Hi and welcome! It's time to celebrate in the USA, and I've 'baked' a cake card for all to share!

Poppy's fabulous Floral Cake Pop Up Easel Set is so much fun to use, but it's also fabulously versatile. 

All the pieces for this card (with the exception of the sentiments) are included in the set. No stamping necessary (unless you want to of course!). The designers have been knocking this set out of the park! Be sure to scroll through the blog for more fabulous ideas.

I love the bright red, white and blue all die cut and shinning bright on this card! 

I won't keep you, don't let those burgers and hot dogs burn on the grill!

Hello Friends!

Today I am sharing a card that features one of my favorite new Poppystamps dies, Brilliant Geraniums! Take a look!

Growing up in Wisconsin, I would see big, bright, red geraniums EVERYWHERE! Stinky and sturdy, these hardy flowers were the harbingers of summer and could be found on Grandmas's porch, my parents' planters around the patio, and under the neighbor's mailbox. Their bold colors remind me of Americana in the Midwest, and carefree summer days when kids rode bicycles down the street without helmets until the streetlights came on. Imperfect and beautiful, up on the windowsill, the chipped ceramic geranium pot brought bright color all summer long.

Creating the parts for your your own geranium pot is easy! Cut out your brightest red, your greenest green, and put them all together under the Grand Madison Window.

I cut the Freestyle Hugs in bright red and white, and added a few Fairy Crystals for the finishing touch, and I have a wonderful summer memory saved on a card that's going to be sent to a dear friend of mine from my little home town in Wisconsin.

Butterflies Galore by Janet Katz

I'm a sucker for butterflies on cards and this card is the evidence. I started work using a premade watercolor background. It was just an abstract painting using a few colors of bright pink ink on watercolor paper.

Next, I used the new Stained Glass Butterfly Collage die, which is a single large die, to cut out the butterfly "windows" from a piece of 110lb white cardstock. You can see the watercolor beneath. 

I was really taken with the three tiny butterflies towards the bottom of the die. I had a premade ink-blended background of three yellow Distress Oxides. I cut only the lower half of the die so I could pop out the tiny yellow butterflies. Next I wanted a bright pink butterfly outline. I was working on the card away from home and didn't have bright pink cardstock with me. No problem. I sponged Picked Raspberry Distress Ink onto a square of thick white cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Large Stained Glass Butterfly.

I cut out the coordinating background of this die from the white pearl paper inside the Poppystamps Vintage Pastel 6x6 Mirror paper pad. Finally, I cut the body of the butterfly from brown cardstock. I adhered these three together down the center only so the outline could lift off the pearl background.

I saw a card online with flowers added to butterfly wings, so I decided to do the same. I cut the smallest flowers from the same yellow ink-blended background using the Potpourri Flower Set and the Petite Blooms Flower Set. The green leaves are from the Floral Cake Pop Up Easel die set. I stacked two flowers for each bloom and glued a brown enamel dot in the center of each.

 

I adhered these to the butterfly and then used foam adhesive to glue the flowers to the butterfly. I adhered the white panel to a bright pink card base. Finally, I added a premade sentiment strip along with the 3 tiny yellow butterflies to the card.

Birthday Blooms by Marybeth Lopez

Hi there, Marybeth Lopez  here again today with a blooming birthday card for you today. All white paper was used in this card. I used the : Poppystamps  Floral Cake Pop Up Easel Set for the leaves only. The flower die from Poppystamps is called Petite Blooms Flower Set. 

I die cut a few blooms then shaded very lightly with distressed ink. I did the same with the die cut  leaves. Once the darker centers were added to the flower I dotted with a black fine tip marker.

I used my quilting stiletto ( the gold slender pointy thing) to curl the edges of the petals and leaves before adhering them to my card base.

I am very pleased at how easily, this card came together. I had all my foiled sentiments all made up at the same. . So nice to make a few ahead of time and ready to go when needed.  Everything I used is linked below.
