Winter Greetings Snowglobe
by Birgit Norton
The winter season is closing in on us and the time for sending out Christmas greetings is right around the corner. Are you ready? Birgit here with you today with a cute Christmas snowglobe card featuring some dies from the winter 2023 release.
I started by creating the snowglobe scene, by cutting the Simple Rings Craft die out of white cardstock. I added color to the inside circle using Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Inks, and then splattered on some white snowflakes using Picket Fence Paint, flicking it on with a water brush. I cut the Snowglobe Base out of a soft finish tan cardstock, distressing the edges with a bit of Walnut Stain DOX ink and layering the detailed pieces together with liquid glue. I also stamped and cut two banners using a sentiment from the Christmas Banners Clear Stamp and Die Set. I heat embossed one in gold and the other stamped in black, simply because I didn't know which one I wanted to use.
I die cut the Whittle Field and Trees from white cardstock and then cut it again using the circle die. I glued the tree line to the snowglobe circle.
I die cut the Sweet Nordic Snowman out of white cardstock, coloring his hat and scarf with Copic markers and then I assembled the snowglobe. Next, die cut the Scandinavian Snowflake Plate out of white cardstock and adhere it to the front of a white A2 sized card base.
Poppystamps sent these beautiful Floral Poinsettia Rub-ons by Memory Box when they shipped the winter die collection and I just had to use one! I cut one of the smaller floral sprays from the sheet and rubbed it onto a scrap of white cardstock and then fussy cut it.
I assembled the card front, attaching the floral spray for a finishing touch.
