Hello Poppy Peeps!

It's Sphoorti again with three cards for you today  (I know it seems like four from the pictures above but that's because one of the cards looks completely different when viewed at different angles. I'll tell you more about that later). I had this idea last year, but didn't get around to making it, so here you are stuck with me all the way in February with holiday cards! (Also because I absolutely love the holidays and can't help but make cards with that theme throughout the year!)

All of these cards worked off of the same materials. I had my hot foil machine out one day and I mass produced a number of hot foiled panels using the Leaf and Tendril Hot Foil Plate. The panel you see in the card below was made from Opal foil, and I can't say enough about how cool it is. It's seemingly colorless, but when you try to photograph it, it ends up looking completely different in each picture depending on the angle you take it. It's like getting ten cards in one, which is why you're seeing hundreds of pictures for the same card. <Can you blame me?>

And a few months later, I pulled out the 2548 Stacked Joy craft die and die cut the panels at the center. Then, it was pretty much mixing and switching the various positive and negative die cuts. I made sure to use any scraps I had left to make additional cards so that I wouldn't lose any of that foiled goodness.

In order to get that "spotlight look", I used the 2548 Stacked Joy craft die to cut multiple sentiments and stacked the alphabets to make them as thick as a chipboard. Then, I used the alphabet die cuts from the hot foiled card stock as the top layer and inlaid everything back and that was it!

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Which of the cards was your favorite? I'd love to hear your opinions! Thank you for visiting! See you soon!

Love,

Hello Poppy Peeps!

Happy Valentine's Day! It's Sphoorti again with four whoppin' cards for you today! You'd think they'd be Valentine cards, but I'm still stuck in the holiday-card mode, so here we are!

These are SO easy to mass produce and still pack a punch, so a sentiment isn't even needed! It's perfect for when (like me) you've missed the deadline of sending out Christmas / Holiday cards but still want to send something wintery to your friends and family, but have no idea on what to say the card is for!

The products I used for these cards are as follows. You can find the full list at the bottom of this post (including pictures).

  1. 2531 Adelaide Snowflakes craft die
  2. PSF808 Modest Greetings 2 Hot Foil Plate and Die
  3. 2539 Flowing Curves craft die
  4. FP1002 Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6x6 pack
  5. FP1003 Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6 pack

THE CARDS SANS SENTIMENTS:

For the cards without the sentiment, I started with ink blending some card stock with Distress Inks in greens or reds. I splattered the ink blended panels with some Perfect Pearls mixed in water in the silver and gold shades.

I cut out some Adelaide Snowflakes using the gold and silver colored foil card stock from the Mirror Pads.

I took some panels of white card stock that I layered with my favorite Diamond Dust.

I cut up the inked card stock panels into smaller strips and laid them horizontally along the median of the card or on the edges. I used the Diamond Dust panels wherever there was blank white card stock.

Then, I took the Adelaide Snowflakes and foam mounted them at the center of the card or along the median.I'm not used to making cards without a sentiment, but I couldn't get myself to put anything else on these cards. What are your thoughts?

THE CARD WITH THE SENTIMENT:

For this card, instead of using the Diamond Dust panels, I used the Flowing Curves die cuts and adhered them on a white card panel (white on white, so it looks dry embossed). I took a panel of vellum (you can't tell from the pictures, but it's actually vellum), and matted the green ink blended panel with it. I foam mounted this on the card panel with the Flowing Curves. I adhered the Adelaide Snowflakes directly to the inked panel and scattered some gems here and there, and at the centers of the little snowflakes. I used a reverse hot-foiled "You are the best" sentiment from the PSF808 Modest Greetings 2 Hot Foil Plate and Die and adhered it to large snowflake in the middle and that was it!

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Which of the cards was your favorite? Do you think that cards without sentiments are not cards at all? I'd love to hear your opinions! Thank you for visiting! See you soon!

Love,

Sphoorti

For You

Hello and welcome. It's the season of love, and I'm here reminding you Poppy has some love-ly new dies to grace your cards and tags.

DSC_0266

The centerpiece of my card features a striking white and red heart, with layered blooms and die cut sentiment. My blooms are from the new Floral Vase Pop Up.

DSC_0259

I started by foiling shimmer cardstock, and die cutting all my elements. I stuck to mostly Valentine colors: red, pink and white.

And I used shimmery and glittered cardstock.

I hope the recipient feels the love when he/she receives this card! And I hope you are inspired to put some bling on your Valentines!

Slimline Adelaide Snowflakes Card
by Sphoorti

Hello Poppy Peeps!

