Rainbow Hearts
by Sue McRae

IMG_0684c

Hello everyone! Sue here with a cheery rainbow card using one of the Valentine's Day dies from the new release.

Not all heart cards have to be for Valentine's Day, try thinking outside the box in using them in your every day crafting.

I'm sure most of you have lots of scrap card stock lying around, I know I do. So today I'm using up the scraps to make my own rainbow background.

IMG_0650c

Pick whatever colours make you happy for creating your background. I went with a rainbow but you could use different shades of one colour. I cut strips 0.25" and 0.5" wide because I wasn't sure what I was going to do at first. I arranged the colours horizontally and then decided I liked them on a diagonal better and I put a couple of wider strips with the narrow ones just to mix it up. I added my strips to a piece of white card stock that I covered with double sided adhesive. Once I filled my panel with all the strips I trimmed off all the ends.

IMG_0659c

I die cut the Samba Heart Border from white card stock and adhered it the panel. I used the same colours from my background to die cut the hearts. I cut small squares from the coloured card stock and taped them to the back of the border die so I could cut several hearts in different colours at the same time. It only took 3 passes to die cut all the hearts I needed.

IMG_0672c

I added the hearts with foam tape for dimension and white heat embossed the sentiment from the Art Deco You Are Wonderful stamp set.

IMG_0687c

To finish off I added a thin strip of black card stock to the heart panel and some iridescent bubbles.

IMG_0680c

I hope you give this idea a try. It's an easy way to add some fun colour to a card. I have enough strips leftover to make another panel for a future project. Bonus!

Sending XOXO
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0028

Hi and welcome to a Valentine post! I have a card for you that's a shaker, made with Poppy's fabulous dies and features a stencil I made. Let me show you how.

DSC_0013

I wanted a simple background for my Meadowblossom Frame, and decided to make my own using Poppy's Confetti Heart Plate. It's really easy with a few tricks I've learned using different methods. Here's what I like best. Die cut your stencil with a nice sturdy vellum. Spray the back with Pixie light tack reposition adhesive spray (Amazon). and allow it to dry a minute or two. It will keep your stencil from moving during inking.

DSC_0014

I used Distress Oxide Inks, but used different amounts and pressure when applying the ink. I wanted a rather ombre effect.

DSC_0015

I wanted the heart and frame from the Meadowblossom frame, but not all the posies, as I wanted the background to show. I simply snipped all but the bottom corner from the frame and heart. I did this 5 times.

One die was glued down to my heart stenciled background.

DSC_0016 2

To make the perfect sized acetate for my shaker, I used the heart from the middle of the Meadowblossom frame, tracing onto the paper, and cutting a 1/8"  wider than the line. The heart acetate piece is glued to one of the 5 heart frames that will be on the top. The rest are all glued to the 1st piece.

DSC_0024_wm

The finished shaker. I added red Nuvo drops to the flower centers, and the red glitter hearts are outtakes from another valentine I did with Banded Hearts die plate.

Since I had the stencil, I decorated the flap of an envelope.

How are you coming with your valentines? Hope you got a little bit of inspiration today. And hope you picked up a few of the fabulous new dies during the release! Happy Crafting!

Love and Hearts
by Marybeth Lopez

Hi there, Marybeth here today with a Pink Valentine card. I used Poppystamps Love die , the beautiful memory box 3D embossing folder, ( love this folder and I use it on many envelopes too! I also used some leftover hearts from one of my other cards , using the Banded Heart die and the tiny hearts are from the Heartscape Hill die.

3E1D429C-1B79-44F7-BFB8-4FAE47A07F60_1_201_a

Jumping ahead, this card shows how I added shimmer ink all over the hearts and panel. You might see I stamped the heart on the O and then decided not to add anything to it, I covered it up with another layer of heart.

44D8584B-8DF5-4327-8354-62500539EBEA

I used all white paper for my card, all color comes from ink blending . I used the lighter pink for the large layer and the darker pink for the letters that go on top.

Above is my card base, I wanted it to match the color die cuts, so I ink blended the outer edges only ( center won't show). I then placed the embossed panel on top of this base.

I added a few drop of my favorite glue to adhere the top layer of the dies to the large outline.  I love these two soft pinks together! Don't you just love the LOVE outline die!!!

5524F0E0-90EF-4F68-B7C0-E8599C13113E_1_201_a

I simply embossed my panel using the 3D folder then added all the beautiful Poppystamps dies .See how the panel looks like colored cardstock! Just ink blended around the edges.

I think this will be a St. Valentine card but it could be used for many occasions. The card above this one shows more of how pretty the shimmer is. Thank you for the visit today , I hope you are enjoying a beautiful week .

God bless you .

Textured Love

Valentine's day is getting closer - do you have your card for your loved one ready?
Watermark1.579466688841E12

I had this alcohol ink panel lying around. I didn't like it so it's just been sitting there. I first dry embossed it with the new Memory Box Heart Bouquet 3D embossing folder. I then poured on some isopropyl alcohol to reactivate the colors. I kept moving the panel until it was all activated.
Watermark1.579466688841E12

I let some of the ink drip off. It was too purple for me. And this is what I ended with. In hindsight I probably should have stopped now because this in my opinion shows the embossing better.
Watermark1.579466688841E12

But I didn't stop. I added new pink and purple alcohol inks, layering until I was happy with the look. Once dry I used a fine nail file over the embossed areas to remove the alcohol ink and make them stand out more. IMG_20200120_204713
I cut the panel to size and cut the Meadowblossom frame from white cardstock and layered over it. The heart shape in the embossed panel just fits inside the cut out heart on the meadowblossom frame, so pretty! I then cut the Love flourish from white cardstock and placed it inside the heart.
Happy crafting!

