Housewarming Congrats!
by Tiffany Pryce
Happy Wednesday, friends! Tiffany here with some inspiration for this month's Poppystamps challenge. This month is all about rainbows - my favorite!! We want you to add ALL the colors or maybe even an actual rainbow to your project. Your project can be for any occasion, just be sure to include at least one Poppystamps (stamp or die) on your project! We can't wait to see what you make. My dear friend recently purchased her first home so I wanted to make a card congratulating her! Since this month's theme is rainbows, why not a rainbow neighborhood?
This CAS card was easy to make - die cutting took the longest. To start, I made a mini slimline card panel from white cardstock. I trimmed the panel to 6.25 x 3.25 inches. I splattered the panel with black spray ink for additional interest.
Next, I die cut the house from the Layered Global house die set multiple times from a rainbow of cardstock. This house die was meant to be used in the snowglobe die set for winter/holidays, but the house is perfect for year round. Take a look at your seasonal products to see how you may use them all year. It is a good way to get more from your stash. Each house used two colors of cardstock - darker for the top layer and a lighter shade from the backing. I used coordinating colors of copic markers to darken the roof and doors.
I adhered the houses with foam tape for dimension. I used my t-ruler to ensure they were aligned straight, but this design could look great with random/scattered placement as well. For a little sparkle, I added glitter brush marker on the doors.
For the sentiment, I hot foiled the Modest Greetings 1 on black cardstock with silver glimmer foil. I die cut the sentiment with the coordinating strip die. I added silver twine behind the sentiment strip and adhered to the card front with foam tape. For dark paper, I recommend using black foam tape. Or you can color the edges of white foam tape with a black marker. Before adhering the card front to my card base, I trimmed it a little bit and matted it with a piece of black cardstock.
Hope you pull out your supplies and join us for this month's challenge. Until next time, enjoy your day!
