Christmas in August? Why Not!
by Nancy Penir
Well, it's official... I've finally started my Holiday cards! What's that you say? Shouldn't July be the kickoff for all things holiday?
It's Christmas in August today with my Poppystamps snow globe card. Here's how I did it...
I die cut all my pieces from Poppystamps card stock, and inked the round snow globe sky blue.
The little scene I created is a pop up easel, so festive with the glitter trees and snowfolk! See the snow on the rooftop? Here's how I created it.
When I die cut the fir trees, a scallop edge was left on either side. I just used that negative piece, cut it down to fit the roof of my townhome, and voila! Snow on the roof!
Here's a closeup of the snowglobe scene, with the snowy roof. See the wreath on the door? When you cut out the holly and berries, use one of the berries, and choose a hole punch, small one of course, to cut out the center. A perfect door wreath!
I love to create my own envelopes to match my cards, and that's what you see here, behind the card. I use Christmas wrapping paper, with the pattern on the inside, and lines on the outside. Pretty cool, huh?
The reverse side of the envelope, has a few of the snow globes die cuts glued onto a corner.
Well that's my Christmas card kickoff. This was so quick and easy with Poppystamps' papers. Think I'll do a few more!
Hope you got some holiday card inspiration. Have a great week!

Oh my goodness that is the cutest scene inside the globe and love the papers you used on it too!
Hi Nancy, Wow !! I absolutely love this card, the globe is one of my favourites and you have included some fabulous die-cuts to form the scene and the tartan patterned paper finishes off the globe base beautifully.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
