Challenge Reminder #91: Add Texture
by Nancy Penir
Greetings Poppy Peeps! Hope your spring is full of sunshine and bright with color. Nancy here and I'm posting to remind you of our Challenge this month, 'Add Texture'.
There are so many ways to add texture to your projects and cards, and I'm going to show you one of favorites. I'm sure you're all familiar with this, but just in case, here's a reminder.
The Memory Box family has several deep pocket embossing folders, which add great impressions when run through your machines. I love to roll on further texture with a brayer and ink pads. It's a rather a reverse emboss, and the color is applied onto the standup portions of the folder.
Lots of depth as well as texture on the background. But I didn't stop there. Layers, glitter paper, lifting die cut petals, and rhinestones also add texture.
A closeup of the flowers lets you see detailed copic shading, and the addition of glitter drops and rhinestones.
The unicorn's crown wreath is also added texture, built from tiny posies, and leaves.
What's your favorite texture to use? We'd love to see it!
Want to play?
The rules are simple - just create a project following the theme, use at least one Poppystamps image or die, and link it up here. The design we love best will receive our winner badge to proudly display on their blog, and one lucky random winner will receive a prize. You don't have to have a blog to play. You can link to any online gallery. In fairness to other players, we reserve the right to remove entries that do not use at least one Poppystamps image. We ask that you link a maximum of 3 entries to each challenge. You are welcome to link your design to other challenges. Grab our badge to post on your blog post or sidebar!
Have a wonderful week!
