Grand Whittle Snail
by Jeanne Jachna
Hi and thanks for stopping by! The Spring weather has me itching to get busy in the garden! It's still a bit chilly.. too cold to plant anything but I can clear away the dead foliage and start getting things ready. This card with the Grand Whittle Snail makes me smile because sometimes there are surprises mixed in with the dead leaves. Thank goodness for gloves! I wish the real thing was as cute as this little guy, maybe then I wouldn't be so squeamish!
I added lots of details to make this little guy more interesting, but first I started by setting a little garden scene.
I started by making an inky background with Distress Oxide on my card front. To keep the back of the card clean I added a strip of removable sticky tape along the seam at the top of the card
To help me decide what images to place where, I lay them out on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card front. I can rearrange the images until I'm satisfied with their placement.
To bring the snail to life I double cut the shell from two shades of pink cardstock. I fussy cut the stitches off of the lighter one to make it smaller and then adhered it over the darker pink shell. To add more detail I use a white gel pen to add some stitches of my own. Silly eyes add a little whimsy to this cute snail.
The colorful flowers pop against the white Adriana white foliage frame. The flowers are from the Potpourri Flower Set. The punny sentiment is from the Whittle Wild Animal Sentiments stamp set.
I hope this makes you smile and that you find some time today to do something you enjoy! Hugs!
