Adorable Kitty Kit
by Meghan Kennihan

Hi Crafty Friends,
I am a #dogmom but I love this Whittle Adorable Kitty Kit! It makes it so easy to create darling kitten scenes for the Cat Lovers in your life!
I started out by cutting the cats out of gray, pale orange, and cream colored paper then I used a slightly darker shade Copic marker to color the fur patterns.

Final_4 (4)

I used the stamps in the kit to make my paw print background then framed my kitty scene with the Poppy Stamps Scalloped Stitched Frame Dies.

I finished my two cards by adding the darling pun sentiments to each. Thank you for stopping by! Head to my Instagram @madebymeghank or blog (www.madebymeghank.com) for more!

Halloween Feline Shaker Card
by Sphoorti

Hello there, Poppy Peeps!

Sphoorti again with another card made with the Cat Collage die from the 2022 Fall release! This one is very similar to Rainbow Cat Collage card I posted about yesterday. The biggest difference is that I took it one step forward and made it a see through shaker card!

For this card, I took a card base sized approximately 4" x 4". I used the Cat Collage die on the top flap and cut right through it. So, this card actually "sees through" to the inside. This time, on the inside, I left it blank. On the outside, however, I ink-blended my head off. I cut another panel with the same die in the same spot, and I used distress inks to ink-blend on top of it (Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Villainous Potion, Uncharted Mariner, and Black Soot). I took some Perfect Pearls in gold and perfect pearl color and splattered them all over the panel.

Under this layer, I adhered an acetate sheet. I took a number of foam strips and adhered them to the panel. Then, I took some shaker bits (some silver rhinestones I had lying around) and filled the shaker well with them. Then, I took another piece of acetate and covered up the shaker well so that the shaker bits had a backing. I took this shaker panel and aligned it with the card base which already had the cat collage die cut from it and adhered it to it. I also scattered some rhinestones on the outside panel. The result is a see-through shaker card that's absolutely stunning, if I do say so myself!

I hot foiled the "Miss You" sentiment from the PSF802 Modest Greetings 1 Hot Foil Plate and Die in silver foil and adhered it to the bottom right side of the card.

At first I used some silver foil from the FP1002 Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6x6 pack to cut the kitty out and adhere him on top of the card. I had another kitty that I cut out from black foiled card stock in the FP1003 Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6 pack. I couldn't make up my mind between the black foiled kitty and the silver foiled kitty, so my boyfriend and my crafty friend, Judy, helped break the tie for me. Here are some pictures of how the card looked with the silver kitty:

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Which one did you like better - the silver kitty or the black? I must say I'm glad I went with the black kitty because October 27th was National Black Cat Awareness Day, and tomorrow's Halloween, and we also have the cutest black cat ever! It all came together, as it was meant to be.

Love,

Sphoorti

Rainbow Cat Collage Card!
by Sphoorti

Hello there, Poppy Peeps!

Sphoorti here with a mixed medium card using the stunning Cat Collage die from the 2022 Fall release! Let's jump right in!

For this card, I took a card base sized 4.25 x 5.5 and used the Cat Collage die on the top flap and cut right through it. So, this card actually "sees through" to the inside. On the inside, I took a circle mask I made (took a piece of card stock and cut a circle out of it) and ink blended using some Concord and 9th inks that I had on my desk at the time. Then, I took some Nuvo Dream Drops in the Cloud 9 color and squirted it all over and evenly spread a thin layer before removing the mask.

I wanted my kitty to stand out more, so I took some silver foil card stock from the FP1002 Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6x6 pack and cut out the kitten from it and adhered it to my card base on top of the white kitty.

The front of the card looked a little bare to me, so I took the stitched rectangle frame from the 2478 Scalloped Stitch Frames craft die and cut a few layers and stacked them up and adhered the chip-board like frame to the card base.

For the sentiment, I used the Playful Hugs die and stacked a bunch of die cuts together to get the chipboard look and feel and adhered it below the kitty. I scattered some clear rhinestones for some shine too. This card was quite fun to make and I really liked the see-through effect with the texture paste in the back.

Here are some additional pictures that show the see through / cutout effect, and the effect of the Nuvo Drops on the ink blending.

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Let me know if you liked it! I have a variation of this card coming up very soon! Hint: It's Halloween themed, and it'll make you shake! See you soon!

Love,

Sphoorti

Hello Poppy Peeps!

I'm back with more kitty cards! For the last three posts that I had (Hello Kitties, Kittens All Around, and Baby Kittens), I cut out SO. MANY. KITTENS. For the most part, I kept using little scraps of paper I had to die cut the kittens because I wanted to use up the scraps (and feel like I'm doing my best to protect the planet). But when I ran out of scraps, I used a piece of card stock and I realized I could use that piece as a stencil! And let me tell ya, once I had that now-a-stencil piece, it got the creative juices flowing and I made three cards total with it.

Card # 1:

275100A5-87DF-4C8B-BEA8-FF51F8B0D3FF

The first card I made was pretty straightforward - I just ink-blended through the stencil with some distress oxide inks (Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet). Then, I used the stencil again to cover it with some Versamark ink and heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder. This was so that the color-blended kitties were "protected" against further inking that was upcoming.

