Cocoa and Warm Socks
by Kim Singdahlsen
The challenge for this month is Let It Snow and what could be better on a snowy day than hot cocoa and warm socks!
The Whittle Cocoa with Whip die and those delicate Adelaide Snowflakes were part of the 2022 Christmas release. I didn't use the mug at all during the Christmas season and I only used those gorgeous snowflakes once but I refused to stash them away until I played with them. So as I was thinking about the Let It Snow challenge and then remembered that perfect sentiment with cocoa and warm socks, I knew it was meant to be!
I used the Delicate Pastel Glitter pad for the snowflakes picking a soft orange, yellow and pink. Then I kept the mug simple because I wanted those sparkly snowflakes to shine. I didn't want it totally plain so I saw the perfectly sized heart in the brand new Heartfelt Pinpoint Frame. Not that anyone would get the entire frame for one little heart - but it's a fantastic die and I already have a card ready for next week using the whole frame (and maybe a charming panda!)
I was a little stuck on what to do with the background. I thought it needed more than just white but I didn't want it to overwhelm the snowflakes. I love this trios of blues from the Fresh Aqua pad so I decided on simple stripes. I cut two and while I was cutting the last one, the two stripes that were sitting on my card moved into a diagonal direction and I decided to listen to the message they were sending me! What a happy accident! The diagonal stripes give me the feeling of blowing snow!
If you are looking out your window and seeing snow - I hope you have your warmest socks on and a fresh mug of hot cocoa in your hands! And if you are crafting - think about playing along with our Let It Snow challenge!

Darling card!
Hi Kim, What could be more comforting on a snowy day, than a lovely cup of cocoa and some warm socks, and this card is beautiful, I especially love the three diagonal strips of coloured paper.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
