Spring in the Garden

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's time to get ready for Spring in the Garden! If you are already planting, or still flipping through your garden catalogs, it's time to start thinking about the early, pretty garden blooms! I used some of my favorite Poppystamps dies to create these pretty purple and yellow flowers that reming me of spring pansies.

To create my faux pansies, I used three different Poppystamps die sets: Brilliant Geraniums, Little Posie Layered Flowers, and Potpourri Flower Set. I started with the Brilliant geraniums in deep purple shades for the outside petals, cutting two for each flower. Then I cut the Little Posie layered Flowers in bright yellow and added them on top. The tiny center of the pansy, which always reminds me of a flying bird, was cut with the Potpourri Flower Set in dark purple. Extra leaves and vines were created from dies from the Floral Vase Pop Up Easel Set.

I created the card base with the Evangeline Pinpoint Frame cut in crisp white with a pale blue background. Then I added the Reeded Deco Curve Border which feels like a little backyard arbor. I added the Flower Field Corner and the Perfect Posies Bouquet in a fresh green. Once everything was in place, I adhered my pretty pansies in place along with a few extra leaves in a few shades of green. The bright pink Teardrop Butterflies and tiny Winter Fantasy Fairy Gemstones finished it off! I'm ready for spring!
