Holiday Blog Blitz: Holly Frame
by Sue McRae

P1370409c

Hello crafty friends, Sue here with my first card for the Poppystamps design team! This is a perfect time to pop in for a visit because there's a blog blitz going on with great Christmas prizes every day!

Today I'm featuring the new Holly Frame and Stencil set and it's a beauty with a lot of detail going on around the frame, around the circular window and on the leaves.

P1370413c

I started by die cutting the frame from green fibre card stock, layering the stencil over it and applying some dark green ink with a blender brush for a soft contrast on the leaves.

P1370397c

Then I die cut the Delicate Poinsettias from red fibre card stock and decided to add a little sparkle to the petals. I took a finger dauber, tapped it into Versamark ink and lightly dabbed the edges of the flower petals. I sprinkled on some red glitter embossing powder and heat set. Now the flowers have a pretty glittery edge.

P1370398c

I also die cut the poinsettia from vellum, cut apart the petals and used them as leaves. For the sentiment I used Tidings of Joy stamp and die set and gold embossed the word Joy. This is a great little set of sentiments to have for Christmas cards.

P1370411c

For my assembled card I cut a piece of gold glitter card stock to place behind the holly panel and adhered everything together. I finished off by adding red Stickles around the frame and adding a jewel for the flower centre.

IMG_4516-crop

I created a Village in my Snowglobe, two gorgeous die sets from our new Holiday collection.

I used a Rose Gold Glitter card, liked the touch of red in this card..I did cut the village houses out, but ended just using the roofs.

IMG_4507-crop

This is the new Washy Tape from Poppystamps, I adhered to white card, I did find it hard to get of the roll! might be me as not something I have every used ..Washy Tape.

IMG_4508-crop

Did cut really well in my machine. think you can see the pattern better here, than on the finished card.

IMG_4510-crop

Memory Box have started these Papers again, they are lush double sided papers!..I used a sheet from Dashing Strips & Dots pad. Old Poppystamp die Wooded Glen Landscape.

IMG_4512-crop

My second cut, I added Washy tape.

IMG_4513-crop

Adhered off center onto a white card 6"x 6".

IMG_4518-crop

I have cut my village houses in red card, added my glitter roofs , adhered to the card as shown.

Holiday blog blitz: Spinner santa
by Tina Wilstrup

Watermark1.572440796767E12

Hello everyone! Have you started your Christmas card collection? The Christmas Blog Blitz is in full swing and I've got some fun inspiration for you, plus a chance to win the cute Whittle Santa face die. Read all the way to the end for info.

Watermark1.572440796767E12

Since this santa die is symmetrical I imediately thought to make a spinner card. So i die cut the santa twice and colored it with Copics. The 4 die cut pieces are easy to assemble.
Watermark1.572440796767E12

I used my adhesive runner on the back of one santa and made sure the silver thread was possitioned in the middle. I then put glue on the back of the other and attached them back to back.

IMG_20191030_141235

The gorgeous patterned paper is from Memory Box and I die cut a circle that fits the santa. I then aligned with the card base to insure the holes would match.
IMG_20191030_141235

With my adhesive runner I then made sure the silver thread and santa was secured in the middle of the hole on the card base.
IMG_20191030_141235

Then I placed the patterned paper over the base and finished off with a frame cut from silver glitter cardstock. I also used another Memory Box paper for the inside of the card as a backer for the santa.
IMG_20191030_141235

From the same dottet paper I cut the shadow of the Holiday Joy, and the word itself was cut from the same silver glitter cardstock.

Watermark1.572440884597E12

Now all you have to do is turn the little santa, close the card and put it in the envolope and you'll be sure to bring a happy smile to the face of someone special.

Like I said, you could be the lucky winner of the Whittle Santa Face die. Follow these instructions.

Holiday Blog Blitz: Believe Flourish
by Candice Crawford

Poppystamps Novmber Blog Blitz Photo 1 with signature

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are enjoying the Holiday Blog Blitz! Today I am sharing with you the Believe Flourish die from the new release. This die is great as a single focal point on a card, but also each component of the die can be separated and used individually just how I used the believe sentiment for today's card.

Today's card is packed with a lot of new dies from the Holiday release which all coordinate and pair wonderfully together. I paired the new Snowglobe kit, townhouses, and dancing snowflake dies together to make the cute winter scene card; leaving the Believe Flourish die as the star of the show!

November Blog Blitz 2

I used silver mirror cardstock from my stash to die cut the flourish and sentiment from the Believe Flourish die. Then I carefully separated the word Believe from the flourish with my scissors and placed it as the sentiment for my card.

November Blog Blitz 4

I just love how shiny the Believe sentiment pops off the card.

For the snowflake elements on the card I used the Dancing Snowflake tile die similar to how I used the Believe flourish die and die cut the snowflake tile from some white cardstock. I then cut the two middle snowflakes from the die cut piece with my scissors and placed them as background elements on my card.

November Blog Blitz 3
I love thinking outside of the box and using the Poppystamps dies for more than their intended purpose. Many of the dies can be die cut and the components can be used individually for other purposes within your projects.

November blog blitz final

Blog Blitz: Merry Christmas
by Dana Kirby

SavingPNG-1

Hi there Poppy Friends! The Holiday Blog Blitz is continuing today, and I am showcasing the fun new Townhouses die set. I will have more information about how you can win this wonderful die set at the bottom of my post. Let's get started with my card, shall we?

