Haunted Ghost House!
by Rachel Duong
This house might be full of ghosts, but they are the welcoming, friendly kind! Hi, it's me, Rachel and the ghosts, to wish you the most magical day. I'm back with a fun, haunted house using the Poppystamps "Neighborhood Home Pop Up Easel Set" from the newest fall release.
The house pops up with it's own stand to be displayed along with your Halloween decorations. It can also be adhered on a card base-- both fit perfectly in an A2 envelope.
I began by die cutting color combinations using the Memory Box "Twilight Purple" and "Lush Green" paper packs. I had a blast planning out which colors would go for the shutters, siding, etc. I chose "Black Glossy Paper" for the roof. It is listed below. The ghosts took center stage and were dressed in sparkles from the "Festive Glitter Pad".
The card base is a heavy weight purple cardstock. Next I die cut black for the shadow outline of the house. Before gluing the house down, I arranged the ghosts exactly where I wanted them to go. I made sure one was behind the door as it defined the details on the door. I also love the ghosts peeking through the windows.
Notice the ghost visitor at the door. It is dressed in pearl white and has a distinctly different tail than the home owners.
Purple embellishments of Open Box "Autumn Fairy Jewels" adorn the card. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Poppystamps "Whittle Wild Animal Sentiments Clear Stamp Set" in white on a black strip. I allowed blank space to write a note, the sentiment and jewels provide a stopping point for the card to stay upright in true easel fashion.
The Poppystamps "Neighborhood Home Pop Up Easel Set" is awesome, it can be used for countless occasions. I have to admit while creating this card I imagined I was a haunted house designer and also a friendly ghostbuster! Take care and have a crafty, magical day. See you very soon!
