Challenge Reminder, Me & You
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0263

Greetings, Poppy Peeps! Nancy Here, and this is a reminder we have a challenge this month called: Me & You.

DSC_0261 2_wm

My card is a Valentine made with the Leaf and Tendril foil plate. As you can see, I used red foil onto pink cardstock. Pure Valentine delight!

DSC_0259

I inked the edges of my card base,  and cut the foiled piece down to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.

Such fun decorating the front of my Valentine with dies cut from mirror card stock!

DSC_0272 2

to make the dies pop, I added black under them, before gluing them down.

Hope you're thinking of what you can create for the challenge. There's a 20. gift certificate to shop for anything you choose, and

there's lots to choose from!

A reminder there are some fabulous inspiration by our designers this month, and I invited a friend, Colleen Foelker,  who did a beautiful card too!

Enjoy the rest of your week and happy crafting!

Hello Poppy Peeps!

Happy Valentine's Day! It's Sphoorti again with four whoppin' cards for you today! You'd think they'd be Valentine cards, but I'm still stuck in the holiday-card mode, so here we are!

These are SO easy to mass produce and still pack a punch, so a sentiment isn't even needed! It's perfect for when (like me) you've missed the deadline of sending out Christmas / Holiday cards but still want to send something wintery to your friends and family, but have no idea on what to say the card is for!

The products I used for these cards are as follows. You can find the full list at the bottom of this post (including pictures).

  1. 2531 Adelaide Snowflakes craft die
  2. PSF808 Modest Greetings 2 Hot Foil Plate and Die
  3. 2539 Flowing Curves craft die
  4. FP1002 Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6x6 pack
  5. FP1003 Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6 pack

THE CARDS SANS SENTIMENTS:

For the cards without the sentiment, I started with ink blending some card stock with Distress Inks in greens or reds. I splattered the ink blended panels with some Perfect Pearls mixed in water in the silver and gold shades.

I cut out some Adelaide Snowflakes using the gold and silver colored foil card stock from the Mirror Pads.

I took some panels of white card stock that I layered with my favorite Diamond Dust.

I cut up the inked card stock panels into smaller strips and laid them horizontally along the median of the card or on the edges. I used the Diamond Dust panels wherever there was blank white card stock.

Then, I took the Adelaide Snowflakes and foam mounted them at the center of the card or along the median.I'm not used to making cards without a sentiment, but I couldn't get myself to put anything else on these cards. What are your thoughts?

THE CARD WITH THE SENTIMENT:

For this card, instead of using the Diamond Dust panels, I used the Flowing Curves die cuts and adhered them on a white card panel (white on white, so it looks dry embossed). I took a panel of vellum (you can't tell from the pictures, but it's actually vellum), and matted the green ink blended panel with it. I foam mounted this on the card panel with the Flowing Curves. I adhered the Adelaide Snowflakes directly to the inked panel and scattered some gems here and there, and at the centers of the little snowflakes. I used a reverse hot-foiled "You are the best" sentiment from the PSF808 Modest Greetings 2 Hot Foil Plate and Die and adhered it to large snowflake in the middle and that was it!

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Which of the cards was your favorite? Do you think that cards without sentiments are not cards at all? I'd love to hear your opinions! Thank you for visiting! See you soon!

Love,

Sphoorti

Thinking of You
by Marybeth Lopez

Hi there, hope you are all doing well. Marybeth Lopez  here with you today.

I made this spring like "Thinking of you" card using Poppystamps: Perfect Posies Bouquet: You Are Amazing Poe Script Greetings and Memory box : Fairy Drops.

973917C4-341F-4891-8D5A-DF442B49628B_1_201_a

After hot foiling and die cutting the sentiment I added a piece of foam tape to the back to pop it up a bit over the die cut white posies bouquet.

This Perfect Posies Bouquet is all one piece but looks like many.

Lots of smaller pieces on this die so to be sure I used the metal shim. I think this one is from Poppystamps long time ago.

I couldn't  help but add some fairy drops to some of the blooms.

I will fold the back to the front so that when mailing the outside is actually inside. That will help with any bumps. Otherwise I will hand deliver. Either way will work.

Thank so much for stopping by today.

I hope you enjoy the Super Bowl game this Sunday if you watch. My team is not playing but we always enjoy the game. If not maybe some craft time or both.

Peace be with you all.

Hey there crafty friends! Did you know Valentine's Day is Valentine's Day is in 16 days.  Have you started making your Valentine's Day cards?

Well if you are a bit behind in your card making, today's project share should help inspire you to crafting.  My card today features several new dies from the latest release.

