Anything is Popsicle
by Kim Singdahlsen

Anything is popsicle!!  If I can use a deco cover plate to make a popsicle - everything is most definitely possible!

This card started with the sentiment. I have a friend facing life changes and I thought "anything is popsicle" from the Life is Sweet stamp set had meaning and was also cheerful and encouraging. The Whittle series of dies does have a popsicle and that's what I had pulled out but then as I continued flipping my through dies, I saw the Arched Deco Plate. My first thought was it had popsicle shapes and it could work with my Whittle popsicle but then the light bulb came on and I realized it didn't just have to be a background - it could be the actual popsicle!

I cut the background from white and adhered it on white.  Then I picked out two colors from the Memory Box Twinkling Jewel Glitter pad. There are so many color choices between all the glitter pads, but I was looking for a bright and sunshiny look so picked yellow and orange. I cut out the small pieces and simply adhered them in the openings.

The popsicle stick was hand cut from Kraft Woodgrain paper and tucked behind the popsicle. If you try this idea, be sure not to adhere the bottom white piece where you are putting the popsicle stick.  It took time and patience to carefully pry up the bottom piece to tuck the stick behind it.  In retrospect, it probably would have been faster to start from scratch being sure not to add adhesive to that piece!

I added a few yellow and orange jewels from the Autumn Fairy Jewels as some popsicle drips.

I hope that this card made you smile and that as you go throughout your day you remember that "anything is popsicle"!!Kim Floral Signature copy
