Boo
by Tiffany Pryce
Hey Poppy friends! Tiffany here with another fall inspired card to share. I'm mixing new Poppystamps dies with previously released dies to create a fun Halloween card. Do you prefer sweet and cute Halloween or spooky Halloween? I enjoy both. This card is more on the sweet and pretty side with the addition of flowers. Let's dive into the details.
First, I created the card base and adhered pink cardstock from the Berry Red paper pad, trimmed to 4 x 5.25 inches. Next, I created a gel print background with a variety of dye inks. I used pink/orange, orange, and a dark orange color to create a gradient. After adding the ink to my gel plate, I used a brayer to mix the color and then pulled it with plain white paper. I found that the ink did not bead up as much if I added a layer of sticky embossing ink down first. I splattered gold watercolor on the background for a final touch of sparkle.
After the background was complete, I die cut all of my card front elements. I did direct to paper with the same colors of dye inks and die cut all of the elements - Layered Fringe Flowers, Lovely Layered Flowers, and Halloween Assemblage. To the flowers, I added ink blending to the center and on the tops of the flowers for some variation. I also added shading to the bottom of the pumpkin. I die cut the spider web from gold mirror paper from the Vintage Pastel Mirror paper pad. I adhered all of the elements down and finally added gemstones to the flower centers.
Finally, I die cut the sentiment from gold glitter cardstock. I inked a panel with brown dye ink and die cut the sentiment again, stacking and offsetting the layers slightly. I adhered the card front on at an angle for a little more fun. :)
I hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to try out the new release. I just love the juxtaposition of spider webs and fall colored florals for some reason. Hope you have a great weekend and that you get to do something crafty!
