White on White!

Hello Poppy Peeps!

It's Sphoorti again! With December's snow and wintery vibes, I decided to create a white-on-white card. It involved quite a bit of die cutting, but I had a blast putting it together! And the best part is - you can use any die set you have that can cut flowers!

I began by die cutting a bunch of flowers from white cardstock using the 2622 Flower and Leaf Sprinkles die. I also used some of the floral dies from the 2469 Floral Vase Popup Die Set. It helped speed up the flower die-cutting process. Next, I cut out some rings with the 2613 Nordic Pattern Ring die set. To make it easier, I added double-sided adhesive to the back of the rings, which allowed me to stick the flowers down without needing liquid glue.

To give the flowers some dimension, I used a blunt-ended pointy tool and gently pressed on the centers of the flowers while they were resting on a mouse pad. This helped them "pop" a little more. After that, I adhered the flowers to the Nordic rings and added pearls to some of the flower centers for a bit of extra elegance.

Once the rings were attached to my card base, I felt like the white space needed a bit more texture. So, I turned to the 2609 Scallop Pinpoint Rings die set and cut out a few additional rings from the same white card stock. These went into some of the open areas to balance out the design.

Finally, I added a leftover sentiment from the PSF808 Modest Greetings 2 Hot Foil Plate and Die, which I had foiled in gold on plain white card stock. And that was it!

It’s got a bit of a wedding card feel, don’t you think? While I don’t have any weddings coming up, I kept the sentiment general. What do you think of the finished look?

Hope you liked the card! Thank you for visiting! Please be sure to post a comment, we love seeing them!

Love,
