Faerie Kingdom Challenge
by Michele K. Henderson

IMG_4909-wm

Holiday magic is in the air,  sparkling with the dreams of sugar plum faeries and frosty winter days! That's certainly how I imagined my beautiful holiday faerie card I created for the November Challenge, Faerie Kingdom! There's still a little time left to create a card or project using at least one Poppystamps die or stamp. How will you create a Faerie Kingdom?

11-17+copy IMG_4906-wm

I began my Sugarplum Faerie card by mounting the Brilliant Leaf Frame onto a crisp white card base. I cut out a handful of Stitched Oak Trio leaves in green glittery paper, and curled them up at the ends with my fingers. I added the Scribble Snowflake Circle, and adhered the Winterland Faerie with some foam bits to give her a little pop. A few Faerie sequins finished it off with a little sparkle and shine!

We can't wait to see what you'll create! Show us your Faerie Kingdom and you might be randomly selected to win a gorgeous new Poppystamps surprise!

Thanks so much for joining us today!

Challenge Reminder - Faerie Kingdom

Winter-Faeries-Three
Are you playing along with our November Challenge this month?  This month our theme is "Faerie Kingdom".  We want to see what you've been making with your faerie dies and stamps!  There's so many to choose from in the store!  I love the elegant faerie dies - they remind me of ballerinas...  but the faerie stamps??  Gosh.. they are just too cute to resist!
11-17 copyMaybe you don't  have any faerie images?  That's ok.. how about adding some faerie dust (glitter) to your design?   Faerie dust makes everything MAGICAL!   You have until the end of the month to join us and you can always find the challenge by clicking on the badge in the right column or on the tab at the top of the page.   Here's what I made!
Season-Sparkles-Two
I started with a panel that I inked up in Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  I spritzed it with water, and then I splashed it with some watered down Picked Raspberry and white ink.
Season-Sparkles-One
I  usually plan out my layouts using a sheet of clear plastic the size of my card base.  I position the images where I want them on the plastic so they're easy to move.  I can experiment by placing them over different colored backgrounds to decide what colors work best just picking up the sheet.
Winter-Faeries-One
I decided to put the igloo on a snowbank cut from the Stitched Hills Die.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the cut border before attaching it to the card base.
Winter-Faeries-Two
These little faeries are spreading cheer...  and with a wave of a magic want they're leaving presents for everyone who's been nice!
Winter-Faeries
I attached the faeries with adhesive foam tape to give the appearance that they are flying!
Season-Sparkles
The finishing touch is always some "faerie dust"!  Have you seen all the new sequin tins at Birch Press Design (click here to see them in the store)!  These little stars are from the Fairy Sparkle mix.  They're so nice you'll want them all (I know I do!).

I sure hope you join us for our challenge.  We always love to see what you make and you might just win a $20 gift certificate to the store just for playing!

Faerie Kingdom Challenge Reminder

Have you already joined this month's challenge? The theme is Faerie Kingdom - your project should be fairy themed OR you can just use any type of glitter on it and give it some sparkle and shine! This will make it fairy enough to enter!

And if you already entered remember you can submit up to 3 projects!

Here is the card I have created following the theme - just surround one Faerie die cut with snowflakes, add a little bit of sparkle and here we are in a magical world of elves and fairies!

Crystal Ornaments
by Michele K. Henderson

IMG_4929-wm

Hello Everyone!

As a card maker and a crafter, I LOVE adding lots of sparkle and shine to my projects! The holidays are the PERFECT time to do just that! This is my very first chance to play with the amazing Crystal Ornaments die, and I just fell in love! Take a look at what I created for your today!

IMG_4925-wm

This pretty ornaments die was designed to make it easy to create a paper piecing card using two different techniques, inlay and overlay. To create this ornament trio, I first cut the Crystal Ornament Background out of a crisp snowy white card panel. The background was designed to align with the ornaments perfectly! No estimating or guessing or taping - -I just placed the die down where I wanted it on the panel, then, cut. I adhered a square of crystal pink glitter paper in the back, then added the Crystal ornaments in gold, over the top and fit right in, snug as a bug! I added the Poised Faerie, a few stars from the All Star Collage, and finished it with the Pointed Rectangle Frames.
