Today I’m sharing a warm and whimsical fall card featuring some of the latest Nordic-style products from Poppystamps. This handmade card captures a cozy woodland moment with a bundled-up fox, tall mushrooms, and a glowing ink-blended sky — perfect for celebrating the magic of autumn!

I used the Nordic Bundled Fox, Nordic Long Stem Mushrooms, a sWhittle Field and Trees die, and a sentiment from the Hooray Clear Stamp Set, all from Poppystamps’ newest release. Let’s walk through how I created this scene!

Ink-Blended Fall Background

I started with a piece of smooth white cardstock and blended a warm, fiery background using Distress Oxide inks in Carved Pumpkin, Crackling Campfire, Ripe Persimmon, and Aged Mahogany. Beginning with Carved Pumpkin in the center, I worked outward with the other shades to create a glowing fall sky that radiates warmth. The smooth transition of these colors gives the background depth and mood — a perfect setting for a woodland critter!

A Fox in Autumn Tones

The Nordic Bundled Fox is die-cut from white cardstock and then inked using the same colors as the background: Carved Pumpkin, Crackling Campfire, Ripe Persimmon, and a touch of Aged Mahogany for shading. I wanted the fox to blend harmoniously with the background while still standing out with all its charming Nordic details.

For the scarf, I used Rustic Wilderness, a rich deep green that contrasts beautifully with the warm oranges and gives the fox a cozy and festive vibe. The layered design of the fox adds great dimension and personality to the scene.

Mushroom Accents and Grounding the Scene

Next, I die-cut the Nordic Long Stem Mushrooms from white cardstock. The caps were colored using a mix of Carved Pumpkin, Crackling Campfire, and Ripe Persimmon to tie into the warm autumn palette. The stems were softly inked with Antique Linen to keep them neutral but still grounded in the scene.

To anchor everything, I added a gently curved snow bank using a die from Poppystamps. Even though it’s technically a winter element, it worked beautifully here as a rolling hill or forest ground layer — just goes to show how versatile these dies can be across seasons!

Finishing Touches

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Hooray Clear Stamp Set in black onto a strip and placed it below the fox. This sentiment adds a joyful touch while keeping the focus on the cozy scene.

All the die-cut pieces were adhered with foam tape for added dimension. I mounted the whole panel onto a white card base to let the vibrant colors truly shine.

I hope this card inspires you to mix seasonal tones with Nordic-style dies to create cozy, layered scenes. The warmth of autumn paired with adorable woodland critters is always a winning combination!

Hugs,

Jyoti
