Light a Candle for a Birthday
By Meghan Kennihan
Hi Crafty Friends,
It's my BIRTHDAY month so this is my second Birthday card using Poppy Stamps Floral Cake Pop-Up Easel Card Die. I just love the flowers that come with this die. They are so elegant.
Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: What is your favorite kind of birthday cake?
A: Me? Ice Cream Cake
Step #1: I started my card by cutting the base pieces out of white cardstock.
Step #2: I used a light blue paper from the Poppy Stamps Lagoon 6x6 Paper Pad for my cake and layered them on top of the cake base piece.
Step #3: I die cut the decorative flowers and leaves out of the Poppy Stamps Rainbow Reflections 6x6 Mirror Paper Pad.
Step #4: I arranged the flowers on the cake pieces and added Poppy Stamps Bright Jewels to the centers.
Step #5: I added sentiments to my card by die cutting the Poppy Stamps Birthday Banners and adding Birthday sentiments to them.
Step #6: Lastly, I added the candles to the top with the flames in gold metallic paper.

Hi Meghan, I love this Birthday card, it is gorgeous.
To be honest I have never heard of an Ice Cream Cake, but it sounds yummy, I have only ever had a fruit cake birthday cake or a sponge birthday cake, both with marzipan and icing on top, the fruit cake one is always very filling and the sponge cake one is quite flavourless and I can only taste the icing etc. I would love to try an Ice Cream Birthday Cake, sounds so yummy.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
This was such a beautiful card and am loving all of the details you added to make it more so! I love ice cream cake too! I have purchased as well as made my ones for my kids when they were so young, years ago! Now, because we have 4 birthdays from July 6th till Aug 19th, we pretty much only order slices of cakes!! LOL!! And the last one, he asked for just ice cream straight so he got a ton of it!! Probably the cakes that the kids have liked the best are my German Chocolate and Caramel. But their fav of my desserts are my Strawberry Triffle that is sugar free and delicious! Recipe is on my blog.
