Let's Celebrate
by Allison Frazier
Hello, Poppystamps friends! I am excited to be back on the blog today sharing some products from the new Birthday Love Release. I have been loving patterned paper lately, so I thought I would pick some papers from the new Birthday Fun Paper Pack and make a shaker card. And what says birthday more than balloons?
I used the largest balloon from the new Brilliant Birthday Balloons set to cut an opening into a pink panel that is roughly 4" x 5". Because this balloon is pretty big, my overall card is larger than normal. I wanted to have a nice border of the fun confetti foiled paper around the shaker panel, so the overall size is 4.75" x 5.75". Once I cut the balloon opening into the pink panel, I adhered acetate to the back with double sided tape. I then added foam tape all around the opening to create a "well" for my shaker bits. I added some white and pink sequins into the well. For the back of my shaker panel, I chose some more foiled paper from the paper pack. This paper is white with gold foil stripes. It is not easy to see the shiny foil on these two papers in the main picture, but you can see it better in the picture below.
Once my shaker panel was enclosed, I adhered it to a slightly larger mint green panel and then adhered that to my card base, which I had already created with the confetti foil paper. I cut the Happy Birthday Poe Script from some gold metallic card stock and stacked the words onto two more layers that I had cut out of white card stock. I adhered the words over the balloon. I also stamped and heat embossed a sub sentiment with gold embossing powder. I love how the shape of the matching die in the Birthday Banners Set snuggled right under the swoop of the "R" in the main sentiment. For the balloon string, I cut one of the strings from the Brilliant Birthday Balloons set. I added a white bow that I created using a die from the Nordic Wreath and Bow set.
That is it for my card today. I hope it brings a smile to your face. Thanks so much for joining us today.
