My rainbow pig card uses a variety of new products from the February release. The release is full of beautiful flowers, wonderful new sentiments and the most charming Grand Whittle Pig!! She's really just a grown-up Whittle Pig but her "grand" size really shows off her fabulous expression. When I was reading the sentiments in the new Colorful Life clear stamp set and I saw the rainbow sentiment, I knew it was something that the Grand Whittle Pig would totally embrace!!
I used the new Potpourri Floral Set to give her a rainbow of flowers. There are a variety of flowers in the set. I picked three of them in a size that worked for her but there are others that are bigger and all of them layer if you want more dimension (but my sweet pig already had enough of a statement necklace even without layering up the flowers!) Then I added jewels on each flower mostly from the Bright Jewels but I had to pluck the purple from the Autumn Jewels.
To give her some sophistication(!), I added a layer of black glossy paper. You can kind of see a hint of the shine in the above picture, but even if the shine doesn't show, it is beautiful deep, rich black. Then I tried a variety of options for the bottom base layer - from patterned paper to embossing folders - but then it occurred to me that I could use the Flower Field Frame and it would just stick out along the edges. Doing it tone-on-tone is subtle yet adds so much interest.
This card makes me happy. It's a card that may never leave my craft area. I have picture ledges on the wall over my computer which I use to display cards that speak to me. Whether I'm coming into my office to make cards or whether I'm at my computer doing something depressing like paying bills or doing taxes - these cards make me smile or they inspire me. My rainbow pig already has a place of honor on this shelf.
