Welcome! Poppystamps begins the New Year with a Blog Blitz and a chance for you to win the beautiful new dies in the 2020 Valentine collection! Come take a look at the new Meadowblossom Frame and Stencil.

DSC_0012_wm

The beautiful etched heart and frame die cut with perfectly wonderful detail. And Poppy includes the stencil which allows you to color the flowers. Take a look at how I made my card.

DSC_0081

Using 2 Distress Ink colors, I loosely applied ink to my card front.

DSC_0082

You can't see the die cut frame, but I positioned it on my card front, then inserted the heart into the frame and lightly penciled around it. This is where my sentiment will go.

New to Poppy's Valentine release is this sentiment set called, Valentine's Fun. Hugs and Kisses has the sweetest curly flourish and fits perfectly within the heart.

After stenciling and inking my flowers, I added some detail with these copic colors.

I also added a small bouquet at the top of the heart, and some Nuvo drops to the flower centers.

O Holy Night
by Tina Wilstrup

Watermark1.572808249747E12

Hi Poppy fans! It's now 5 days till Christmas and I have a card for you that shows the calm of that holy night.
Watermark1.572808249747E12

I die cut and Copic colored the Whittle sleepy fox and the village houses. I picked out the windows from the houses and colored them individually so the houses look like they're filled with light and trees.
Watermark1.572808249747E12

I forgot to take a picture of the background (sorry) but before assembling I inkblended the backgrond with oxide inks and splattered it with silver acrylic paint. I hand cut 2 panels for snowy hills and inked the top of them. The top layer is popped up. I then popped up the houses and fox and shaded under them with Copic markers. Notice the fox' pawprints. He loves the silence and the squeeking snow.
Watermark1.572808249747E12

My plan was to use the O holy noght flourish as smoke from one of the chimneys, and so I wanted to heat emboss it. In order not to break the intricate cut I layered 5 cuts. I then heat embossed 3 layers of WOW! white twinkle embossing powder. It's white with silver glitter and perfect for the smoke.

This is my last post this year, so I thank you for all your sweet comments and I hope your Christmas is as calm and cozy as this scene.  I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Penguin shaker
by Tina Wilstrup

Watermark1.572810370585E12
Hello everyone! We are closing in on that one holy and so very special night and I'm here to share a cute shaker card with you.
IMG_20191127_213640

I first die cut the background and snowy hills of the snowglobe kit. I ink blended the background and the top of the hills using distress oxide inks. I flicked some diluted white acrylic paint over the background for a snowy look.
IMG_20191127_213640

I cut a panel and sprayed it with watercolors sprays. I'll admit this was my first time using them and the intencity of the color kind of surprised me. But I felt the look worked fine for a night time scene. Before the panel dried I also sprayed with a shimmer spray for a clear, frosty and sparkly look.

I die cut the sentiment die and the snowflake tile from silver glitter cardstock. I cut off the frame so I had parts of the snowflakes. Making sure all the elements would fit I glued the sentiment and snowflakes in place. I also added a couple of stars with a white gelly roll pen.
IMG_20191127_213640

I placed the base and frame of the globe as well as the snowy hills. I then added the 2 darling penguins, colored with Copics, and lots of sequins, gems and chunky glitter.
IMG_20191127_213640

The frame of the globe I cut 6-7 times and layered them ending with a layer of acetate and one cut from silver glitter cardstock and placed over the globe. So pretty! I then added the stand of the globe, also Copic colored, popped up with craft foam.

So there you have my holiday shaker. I appreciate you stopping by and would love if you would leave me a comment.

Mouse warming
by Tina Wilstrup

Watermark1.572790422814E12

Warning! These mischievous mice are turning this cozy relaxing by the fireplace into a mouse warming party!
Watermark1.572790422814E12

I die cut all the pieces from white cardstock, except for the stockings that were cut from Memory Box patterned paper. The mice were colored with Copics and the rest were colored with Distress regular and oxide inks.
Watermark1.572790422814E12

I marked out where I wanted the fireplace and inked up the background with oxide ink. I extended the color from the fireplace to most of the background.
Watermark1.572790422814E12

I popped up the fireplace and as you can see the mice are hanggliding in the Christmas stockings.
Watermark1.572790422814E12

To prevent the watchful corgis to chase them away, a couple of mice have tied their tails together.

I hope you like my inspiration! Thanks for stopping by today. Have a hapy crafty day!

So Very Thankful
by Dana Kirby

SavingPNG-5

Hi Friends! It is Dana here today sharing a fun Fall card with you all that uses the Gorgeous Leafy Background die. I am in love with this die, and the possibilities are endless. Let's get started, shall we?

I started my card by die cutting the Leafy Background from white cardstock two times. On my first pass through my die cutting machine I applied as little pressure as possible to try and keep as many pieces (leaves) as I could to stay inside the die. I then added strips of scotch tape to the back of this first die cut to help hold all of the little pieces inside the die. I used my Copic markers to color all of the leaves in fall colors. I didn't worry about staying in the lines because I knew my edges would be covered, you also want to make sure you go over the edges a little so that there is not any white showing. Next, I ran the Leafy Background die through my die cutting machine a second time to get a clean cut.

SavingPNG-4

Next, I used a liquid glue to attach the white Leafy Background die cut over my colored leaves. I love how the leaves look like they are inlaid without having to do all of the work. By adding the tape behind my colored leaves I knew they were not going to fall out when I attached the two die cuts together. Once I had my square finished I cut it in half so I could use it on the top and bottom of my card design.

SavingPNG-6

For my sentiment, I used the Autumn Leaves sentiment set. I stamped my sentiment and the little leaves with VersaMark ink and heat set gold embossing powder onto my cardstock. I then attached my Leafy Background to the top and bottom of my card panel. To finish my card I attached my card panel to a top folding A2 card base and tied some twine under my sentiment.

SavingPNG-3

Thanks for joining me today. I hope I inspired you to try this fun and easy technique.

Enjoy your day!

Holiday blog blitz: Spinner santa
by Tina Wilstrup

Watermark1.572440796767E12

Hello everyone! Have you started your Christmas card collection? The Christmas Blog Blitz is in full swing and I've got some fun inspiration for you, plus a chance to win the cute Whittle Santa face die. Read all the way to the end for info.

Watermark1.572440796767E12

Since this santa die is symmetrical I imediately thought to make a spinner card. So i die cut the santa twice and colored it with Copics. The 4 die cut pieces are easy to assemble.
Watermark1.572440796767E12

I used my adhesive runner on the back of one santa and made sure the silver thread was possitioned in the middle. I then put glue on the back of the other and attached them back to back.

IMG_20191030_141235

The gorgeous patterned paper is from Memory Box and I die cut a circle that fits the santa. I then aligned with the card base to insure the holes would match.
IMG_20191030_141235

With my adhesive runner I then made sure the silver thread and santa was secured in the middle of the hole on the card base.
IMG_20191030_141235

Then I placed the patterned paper over the base and finished off with a frame cut from silver glitter cardstock. I also used another Memory Box paper for the inside of the card as a backer for the santa.
IMG_20191030_141235

From the same dottet paper I cut the shadow of the Holiday Joy, and the word itself was cut from the same silver glitter cardstock.

Watermark1.572440884597E12

Now all you have to do is turn the little santa, close the card and put it in the envolope and you'll be sure to bring a happy smile to the face of someone special.

Like I said, you could be the lucky winner of the Whittle Santa Face die. Follow these instructions.