Then, I took a Black Soot distress ink pad and ran it all over the card panel - direct to paper. I wanted everything to be stark black so that the kitties stand out. Since the kitties have a coat of clear embossing, they resist the black ink and we end up with the really cool glow-in-the-dark effect like so:

275100A5-87DF-4C8B-BEA8-FF51F8B0D3FF

I hot foiled the "You are amazing" sentiment from the PSF804 You Are Amazing Poe Script Greetings Hot Foil Plate and Dies and adhered it to the middle of the card.

8F18ACE7-1F4A-4330-ABA3-3C730EFFA00F

I felt like something was missing, so I asked my friend, Judy, what else I could do. She suggested putting gems as collars for the kitties. I didn't have tiny gems, so I used a glue pen and drew in some dots and then used deco foil for that shiny effect. It was hard because the glue kept coming off of the glossy kittens, but I kept at it. I was much happier after the collars were dotted in. What do you think? I loved it! This woman is brilliant, I tell ya! Funnily, at first glance, she thought the dots were eyes! I guess I could have gone that way too, I would have just needed to use fewer dots. Not sure how I feel about four-eyed mutant kittens.

Card # 2

This one was my favorite of these three! I used the same stencil I used on the previous card with the Baby Kittens cut out of it, but instead of distress ink blending, I used some Transfer Gel Duo paste and applied it through the stencil to a plain piece of card stock. After it dried (I gave it four days because I did not want the paste to smear while going through heat and pressure), I used some deco-foil and ran the panel through my laminator.

B6730DE6-0EB5-4A3E-93B8-F08B9D8D4FD7

It was absolutely magical! I couldn't stop staring at it! It also has a bit of 3-D effect because I used a thick layer of the Duo Gel so, if you run your fingers over the kitties, you get some major ASMR! I recorded a video of the card to show how gorgeous the shine is. Check it out here: https://youtube.com/shorts/0Mht6LO0PeU

B6730DE6-0EB5-4A3E-93B8-F08B9D8D4FD7

I used the PSF807 Birthday Wishes Poe Script Hot Foil Plate and Dies to hot foil the "Hello" sentiment and applied it to the middle of the card panel that had the foiled kitties.

B6730DE6-0EB5-4A3E-93B8-F08B9D8D4FD7

I still felt like something was missing, so I pulled out my favorite tool in the craft room which makes everything better - Diamond Dust! I took some dry adhesive and applied it to the card base and sprinkled the diamond dust all over it and burnished it in.

B6730DE6-0EB5-4A3E-93B8-F08B9D8D4FD7

I really liked how this card turned out and sent it to someone who is a kitty lover, and follows the PoppyStamps blog and posts really sweet comments on all of our posts. (Shout out to Patricia Howarth! Thank you SO much for all your engagement and encouragement!)

Card # 3:

DD579418-67EE-4AA4-83FC-C711F0A9265D

I'll be honest, this was my least favorite of these three cards. I had the leftover stencil with texture paste from the previous card I made and I didn't want it to go to waste. So, I foiled it using some deco foil and ran it through my laminator.

4368558C-FD1A-47C9-BB02-F19192B0AFD6

I decided to make it a shaker card, so I used the frame from the 2474 Double Scalloped Stitched Frames craft die with some foam tape and filled the shaker well with some confetti and seed beads.

5CDD6945-E340-458E-B609-E17BA50AB877

I used the PSF807 Birthday Wishes Poe Script Hot Foil Plate and Dies to hot foil the "Hello" sentiment and applied it to the middle of the card panel and mounted the panel to the card base and called it done.

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Which card did you like best? Please do let me know! I love to hear from you! Thank you for sticking with me through the end of this very long post! Be back soon!

Love,

Spooky Night
by Michele K. Henderson

IMG_3981-wm

Hello Poppystamps Friends!

The spooky season is here and we have had so much fun playing with the newest Halloween and Autumn dies from Poppystamps! Today, I am sharing a bright mixed media design using the new Cat Collage, Twisted Houses, and Leafy Branch Oval. Take a look!

IMG_3980-wm

The very first step I took was to get out my alcohol inks and create a panel with deep blood oranges and vivid yellows, and let that dry for about 3 days! Where I live in Florida, alcohol ink panels can stay sticky for days! When it was finally dry, I cut out the Cat Collage from a black panel, along with the Leafy Branch Oval, Twisted Houses, and Snowman and Trees.

IMG_3974-wm

I then cut tiny squares from my YUPO paper alcohol ink panel a little smaller than each twisted House, and glued in to the back. I also cut a circle  a little larger than my Cat Collage moon and glued that to the back of my black card base. I used tiny foam pop dot circles on the backs of each Twisted House, then assembled everything on my card.

IMG_3985-wm

That was the fun part! The vivid color of the blended alcohol inks make these little houses and cat perfect for some spooky fun!

IMG_3983-wm

I finished the card with a few Fairy Jewels and Treasure Chest Fairy Gemstones for a fun finishing touch! Let's get our boos on!

Thanks for joining us today!
