Gnome Home
by Birgit Norton
Hello Poppystamps peeps! Have you been enjoying the newest release from Poppystamps? I sure have! I knew I wanted to use this darling Large Mushroom House first. Let's get started and I'll show you how this card came together.
I cut the Mushroom House elements out of white, grey and red cardstock and added a bit of Distress Oxide Ink to the sides of the mushroom stem and assembled the mushroom. I colored a scrap of vellum paper with a yellow Copic marker and adhered the vellum behind the windows and door.
I created the background for the mushroom house by blending Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Dusty Concord Distress inks and then sprinkled it with water to create watermarks for a starry sky. I also splattered on some white paint to add clarity to the stars.
I cut the Nordic Forest Gnome out of dark blue, light blue and white cardstock and colored the face using Copic Markers and assembled the Forest Gnome with liquid glue.
I decided Mr. Gnome needed more color so I cut the hat elements out of red and white cardstock, which added just the right pop of color. I also painted white spots onto the mushroom cap.
I think this card turned out super cute. It reminds me of the old German and Norwegian Christmas cards from the late 1800's to the mid 1950's.

Hi Birgit, I love the background and how you created it, the colours combine beautifully, and the Father Christmas and Gnome House are fabulous, a definite Nordic look.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Love this little winter scene, and the way you have dressed up the gnome. Love the background and the details you added to the mushroom house is a neat touch!
