Baby Kittens!
by Sphoorti
Hello Poppy Peeps!
I'm back with another kitty card! This one has the cutest, tiniest kittens that'll just melt your heart! My inspiration for this card? Chittles, my boyfriend's (and now my) kitty. She's our little girl and our world.
Originally, I thought I'd try the partial die cutting technique and make the kittens float from the top of the card base, but I made the mistake of choosing really thick cardstock (130#) and the kitties were so tiny and intricate, I had a hard time cutting through the base to form a clean line. See what I mean?
So, I decided to take a shortcut and tried to achieve the same effect without killing the card stock or bits of the kitties, so I did it the following way. It was so much easier, and quicker! Let me talk you through it...
First I started off by cutting a whole bunch of kitties with the Baby Kittens craft die. (Just a note for you, by the way - this is a steal! Great price point!) I cut a bunch with the same black card stock (130#) and also with some black fun foam. I adhered the card stock kittens to the foam kittens and set them aside.
I took some 2" double sided tape and adhered it to my card base at the top and poured the Diamond Dust glitter (that's right, it's back!) on it and burnished it in.
I took a card panel that measured about 3.5" in height and foam mounted it on the card base at the bottom so that the strip of glitter shows up at the top.
Then I took the kittens and arranged them along the horizontal line at the top of the card panel so that they look like they're floating.
I took the stamp set from the Whittle Adorable Kitty Kit and stamped the "I miss mew" sentiment in black and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
There's a little paw print in the stamp set in the Whittle Adorable Kitty Kit. I used some light gray ink (This one's called Grout Gray by MFT Stamps and it's the best cool-light-gray ink ever!) to stamp the paw prints all over the card panel.
Then, I used a Spectrum Noir shimmer pen on top of the kittens to make them sparkly and then added glossy accents on top for that glossy finish. And because you can never have enough kitties in the world, I cut up some more using some Glitzy Glitter card stock and adhered them to the inside of the card.
I may not have hit Crazy-Cat-Lady status in real life, but I certainly did in my crafty life.
Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Please do let us know! We love to hear from you! Stay tuned for even more little kitty cards now that I have this set out!
Love,

Hi Sphoorti, This is 'right up my street', your Chittles is just like my Lizzie who is a black cat too. I adore how you have mounted the kitties onto black foam aswell to give dimension, and to put sparkle and glossy accents on, they look gorgeous. The sentiment complates this card beautifully, I love the sentiment.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