IMG_5165

I started my card by ink blending Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers at the top of my card panel. I then die cut the Merry Christmas Flourish sentiment from white cardstock and attached it to the top of my card panel. I am creating a slim line card today. My card panel measures 3 x 8 inches with my overall card measuring 3.5 x 9 inches.

IMG_5166

Next, I used the Stitched Hills die set and die cut my hills from white cardstock. I attached the hills to my card panel with foam adhesive so my ground/hills would have some dimension.

IMG_5170

For my houses I used the Townhouses and Village Houses, and for my trees I used the Whittle Trees die sets . I die cut them from white cardstock and then used my Distress Oxide Ink sponges to add ink to the homes and tress. I didn't add any fresh ink to my sponges, I just used the "left over" ink that was left on my sponges from another project. I find this works well for small die cuts and when I don't want the color too intense.

IMG_5171

I also added a small strip of yellow cardstock behind my houses for the light in the windows.

IMG_5175

Next, I began adding my houses to my card front. I used both liquid glue and foam adhesive, keeping some houses flat while other are raised.

IMG_5199

I also tucked in some Whittle Trees around my houses. I love how all of these dies work so well together to help build your scene.

SavingPNG

To finish my card, I attached everything to my slim line card base. This is a fun card size to build a scene on and it can be mailed in a standard sized business envelope without any extra postage.

And now for the part you've been waiting for! You could win this gorgeous and versatile Townhouses die set!

Here's all the details of the event....

Holiday Blog Blitz

Hi there and welcome to the Poppystamps Holiday Blog Blitz! The design team will be showcasing some of the new, beautiful dies from the mini Holiday release. All you have to do is leave a comment for a chance to win this beautiful and simple to use Snowglobe Kit Craft die

1C51D88B-8804-4BB3-A63F-E54CE6009808_1_201_a

First thing I did was use a blending brush with oxide inks , to make the background  sky. Then I splattered it with my shimmer pen.

D73D5EA4-C35B-444D-9DF7-FF82B8493953_1_201_a

At first I was going to add the fun foam to the back of each snow drift ,then decided to only add it to the largest one so not to have it too thick.

3CF485C0-70A5-43D8-977D-882237A56CFC_1_201_a

I used the circle die to trace a circle just a bit bigger than the inside of the snow globe. I layered the outer frame die about 3 or 4 times. I used craft store fine glitter paper for the snow drifts, then added a bit of chunky glitter, for more snow.

295FD8ED-44AA-4AEA-B2E5-04D11C51DA9F_1_201_a

I colored all my paper with Copic markers.  The trees are made from the Holly Outline Die from Poppystamps . So excited that Memory box will now carry patterned paper !!!! For the snowy backdrop to this card I used Dashing Holiday 6x6 paper pack. I just love those playful deer from last year , I will probably use them every Christmas.

D78AE7EF-5D60-4BF3-8442-9EA888A41206

Don't for get for a chance to win the Snowglobe Kit Craft die just leave a comment for a chance to win.

Holiday Blog Blitz: Merry Christmas
By Nancy Penir

DSC_0017

Hi everyone and welcome to Poppystamps' Holiday Blog Blitz. I'm featuring the new Christmas Flourish. Let's have a closer look at this beautiful die.

DSC_0020_wm

Gorgeous isn't it? And do you notice anything else? The holiday paper, maybe? Yup. A beautiful book of double sided papers available this holiday season too! Let's take a look at a fun way to make a couple of holiday cards with this new die.

DSC_0003

I cut the Merry Christmas die out several times with glitter paper. This is an intricate die so I used my shim to get a precise cut. Also I knew I'd be backing the die with a darker shadow and cut it out with black Cardstock as well.

DSC_0004

A white background circle was shaded a bit with ink using a blender brush.

DSC_0009

The green Christmas die cut just popped against one of the new papers included in the Holiday Paper pack.

DSC_0007_wm

Couldn't resist adding the grosgrain ribbon die behind the sentiment on this card.

Holiday Blog Blitz Begins!
By Jeanne Jachna

 Snowflake-Peace-Five
What a great day for a visit!  We've got more new release products to share with you and to celebrate we're having a blog blitz.  This is a time we set aside to show you projects made with the new release and give you a chance to win some for yourself!  Today I'm sharing a card made with the new Stained Glass Snowflake Frame die!

Snowflake-Peace-Two
I love color and couldn't resist ombre shades of blue filling in all those rays of light behind the snowflake.
Snowflake-Peace-One
I started by cutting the Stained Glass Snowflake Frame from white card stock.  I wanted to be sure the die didn't cut all the way through so I applied packing tape to the back of my card stock panel.  This prevents the die from cutting all the way through.  Next I colored all the rays with Copic markers in shades of blue.  I love Copics because they're easy to refill and I don't run out of my favorite colors.

Snowflake-Peace-Four

Next I cut the die again from white cardstock and adhered it over the colored panel.   I cut the Stained Glass Snowflake that matches the snowflake on the panel perfectly with gold foil paper and adhered it over the snowflake on the panel.
Snowflake-Peace-Three
The panel is slightly smaller than a 4.25 x 5.5" card.  To give the panel a finished look I added a Double Stitched Rectangle Frame cut in gold foil.   A few blue gems add a little more sparkle and shine that's always perfect for the holidays.
Snowflake-Peace
Now the part you've been waiting for.. the prize on this post!   Of course it's the Stained Glass Snowflake Window!

The Holiday blog blitz runs from November 2-14 . We'll be giving away a prize on every blog blitz post during this time.
