started with a regular A2 card base and added an additional panel to transform it into a trifold card. This provided the perfect canvas for my vision to unfold.

Next, I introduced a captivating element—a cutout window using the shadow layer die from the majestic bloom die set. This allowed a glimpse into the inner fold of the card where a beautiful flower awaited.

With precision and care, I aligned the flower on the second panel to seamlessly blend with the cutout, creating a harmonious composition that draws the eye.

To enhance the overall aesthetic, I delicately ink blended the card front, adding a subtle vignette of red shades that complemented the floral motif.

But the magic didn't stop there! The majestic bloom die set also features charming birds, which I strategically placed on either side of the flower, adding an extra touch of whimsy to the scene.

To tie it all together, I chose a sentiment that spanned across the cutout, giving the illusion that the birds were gracefully carrying a banner of heartfelt words.

And there you have it—my interpretation of the "Look Out the Window" challenge, brought to life through layers of creativity and imagination.

Now it's your turn! We can't wait to see how you embrace the challenge and infuse your own unique flair into the world of window cards.

Leah and I met through the vibrant world of Instagram's card makers community, where her talent and passion for floral designs and bright color palettes shine brightly. Despite residing in the same city, our attempts to meet in person have been thwarted by various obstacles. Nevertheless, we remain hopeful that the near future holds the promise of finally connecting face-to-face and sharing our mutual love for card making.

Hi! I'm so excited to participate as a guest designer this month. My day job is as a publisher and editor for women's fiction and romance novels, and I've been living my own happily-ever-after for 17 years with my amazing spouse. I originally started doing digital scrapbooking as a way to better understand composition and Photoshop skills for reviewing book covers, and from there I evolved into physical stamping and cardmaking. I love that I can have a finished card (or three!) in an afternoon, and it's such a relaxing creative outlet for me. I also so appreciate the amazing and inspiring community of crafters I've met along the way. It's especially fun when cardmakers say they've enjoyed a book I've worked on too.  My whole book club is also now into cardmaking, and I pulled my mom in as well. In fact, she'll be the recipient of this card, as hippos are her favorite and I couldn't resist this adorable Whittle die. Thanks again so much for having me this month!

Bunny Faces With Colorful Accents
by Jyoti Adhikari

Dive into the whimsical world of crafting with me and some of the products from the Scandinavian Spring Release. Today I am featuring the delightful Bunny Faces Craft Die, Nordic Pattern Rings Craft Die and Nordic Lacy Plate Craft Die.

Layering Bunny Faces:

Using the Bunny Faces Craft die, cut out the bunny faces in two layers - one in white for the fur and the other in pink for the ears. The pink layer peeks through, adding a sweet touch to the bunny's appearance. Carefully color the eye area of the pink layer with a black marker to complete the cute faces.

Colorful Accent Nordic Circle Rings:

Next, take the Nordic Circle Rings die set and cut out three circles. Opt for vibrant colors that will pop against the card's background. These circles will serve as playful accents, enhancing the overall charm of the design. I only used the two inner circles for today's card.

Crafting the Background:

For the background, utilize the Nordic Lacy Plate Craft Die. Layer a shimmering gold cardstock behind it, allowing the gold to shine through the intricate design of the cover plate. This adds an elegant touch to the whimsical theme of the card.

Arranging the Elements:

Now, arrange the three Nordic circle rings in a triangular formation on the background. This arrangement creates visual interest and draws attention to the focal point of the card - the adorable bunny faces. Secure the bunny faces onto the circles, completing the enchanting scene.

Incorporating the Bunny Faces Craft Die, Nordic Pattern Rings Craft die, Nordic Lacy Plate Craft Die and elegant gold layering with colorful accents, this card project captures the essence of whimsy and charm. From the playful bunny faces to the vibrant circles and shimmering background, each element contributes to a delightful creation that is sure to bring smiles to those who receive it. Let your creativity soar with Poppy Stamps dies and stamps, and bring a touch of magic to your crafting endeavors.

Springtime Bliss: Crafting an Easter Card
by Jyoti Adhikari

EasterBunnyCard.3As the vibrant hues of spring bloom around us, it's the perfect time to infuse some seasonal charm into our crafting endeavors. With the latest release of spring products from Poppystamps, I embarked on a delightful journey to create an Easter card that encapsulates the spirit of the season. Join me as I walk you through the step-by-step process of crafting this whimsical card, incorporating darling bunny dies and a splash of springtime colors.

Crafting Process: Bringing the Bunny to Life

Die-Cutting and Coloring:

The heart of this Easter card lies in the adorable Cuddle Bunny Craft Die. Using white cardstock as my canvas, I delicately cut out the pieces of the bunny. With a gentle stroke of a copic marker in a peachy pink hue, I brought the bunny's ears to life, infusing a subtle warmth into its character. Black was then employed to add color to its eyes, lending a touch of whimsy and charm.

Creating a Charming Background:

To complement the enchanting bunny centerpiece, I fashioned a captivating backdrop using patterned papers from Memory Box. Opting for Anemone Plaid 6x6 Pack and Anemone Grove 6x6 Pack, I cut them in half along the length of an A2 cardfront, adding them seamlessly on a scrap piece of cardstock. A thin strip of lustrous gold cardstock served as the finishing touch, accentuating the transition between the patterns. Employing a rectangle die, I meticulously trimmed the background to slightly smaller dimensions than an A2 card-front enhancing its aesthetic appeal and creating a crisp, polished look.

Building Layers:

Every element of this card was thoughtfully layered to evoke dimension and visual interest. A pale blue circle die-cut, courtesy of Nordic Pattern Rings Craft die provided a charming platform for the bunny to perch upon. Elevating the bunny with foam tape added a delightful pop, inviting the recipient to immerse themselves in the whimsical world of this Easter creation.

Adding Sentimental Flourish:

No card is complete without a heartfelt sentiment, and for this Easter masterpiece, I turned to the Fresh Happy Easter Craft Die. Cutting out the words in pink cardstock and their corresponding shadow in white, I meticulously layered them together, ensuring a striking contrast against the backdrop. Placing the sentiment strategically on the card, I imbued it with warmth and joy, echoing the essence of the Easter season.

As the finishing touches were delicately placed, this Easter card emerged as a testament to the beauty of springtime crafting. I invite you to embark on your own creative journey, infusing your projects with the spirit of the season. Share your thoughts, ideas, and creations in the comments below, and don't forget to spread the joy by sharing this post with fellow card makers. May your crafting endeavors be filled with inspiration and delight, reflecting the vibrant essence of springtime bliss.
