Sweet Striped Wishes
by Janet Katz

Stripe wishes PS

Janet here with one last reminder to enter our Word Art challenge to have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate. The rules are simple - just create a project following the theme, use at least one Poppystamps image or die, and link it up here. The design we love best will receive our winner badge to proudly display on their blog, and one lucky random winner will receive that gift certificate.

On this stripey card, I used the Luscious Script Wishes die along with the Life is Sweet Clear Stamp set. To make the stripes, I cut  a lot of 1/4" strips of three different colors of cardstock -- a light turquoise, a teal, and a light yellow-green. I glued the strips to a piece of white cardstock approximately 4" x 5". Next, I trimmed that piece of cardstock to  approximately 4.75" x 3.25" to cut off all the uneven ends. I centered this on a white A2 sized card. I used  the middle-size frame from the Scallop Stitch Frame die set and cut out a scalloped frame and glued it down on the stripes.

I die cut the word wishes from heavyweight white cardstock and then used a piece of turquoise vellum to cut the the shadow die. I glued these two together and then attached them to the striped background, carefully hiding foam adhesive behind the wider strokes of the letters.

Next, I stamped the word Sweet from the Life is Sweet stamp set and cut it out and mounted it with foam adhesive above the word. Finally, I added color-matched sequins to the stripes on the cards to give it shine. Hope you enjoyed my explanation and that you enter our contest before the month's end.

Hi Janet, This is a lovely colour-coordinated CAS card, I admire your patience in creating this stripey background with all the separate strips, lovely colours.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
