A Sunny Hello

When inspiration hits, sometimes you just have to roll with it!  That was the case with this card when I received the Whittle Bit of Fun Kits.  The idea to make a jungle inspired cake card popped into my head and here you go!    Birgit here with you today, and here's how this card came together.

IMG_7159I started by cutting out the Whittle Tropical Gators and Whittle Pirate Monkey's, adding color using Distress Oxide Inks and Copic Markers, then gluing the shapes together.

IMG_7167Next came the card base.  I cut the Floral Cake Pop-Up Easel card out of a soft blue cardstock, assembling the easel part as seen in the photo's.

IMG_7169I die cut the cake layers out of a solid green cardstock from the Greenery 6x6 pad  and cut the printed layer using paper from my stash.  The cake scallops were cut out of brown cardstock, as I thought they would make good vines for the monkey's to swing on.

IMG_7170Next, I glued the trunks of the palm trees on first so I could add the leaves in a manner that they wouldn't hang over the bottom portion of the cake, so that it would still fit in an A2 sized envelope.   I added the water die to the bottom of the cake and glued on the toothy gator and hanging the monkey's on the vines.

IMG_7171Next, I cut the flowers from the Floral Cake Pop-Up set out of a scrap of soft yellow cardstock and glued them together from largest to smallest, creating the layered flowers.

IMG_7179Once they were glued to the cake, I added Fairy Jewels to the centers to finish my card front.

IMG_7182For the inside of the card, I added  the cake layers in green and white, allowing space to stamp a sentiment from the Whittle Tropical Gator Kit.  The cake's frosting details and two more whittle friends finished the inside of the card off perfectly.
