Pile of Pumpkins
by Candice Crawford

IMG_2612

Hi there crafty friends! Today I am sharing an autumn card using the new Pile of Pumpkins die set from the Poppystamps new release.  Today's card is another one of my clean and simple designs. I paired the pumpkins with the adorable Country Garden Wheelbarrow dies to create the perfect autumn scene.

The background of the card is made using my Distress Oxide Inks in Mustard Seed, Abandon Coral and Walnut Stain. These blend of colors make the perfect autumn sunset for a great fall theme card.

The sentiment comes from the the Pumpkin Patch stamp set and pairs perfectly with the Pile of Pumpkins dies. I stamp the sentiment in clear Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white detail embossing powder from Ranger.

This card comes together rather quickly and can easily be massed produced. Whip up a few Fall cards in now time and be ready to send grateful blessings to your family and friends this Fall season. I hope you have enjoyed today's card project and found inspiration. Until next time... Happy Crafting.

Christmas Lantern
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0002

Hello! Nancy here, and I have a Christmas card for you today. Poppystamps has some gorgeous new holiday dies in the store, and I thought I'd bring you some inspiration with one or 2 of them.

DSC_0005_wm

Simple Lantern Oval is one of the new craft dies, and I paired it with another newbie, a sentiment die called, Snowy Merry Christmas.

DSC_0154

Here's a shot of what I did... I knew I wanted to use some of the new Memory Box designer papers with the gold running through, and chose this black and white plaid. Then I die cut the lantern die 4 times, once with black glitter paper, and 3 times with plain black cardstock. I traced one of the ovals on white and cut it out by hand.

DSC_0158

The white oval was given a glow with some Squeezed Lemon Oxide Ink before gluing the lantern layers together, with the glitter on top. Kinda looks like the lantern is all 'aglow'. I cut the 'merry Christmas' sentiment 3 times from glitter card stock and carefully cut the white snow off the merry, before adding it to the top of the black layer.

I love how the red shadow gives it a nice pop of color!

Speaking of pop, you can see how all those layers gives dimension to the card.

It's September folks, time to get a move on those holiday cards! Check out all the new dies, stamps and cardstock in the Poppystamps store. Have a great week!

Stained Glass Angel
Candice Crawford

IMG_2403

Hi there crafty friends! Today I am sharing on the blog another holiday card from the new release.  This card is using the new Stained Glass Angel die.  To start, you will first need to create your background layer. Sponge on Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink onto a 3.5 inch x 4.5 inch piece of white cardstock.

D828C072-EFEF-44C7-A130-22B55BAD8BEC-C28E9B81-BA6C-47BA-AFB0-F36C6D5058A0

Add some water splatters then dry off the splatters with a piece of paper towel. Next add some white paint splatters using a whait craft paint, water and a paint brush.

Now die cut the stained glass angel image from the die 3 times using white, silver and gold card stock. From the white card stock piece, you will only need the angel pieces from the die. From the gold card stock, you will only need to save the halo. You will use the entire frame outline of the image from the silver card stock.

Next die cut a 4.25 x 5.5. inch silver stitched border frame using the Stitched Rectangle Trimmings die from Memory Box.

To assemble your card, first add the silver trimmings border to a white card base using liquid adhesive. Next adhere your stained glass angle frame to your distress inked background with your choice of adhesive. I find spray adhesive works well on intricate frame pieces such as this one.

Now paper piece your angel together using the die cut white and gold angle and halo pieces. Next adhere your focal image to the center of your card using some 3M foam tape. Finally stamp your sentiment from the new Christmas quotes sentiment set and pop that sentiment onto the card with foam tape.

I hope you all have enjoyed today's project and found inspiration. Until next time, happy crafting!

Dancing Leaves
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0018

Are you about done with summer? Looking forward to Autumn? Cooler weather, changing of the leaves, and hopefully closer to a Covid vaccine...

DSC_0015_wm

I'm showing a new die from Poppy, in the shop now, and so sweet I just had to share!

It's called, Maple Symphony, and here's a look at how I used it to create my Autumn greeting card.

DSC_0010

When you die cut the panel, the leaves are easily separated. I used my oxide inks to color them.

DSC_0014

I added drops of ink and white paint. I even think just leaving the solid color behind the leaves is gorgeous. I just love how oxide ink colors blend together, so I played a bit with colors.

DSC_0025_wm

The sentiment is versamarked onto a Heat Resistant Acetate, as I wanted to see the leaves behind the words.

Is it blazing hot where you live? We routinely have 100+ in my valley, great for ripening fruit, but not for keeping a garden alive! Hope you found some 'cool' inspiration today. The  Maple Symphony die is available in Poppy's store now (together with some new Christmas dies). I'm sure a release/giveaway is around the corner!

Stay well and safe my friends! Hugs!

August Challenge Reminder
by Sue McRae

DSCN0303c

Hi everyone, Sue here with a reminder post about Poppystamps August Challenge, Heat Wave, which can incorporate all sorts of ideas like summer, heat embossing and hot colours.

68394179_2655431668016511_1269921559120707584_n

I decided to use hot colours and heat embossing on my shaker card.

DSCN0279c

I started by stenciling the Midnight Mandala Stencil onto white card stock with Distress Oxide Inks.

DSCN0286c

I cleaned off  the stencil, taped it back in place over my design and applied glass bead glitter gel over top. Make sure to wash your stencil and tools right away before the gel hardens or else you'll need a chisel to clean everything! The gel is milky when wet and dries to a clear sparkly finish!

DSCN0322c

I die cut the largest Stitchwork Square Frame in red and added clear acetate and foam tape along the back to create my shaker box. I used a double layer of foam because the glitter gel has some height to it and I wanted to make sure there was going to be room for the sequins to shaker around.

DSCN0313c

For the shaker elements I used clear sequins and seeds beads in colours that matched the inks.

I attached this onto a white card base and white heat embossed the sentiment onto black card stock and added it to the front of my card.

DSCN0295c

Now it's your turn to join the August Challenge. You have all month to play along and a winner will be randomly chosen to win a $20 gift certificate to the Poppystamps online store! I can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Crafting!

Watering Can Hello
by Nancy Penir

DSC_0064

Hello! How about a super, summery, simple post today? Using a few dies, and a card panel I had in my stash, this card came together in a jiffy.

DSC_0051

I like to get my die cut elements all set, and play with arrangements.

DSC_0067 2_wm

The new Flora blooms are sure to brighten anyone's day!

DSC_0065

The watering can is popped up, and my hello sentiment was cut from both white and dark green, creating a shadow effect.

Are you having a crafty week? Try making an all die cut card. Quick, easy, and packs an impact! Stay well my friends!