30CD896C-68DF-471A-A481-A59D54830646

I am using the Vintage Scallop Heart die, the Sending Love Poe Script along with the Criss Cross Heart Foil Plate. If you have not tried hot foiling on your cards, I strongly recommend doing so. The level of embossed shine that comes from the hot foil is absolutely stunning.

A7069922-F9DC-48DB-BC79-6F15EA8AEEED

To create the background of my card, I ink blended Distress Oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Abandon Coral and Age Mahogany on to my A2 size card front.  Then with silver hot foil I added the Criss Cross Heart image to the card.

0AAE6814-65C5-462C-ABBE-474A1629BFDB

Lastly I die cut the sentiment Sending Love from white card stock 3 times and layered them together for added dimension. This card was very simple to make and can easily be massed produced.  I hope you have enjoyed today's cardsharp and found inspiration.  Until next time.....Happy Crafting.

Slimline Adelaide Snowflakes Card
by Sphoorti

Hello Poppy Peeps!

It's Sphoorti, and I only have one card for you today, and it's such an easy one to make - you can whip it up in 30 minutes, tops!

I started off with the 2531 Adelaide Snowflakes craft die and cut some silver mirror, copper mirror, silver glitter, and gold glitter card stocks from the Glitter and Mirror pad assortments Poppystamps has.

8719A532-2360-4D35-AF9C-BDF499CF778E

I took a card base long enough to fit the five snowflakes and adhered the gorgeous snowflakes in a staggered fashion along the x-axis.

7DC280B6-D3ED-4CB0-AAC5-CE397D7A9A3C

I hot foiled PSF808 Modest Greetings 2 on some white card stock with copper colored foil and chose the "You are the best" sentiment from it. I matted the sentiment with some silver glitter card stock.

7FABF0B4-160A-4674-93BA-ABF1EAA75288

I had some glitter washi tape that slightly matched one of the snowflakes, so I lined the card base with it along the top and bottom edges.

And you know what? That was it! So easy, yet so elegant and festive!

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? I'd love to hear from you! Thank you for visiting! See you soon!

Love,

An Evening Valentine
by Rachel Duong

IMG_2005 (1)

Hello, this is Rachel here to share another heart card but this time with a little more color and a twist from the typical Valentine hues!  I gave it an elegant, emerald-teal shimmering background paired with a rich, burgundy organza ribbon. The candlelit gold and magenta mirrored accents bring it all together....and big hugs too! This Poppystamps valentine is for someone very special.

IMG_2047

Steps to create this card.
1. Hot foil the "Big Hugs" sentiment from the Poppystamps "You are Amazing Poe Script Greetings" hot foil and cut die set. Use rainbow foil on white. This sentiment will not be used on this card, so save it for another one.
2. Using the scrap of used foil from above, place on a solid metal plate and foil the negative view.
3. Die cut it out using the matching frame from the set. Die cut a second layer for extra height and interest if desired.
4. Using pale markers in yellow, pink and lavender, fill in the words to give the sentiment a warm candlelit glow.

IMG_1999

5. Die cut the top heart from the Poppystamps "Vintage Scalloped Heart" dies in dark red card stock.
6. Blend two shades of brown oxide ink around the border leaving the center red. The lightest brown goes first and further toward the center, the darker brown around the outside edge to finish the look.
7. Die cut the scalloped heart in warm metallic gold from the Memory Box "Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad".

IMG_2010

8. Using the Poppystamps "Heartfelt Pinpoint Frame", cut hearts in the colors as follows.
a. Shiny magenta pink hearts - die cut a 1.5" strip of metallic magenta pink card stock from the Memory Box "Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad".
b. Chocolate brown hearts - die cut a strip of chocolate brown card stock.
c. Brown and gold hearts - smudge embossing ink on a strip of brown card stock. Sprinkle gold embossing powder over the strip and heat emboss. Die cut the strip for beautiful two-toned hearts!
d. Dark red hearts - Splatter watered down white acrylic paint on a strip of dark red card stock. Run the strip through the cutting machine and collect the speckled hearts!

IMG_2001

9. Make a square card base measuring 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 out of heavyweight dark gray card stock.
10. Cut a square measuring 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 from the Memory Box "Festive Glitter Pad" shimmering cardstock in emerald teal.
11. Tie a small ribbon with burgundy organza ribbon.
12. Adhere the pieces together. Double sided tape works best to adhere the glitter front to the base.
13. Arrange the hearts and adhere using glue dots. Create balance by spreading out the colored hearts in a natural, organic way yet keeping the chocolate and red speckled hearts layered under the magenta and gold ones. These showstoppers should be front and forward!

Big hugs and lots of hearts to you. Have an enchanting day today until we meet again.  (In a few weeks!)
Rachel
