Joyful Whittle Gnome

You just can't help but smile when you look at  this Whittle Gnome!  With his happy look, he seemed to work perfectly with the simple Joy Freestyle Script

He's cute and simple but I added a few extra touches. First, I gave him a plaid hat.  The plaid is from the Memory Box Jolly Christmas pad. I picked a piece with some golden accents because that led me to the golden joy and a few little golden snowflakes from the Snowflake Flurry Collage both using the Memory Box Polished Foil Pad. I thought the hat needed a bit more so I added one little leaf and berry from the Layered Holly Leaf Trio which I did in two tones of green.

I love the Evangeline Pinpoint Frame and it seemed perfect for my cozy Whittle Gnome. I did it tone-on-tone which I thought gave it a warm blanket look.

I have to admit that I never jumped on the gnome craze - at least until this year. I really have more than enough Christmas decorations for my house, but I was wandering a store and saw the tackiest and cutest little tree I've ever seen that is perfect for the shelves in my living room.  Then what goes with cute little trees? I decided gnomes did.  I now have 5 gnome items - including a pillow with two older gnomes holding hands (perfect for this empty-nester couple) and one that jiggles his jingle bell hat while singing a Christmas version of Shout.  I'm loving them!  They make me smile!!  After my new decorating scheme, I wanted to replicate the fun I'm have with my gnomes and was thrilled to see the Whittle Gnome die.  He's amazingly cute!  And I realized he could go many different directions.  The guy on this card is fairly classic with the warm colors and themes but you could go bright and cheerful or snowy or woodsy  - but whatever you do, the recipient will definitely smile!
