Hello Poppy Peeps!

I'm back with yet another kitty card! This one has the same cutest, tiniest kittens that I used on my previous post! My inspiration for this post was Ashley Tucker, who's an expert at making Spinner Cards. She has great tutorials on YouTube that outline the process. She goes over the process really well, and I think her videos are more effective for learning or implementing the technique, so I'll skip trying to explain the mechanism with words. But, I'll cover the aspects outside of the mechanism.

First I started off by cutting a whole bunch of kitties with the Baby Kittens craft die. I used black 130# card stock, so the kitties were pretty sturdy to begin with. I stacked a few together anyway for additional dimension and the "chipboard" like feel so that they can easily be spun.

I cut out a circular frame using acetate (I wanted them to look as if they're floating). I adhered all the kitties along the circumference of the circular frame.

I die-cut a circle for the center to cover the foam tape around which the acetate frame spins, and I stamped it with a sentiment from stamp set that's included in the Whittle Adorable Kitty Kit and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

There's a little paw print in the stamp set in the Whittle Adorable Kitty Kit. I stamped it in black and clear heat embossing that as well. I ran my shimmer pen on the kitties to make them sparkly and then covered them with glossy accents for that shiny look and smooth feel.

It looked like something was missing so I talked to my crafty friend and genius, Judy, about it and she suggested putting the black strips at the top and the bottom. I went with some strong double sided adhesive, and put some black Therm-O-Web DecoFoil on top. It looked much better, but I still felt like it was missing something. So, she suggested that I use a black frame around the sentiment circle, and I used a circle die set to cut out a frame with a sheet from the Black Glossy Paper Pack. It matched perfectly with the foil. I think I was 90% happier after implementing this suggestion from her. Shout out to Judy and her creativity!

I was contemplating putting some dots around the kittens (like little foiled black dots), but decided to stop before I mess up the card.

Here's a video of the spinning mechanism. I used a pair of scissors to spin the kitties.

Thoughts? Questions? Epiphanies? Please do let me know! We love to hear from you! Stay tuned for even more little kitty cards now that I have this set out!

Love,

Hi Sphoorti, Genius !! Your camera-work is brilliant showing the glossy accents on the gorgeous kitties. I adore the effects that Judy's help has given to you, well done Judy. The spinner is innovative and I love it.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
