Happy Monday crafters, Sue here with an easel card that’s perfect for the guy in your life. I have a hard time making masculine cards but with the right colour choices and the addition of a little plaid you can be well on your way for a more masculine project.
Today I’m using the Bird House Pop Up Easel Die set. This set can make a card that has a wintry feel but if you leave off the snowy borders these dies are great all year long.
I chose to use colours from the Fresh Aqua Paper Pad and found a plaid patterned paper that matched perfectly. I really like the little bit of plaid peeking out around the edges of the house, it adds some whimsy to the design.
The cardinal was die cut from red paper and I added a bit of dark red ink around the edges to add depth.
Instead of my usual white card base I went with cream to go along with the cream stripes in the plaid. I stamped the sentiment in the bird house door and added another sentiment on the inside of the card. This one is popped up so it can keep the easel card standing up.
This card mails flat in an A2 envelope, which I love! You can easily turn this into a pretty spring card by using pastel papers and embellishing the bird house with flowers and leaves. It’s such a versatile die set to have in your stash. Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful week!