It's Sphoorti, and I only have one card for you today, and it's such an easy one to make - you can whip it up in 30 minutes, tops!

I started off with the 2531 Adelaide Snowflakes craft die and cut some silver mirror, copper mirror, silver glitter, and gold glitter card stocks from the Glitter and Mirror pad assortments Poppystamps has.

8719A532-2360-4D35-AF9C-BDF499CF778E

I took a card base long enough to fit the five snowflakes and adhered the gorgeous snowflakes in a staggered fashion along the x-axis.

7DC280B6-D3ED-4CB0-AAC5-CE397D7A9A3C

I hot foiled PSF808 Modest Greetings 2 on some white card stock with copper colored foil and chose the "You are the best" sentiment from it. I matted the sentiment with some silver glitter card stock.

I had some glitter washi tape that slightly matched one of the snowflakes, so I lined the card base with it along the top and bottom edges.

And you know what? That was it! So easy, yet so elegant and festive!

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? I'd love to hear from you! Thank you for visiting! See you soon!

Love,

A Box of Chocolates
by Rachel Duong

IMG_1931

Happy New Year!  I hope you are looking forward to good things in 2023.  This is me, Rachel, here to share with you a box of chocolates! I was absolutely thrilled when I saw the Poppystamps "Vintage Scalloped Heart" die. Immediately, a heart-shaped tin full of decadent chocolates came to mind.  I imagined rich, vibrant papers complete with sparkle and shine to create a delicious card.  Valentine's Day is just around the corner, here is my Valentine's Day card for you!

IMG_1911 (1)
Steps to create this card.
1. Die cut the scalloped heart from the Poppystamps "Vintage Scalloped Heart" die from the Memory Box "Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad". The paper I chose is a pearl gold. It is gorgeous!
2. Die cut the heart with the sunburst accents using metallic red cardstock from the Memory Box "Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad".
3. Die cut the Poppystamps "Sending Love Poe Script" sentiment in antique gold glitter paper from the Memory Box "Festive Glitter Pad". (Save the heart)

4. Using dark brown, die cut the Poppystamps "Heartfelt Pinpoint Frame" background die. (Save the little hearts for another card!)
5. Using a medium brown, cut an A2 size card front.
6. Finally, glue the pieces together. Don't forget the glitter heart!
7. Adhere to a black card base or any color of your choice!

Pictured are the amazing Poppystamps dies I used from the Valentine's release.

I hope you love this Valentine as much as I do. It reminds me so much of sweet memories involving chocolate surprises! Fabulous glitter and beautiful shiny red paired with two shades of rich chocolate brown are just enough to add a warm sentimental glow.

May you have a beautiful day today. See you very soon. Until then, sending much love your way!

One Background Die, Two Completely Different Cards - Part 2
by Sphoorti

3D47F8E1-D88A-4363-BDAF-DF9EBFB2DD6Ea

Hello Poppy Peeps!

It's Sphoorti again and today you'll see the second way I used the 2483 Ornament Background craft die from the 2021 Holiday Release in a way that's completely different from what God and the makers of Poppystamps dies intended. For the first method, check out my previous post here!

24283D1D-F3ED-4A41-995E-759A8E13CDA4

For this card, I started off by taking an A2 sized panel of gray card stock and ink blending Black Soot Distress Ink along the perimeter the same way I did for the card from my previous post. I splattered this one with perfect pearls too.

77F2DE6E-3062-411F-957A-D172DE93AD26

Remember how I had a number of leaves left over from die cutting card stock with the the 2483 Ornament Background craft die, and trimming out the ornament? Well, I took those and layered them on top of each other for dimension. I couldn't throw them away - they're so beautiful! I rounded the sharp edges where I could, and topped off the stacked die cuts with a silver and gold mirror card stock. Then I spread them out and adhered them on the ink blended card panel.

I hot-foiled the "You are amazing" sentiment from the PSF804 You Are Amazing Poe Script Greetings Hot Foil Plate and Dies and adhered it in the middle of the card.

FCA1CC54-03DD-42FF-8C03-2CDE14F1C6CA

I scattered some clear gems everywhere. I adhered the card panel to an A2 sized black card base and that was it!

E99123DA-5A6D-4FE8-A2AE-33626917620C

When I started making the card on my previous post, I had no idea I'd end up with another one that I never even envisioned. Funny how that happens, huh?!

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Please do let me know your thoughts! We love to hear from you! I hope you've been having an awesome holiday season and hope you have an awesome New Year's Day and year ahead! Thank you for your never ending support!