Valentine's Day Shaker Card
by Nadine Carlier

Valentines Day Shaker Card by Nadine Carlier

Hello! Nadine here today sharing a Valentine's Day shaker card. Have you all started making your Valentine's Day cards yet?
For my card, I used the Poppystamps Grid Heart Frame cut from white cardstock and the Graceful Heart Frame cut once from white cardstock and once from pink vellum. To adhere the two Graceful Heart Frame layers together, I used my Xyron Creative Station Lite. I then adhered the two layers onto the Grid Heart Frame layer.

1

Instead of using acetate to make my shaker card I decided to use some pink vellum behind the Grid Heart Frame. I then added some 3D Foam Tape and for the inside of my shaker, I used the hearts that were cut out from the Grid Heart Frame and some pink seed beads.

2

Then I took the big heart that was cut from the Graceful Heart Frame and used one of the stamps from the Poppystamps Valentine's Fun Clear Stamp Set and stamped it with Delicata Pink Shimmer ink.

Rainbow Shaker
by Sue McRae

IMG_0565c

Hello crafters! Sue here with a colourful rainbow shaker card.

IMG_0526c

I love a good rainbow so I decided to pull out some of my favorite alcohol inks and make a rainbow heart card. I used Yupo paper, alcohol inks, blending solution, rubbing alcohol and an air blower.

IMG_0540c

I put some blending solution on the yupo and added dots of color in a row up the paper and moved the ink around with the air blower until I was happy with the blending.

IMG_0543c

Using the Grid Heart Frame I die cut the panel, adhered a piece of clear plastic on the back and added a double layer of foam tape around the frame and in between each row of hearts. If you only add foam to the outside of the panel all the sequins would fall to the bottom and I didn't want that. I wanted to have sequins in each row of hearts and I wanted the sequins in each row to match the colour of the inks.

IMG_0568c

I adhered white card stock to the back of the panel so the sequin colours would pop against the white.

IMG_0562c

For the sentiments I used three from the Whittle Love Sentiments set that are perfect for sending to a friend. I white heat embossed the sentiments on black card stock and punched them out with circle punches. I wanted to keep the sentiments small so they wouldn't cover up too much of the fabulous rainbow shaker!

IMG_0555c

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. Hope you make a shaker card for a friend, I know it will put a smile on her face!

Valentine Tag Cards
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0122_wm

Valentine Poppy Greetings friends! I have a post full of Love today, using some of the latest Poppystamps release. Better have a cuppa with you, I just couldn't stop once I got started! Come take a look.

DSC_0074

First, created my pattern Cardstock with Memory Box's new Drifting Hearts Stencil. A few with Distress Ink,

and a few with embossing paste.

DSC_0078

To add color, I mixed a few drops of re-inker to my Mat Gel Medium. Also I lightly sprayed the back of the stencil with Pixie Spray. It's slightly sticky and holds the stencil in place and prevents the gel from spreading beyond the holes.

DSC_0082

When the mat gel was dry, I cut out my tags. The Stitched Tunnel Tags has several sizes to choose from. I used the largest and also the 3rd largest. This is a photo of all the pieces I used on my 4 tags.

DSC_0097_wm

The 3 layers of tags aren't glued together, just free to move. this one has some Valentine Washi on the bottom.

DSC_0094_wm

All tags have a 3rd piece of white card stock cut from the largest tag die, so I can write my message as I would

inside a card.

DSC_0098_wm

The red tag on this one is stamped with one of the images from Valentine's Fun, one of Poppy's new stamp sets.

DSC_0102_wm

This tag was stamped with Poppy's Picnic Plaid.

DSC_0103_wm

All have matching envelopes and glitter heart seals. To create the address label, I die cut smaller tag, turned it, and cut the bottom again for a mask, then stenciled on the hearts. Also added a bit of red shadow around the mask. I ran the die cut heart through my Xyron sticker maker, creating a seal for the back flap.

The tag/card measures 3 x 5 1/4" and fits perfectly in an A2 envelope.

Hope you're inspired to try a tag/card. It's the perfect Valentine for those special people in your life!

Love Field
by Michele K. henderson

IMG_6631-wm

Hello Friends!

We are so happy that you could join us here on the Poppystamps blog today! Today, I am sharing a bright and cheerful card that features our brand new Meadowblossom Frame and Stencil. Take a look!

IMG_6628-wm

To create this flowery frame, all you need is TWO dies, Meadowblossom Frame and Love Outline. Then start cutting! I began with a blue back card panel, and added the Meadowblossom Frame in lime green. Then I cut the frame again in pink, yellow, red, orange, and pale purple. I cut the Love Outline in white and gold. Then I cut out each and every little flower I wanted to add to the frame and arranged my design.

IMG_6623-wm

Once everything was in place, I began gluing, carefully lining up the flowers to the stems.

IMG_6625-wm

I added the shiny gold and white Love Outline to the center of the big pink heart! It looks so fresh and springy! Then I finished the card off with teeny tiny coppery colored sparkles, and it's ready to send off for a little Valentine's Day surprise, any day of the year!

Thanks so much for joining us here on the Poppystamps blog!
