Hello with Teardrop Butterflies
by Kim Singdahlsen

I needed a break from the cold and snowy weather outside my craft room window and I knew the Teardrop Butterflies would give me the break that I needed! These butterflies were part of the Valentines release. They have a bottom layer and a top layer so you can easily create beautiful dimension (see the samples here).  I wanted to go a different direction so I fully adhered the top black layer to a bottom layer, then I used glitter paper to cut out oranges and yellow to fill in the detail. Each piece is a little small but it's not hard to do when you have the bottom layer because you are simply applying a bit of adhesive and plopping the glittered piece in each section.

I used a little gold cord to give them antenna. This tied them in with the golden sentiment from Birthday Wishes Poe Script Hot Foil Plate and dies.  Of course the sideways guy needed to be on a flower so I used the new Layered Pointy Petals. Then it all felt a little small on a full card so I added the largest frame with inside scallops from the Double Scalloped Stitched Frames.  This narrowed the focus to the grouping of dies that I had created.

These butterflies make me smile! They are so cute and so cheerful - but they can also be elegant as you would see on the other samples linked above. I like the different shapes and there's even two smaller ones that I did not use on this card.

I hope I've given you an idea for the Teardrop Butterflies!  Have fun!!Kim Floral Signature copy
