PSC#104 Challenge Reminder!
by Sphoorti
Hello Poppy Peeps!
It's Sphoorti with a gentle reminder of this month's challenge - PSC#104 Flower Garden! Everyone knows that April showers bring May flowers and this month we're ready to put the long winter months behind us and take a stroll down a garden path. Show us fresh florals in any color of the rainbow because YOU decide what flowers grow in your personal crafty paradise! Projects can be for any occasion, and you're not limited to making cards. We welcome home décor, page layouts, tags and everything in between! It's your choice, just be sure to use at least one Poppystamps die on your project! You must use a Poppystamps product to be eligible to win!
This was my take on the challenge. Hope you like it!
I started with cutting some tulips using the 2557 Layered Tulips craft die. I used copic markers to color them in. I stepped out of my comfort zone and use warm colors instead of cool ones the way I typically do. Once I was done coloring them, I adhered the petals of the tulips together.
My original thought was to layer the tulips on the fold of the card that's sticking up (the one with the Hello on it). However, it didn't look / work the way I had imagined, so I adhered the tulips to the inner fold of the card so that they look like they're peeking from behind the front flap. I topped some of the petals of the tulips with some glossy accents for shine and some others with a shimmer pen for sparkle.
I used the 2509 Hello Moonlight Script craft die to cut the sentiment multiple times with plain white card stock, and then layered them on top of each other to get a chipboard type of feel. The die cuts are very delicate for this sentiment and a bit hard to work with, but so worth it! I topped the layered Hello with another Hello that I cut out of some red glitter card stock in the Festive Glitter Pad. I used the same glitter paper to cut out a very thin strip and adhered it to the edge of the front flap.
I adhered some jewels from the Bright Jewels sticker set on the right side of the sentiment et voila! What do you think?
Now it's your turn to take on the Flower Garden challenge! Need a little more motivation? How about a prize? The winner (chosen at random) of this challenge will receive a $20 Gift Certificate to spend on their favorites from the store!
