Hang In There
by Rachel Duong

Hi crafty friends! It's Rachel here sharing a card using the Poppystamps "Nordic Stockings" from the latest holiday release. Stockings are not only for the holidays. How about bright, colorful hanging ones drying in the summer sun?! And this monkey wants a part in it too!

To create this card I began by die cutting the "Nordic Stockings" out of brightly painted watercolor paper. I glued the pieces together and added more color to areas that I thought needed contrast. Next I cut a yellow cardfront slightly smaller than an A2 card. Then I die cut the "Double Scalloped Stitched Frames" out of creme cardstock. I glued the frame to the cardfront and then glued that to a creme cardbase.

I adhered burlap twine with glue dots and liquid glue to the cardfront. I arranged the stockings and added extra layers where needed to level the pieces. I die cut and painted the monkey from the "Whittle Pirate Monkey Kit" out of watercolor paper. I decided where I wanted him to hang and then glued all the pieces down.

I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair green ink. The sentiment is from the "Whittle Pirate Monkey Kit".

Finally I die cut the "Flower and Leaf Sprinkles" in creme cardstock and arranged them on the stockings and around the card. I glued the flowers down and then I added pretty jewel embellishments for the centers of the blossoms to complete the card with a touch of sparkle!

I imagine this card will go to a friend that might be having a rough day and needs a little cheering up! The monkey is too cute and will surely bring a smile! Thank you for stopping by. Please contact me if you have any questions. Have a wonderful day!
