Happy "Holly" Days!
by Rachel Duong

Hi everyone, it's Rachel here to share a festive card with a picture word to say Happy "Holly" Days! How fun is that?!  I used the Poppystamps "Layered Holly Leaf Trio" die on an Open Studio "Vintage Tray" 3D embossing folder background. Keep scrolling to see how I made this card.

I began by die cutting the holly on watercolor paper. While painting them, I left the leaves and berries in the paper because this made it easy to keep them in place. For the leaves I used green distress inks-- mowed lawn, rustic wilderness, lucky clover, and twisted citron. I painted the berries with candied apple.  The beauty of watercoloring is that it does not have to be exact!

I die cut the letters from the "Marzipan Alphabet" from the Memory Box "Lush Green" paper pad. Next I embossed a cream A2 size cardfront using the "Vintage Tray" 3D embossing folder. It also comes with a coordinating cutting die.

As I played around with the arrangement of the die cuts, I layered some of the berries. Extra layers allow them on the card at the same level of the leaves.

I glued the pieces to the embossed cardfront and then to a light grey cardbase. Finally I tied a multi-colored bakers twine on the card for interest and character!

Please check out the awesome Poppystamps Christmas release, it is absolutely beautiful!

Until next time, I hope your days are full of fun, creativity and "holly"!

Peace on Earth

There's something enchanting about a snow globe. Small things tucked inside a sphere with bits of sparkle and wonder. I've tucked a pair of Perfect Poinsettias by Memory Box inside this globe for you today.

The background is a lovely embossed panel with the snowglobe adhered in front of it. I liked the idea of the embossed poinsettias showing through the globe. As if you were seeing them through the water.

The globe was cut using the Simple Rings die. The outer ring from cardstock and the inner "globe" from clear acetate. After coloring and adding the poinsettias to the card, I used a glue pen to add glitter to the petals and various spots inside what was to become the globe. I glued the outer ring in place then used adhesive spray to attach the acetate piece.

The snowglobe base is so pretty with it's layers! I created this one using woodgrain paper that was shaded with ink to give it an elegant look. The sentiment created with the Christmas Banners set is the perfect fit.

I hope my snow globe brought a bit of magic to your day and that I've inspired you to create one of your own!

Nordic Christmas

Nordic Christmas3

Have you been enjoying the new Christmas release?  I am so inspired by all the wonderful Nordic designs that Poppystamps recently released.  These beautiful designs allow me to create beautiful cards while honoring my Scandinavian roots.

Let me show you how this card was created:

Nordic Christmas8

I started with the Vintage Tray Embossing Folder & die, cutting it out of white card stock three times.  I glued the three frames together and used only one set of the embossed pieces that popped out of the frame after die cutting it.  I distressed the edges of each little embossed panel using Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink.  I then mounted the frame and negative pieces to the front of an A2 size card base.

Nordic Christmas5

I then die cut the Nordic Bird, Nordic Flourishes, Nordic Whimsy Trees, Nordic Tree Toppers and Flock of Birds out o white card stock.

Nordic Christmas11

Coloring each of the designs using Copic Markers

Nordic Christmas6

as shown in the photo's above.

Nordic Christmas1

Using the Lavish Merry Christmas Die, I cut the framed layer out of vellum and the detailed word die out of gold card stock and glued them together.

Nordic Christmas9

I adhered each of the die cuts to the panels and finished a few of them off with a Bright Fairy Jewels.

Challenge Reminder
by Marybeth Lopez

Hello,Marybeth Lopez  here with you today.  I am here to remind you that you still have plenty of time to play along in the Poppystamps Challenge: Clean and Simple.

I used Poppystamps Foil and Cut Die Set for the simple sentiment and memory box 3D Tropical Leaves and 3D Embossing Folder Add Dimension for the background  panel.

Just keep it Clean and Simple and you must use at least one Poppystamps product to have a chance to win.

I cut two leaves out, I used blending brushes with Ranger Distress Oxide ink. ( Peeled Paint) to get the color on the leaves.

I layered the two leaves just a bit off set.

I adhered my sentiment with foam tape.  Lots of details  and it's  still a very  clean and simple card with lots of white space.

We have a prize too , so hope you play along.

The winner (chosen at random) of this challenge will receive a $20 Gift Certificate to spend on their favorites from the store!

You have until 12 am US EST on August 29  to link up your design here! We'll start a new challenge and announce the winners on September 1!!

Hope you have a blessed week.

Thankful Gracious Flower
by Rachel Duong

Hi it's Rachel back with another card using the amazing "Gracious Floral" image by Memory Box!  This time I used a cooler palette of blues and greens. I love the peaceful, calming feel of these colors.

To create this card, I dry embossed the floral image on white cardstock. I die cut it out and blended ink over the stencils.

Next I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed it in gold.

Then I wrapped the image in 1 mm burlap string. I adhered the pieces to the  card base. Finally I splattered water-downed white acrylic paint over the card.

These are the supplies I used.

Thank you for all you do! Please take a look at the incredible coordinating supplies for this image. Dies, stamps, 5 layering stencils and an embossing folder. Wow! Have a happy summer day. See you next month.

Gracious Floral...just because
by Rachel Duong

Hi Friends! It's Rachel here to share a gorgeous floral card displaying all the sunny, warm tones of summer!  I used the Memory Box  "Gracious Floral" set of stencils, dies, and stamps.  It is amazing!

I began by dry embossing the image on white cardstock. I placed the stencils on the flower and blended distress ink over the petals and leaves. There are five stencils in the package! Next I die cut the image out. I stamped a few sentiments in Versamark ink on black cardstock, heat embossed in gold, and die cut the image.

As you can see, I chose the "just because" sentiment! Then to create the background I scribbled sharpie pens in green, yellow, orange and red over a sheet of heavy vellum. I dripped rubbing alcohol on the color and blended lightly with a paintbrush. After dry, I adhered it to a white card base. I glued the flower on the background. Finally, I glued the sentiment on the flower to finish the card.

These are the supplies I used.

The bright, fluid background paired with the soft colors of the flower creates a stunning contrast to the rich and bold sentiment. I just love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you get a chance to create very soon. I don't know about you, but I am so inspired by all that is warm, beautiful and lovely this summer. Take care and have a fantastic day!
