Hello Kitties - 2 Shaker Cards with Baby Kittens!
by Sphoorti
Hello Poppy Peeps!
Sphoorti here with two shaker cards chock full of baby kittens. My last two posts (Kittens All Around and Baby Kittens) were about cards I made with the Baby Kittens craft die. When I have a die out that I want to work with, I cut out multiple die cuts so that I have spares in case I mess up, or in case I come up with some other technique or idea later that doesn't require me to pull out the die from my supplies again. So, when I got this die out for my last two cards, I cut out so many of these kitties because well, can you help it? They're so cute! And also because I started having ideas as I was making the cards with them. These are two of the ideas I had in between. I have four more cards coming up with the same kitties but two different techniques, so stay tuned!
I started off by die cutting a million kitties with the Baby Kittens craft die using black card stock as well as with glitter card stock from the GP1007 Glitzy Glitter Pad. I also cut out the outer frame from the 2474 Double Scalloped Stitched Frames craft die using Neenah Solar White #110 card stock. I cut out a piece of acetate and applied it to the back of the frame. Then, I used some double sided foam tape and adhered it to the perimeter of the frame.
I filled the shaker well with all the kitties that I die cut and also added some confetti for additional sparkle and seed beads for sound. I sealed the shaker in the back with another piece of acetate. Then, I adhered this to my 4.25" x 5.5" card base. I heat foiled the Hello sentiment using the PSF807 Birthday Wishes Poe Script Hot Foil Plate and Dies and die cut it and adhered it to the bottom left side of the shaker. I adhered silver jewels along the top right side of the frame and called it done.
I made the second card using the same technique, except - I used the "Thinking of You" sentiment from the PSF804 You Are Amazing Poe Script Greetings Hot Foil Plate and Dies and adhered it to the top right side of the shaker so that it doesn't cover up the kitties that settle at the bottom when you display the card upright.
Here's a video that shows the Hello card in motion.
Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Which one do you like better? Please do let me know! I love to hear from you!
