Hot Foil Birthday
by Tiffany Pryce
Happy Saturday, Poppy peeps! Have you shopped the new release yet? It's so cute! There are great staples for spring and summer and even a brand new line of hot foil stamps - woohoo! Today, I'm sharing a clean and colorful, birthday card using goodies from the new release.
First, I created the card base and background. I trimmed a panel of cream, woodgrain cardstock down to 5 x 3.75 inches. I backed it with several layers of scrap cardstock to add dimension and added it to an A2 card base. Next, I die cut the Perfect Posies Bouquet die twice - once from orange cardstock from the Sunny Orange paper pad and once from coral cardstock from the Berry Red paper pad. I adhered the layers together with liquid glue. To the flower centers, I added a gold jewel from the Christmas Fairy Jewels pack.
Next, I worked on the butterfly. The Small Stained Glass Butterfly and Background die comes with two pieces - a solid butterfly background and the delicate, stained glass wings. I die cut the background from 2 layers of white and 1 layer of pink cardstock from the Berry Red paper pad. For the wings, I die cut gold cardstock from the Vintage Pastel Mirror paper pad. I adhered the wings only in the middle so I could lift the wings a bit. For the butterfly body, I die cut it from the same coral color as I did the Perfect Posies. I adhered the butterfly with liquid glue to the card front.
Beneath the butterfly, I added a sentiment from the Modest Greetings 1 foil and cut die set. I foiled the sentiment with matte gold glimmer foil. The matte gold is one of my favorite glimmer foils. I added foam tape behind the sentiment to ensure that it was level across the panel.
Hope you liked this clean and simple birthday card! Stay tuned to the blog to see even more amazing ideas with Poppystamps products. Have a great day!
